Space Invaders!
After everyone and all of their ships were properly loaded the Quarter had launched successfully. The journey from Stacy to the Trojan Asteroid field trailing NiSaris took several hours, but they managed to approach the field with the people of the nearby world being none the wiser.
The problem was that the NiSarians weren't the only ones watching the skies.
As the Quarter approached and entered the asteroid field, all was quiet. But it was only going to be a matter of moments before that would change.
((ooc: See this post for instructions, but otherwise, have at it, and have fun.))

"Everyone hold. The sensors are picking something up," she announces.

"00 Raiser, Arios, Seravee, Dynames, remember to be careful around the other units, the communication lines need to stay open," she said. She knew what the GN particles could do to other systems.

Keying the communications channel to the fleet frequency "Macross Quarter to all Squadrons, we are upon the enemy, it is time to take the fight to them. All squadrons are clear for launch, good hunting, Quarter out," With that he cut the channel, his long fingers dancing over the controls attached to his command chair.
"Bring reactor up to full power, I want power to the main gun within three minutes. Tactical, ready point defense systems to cover our fighters. Beam cannon arrays to aid in point defense where Shrike swarms are thickest." He ordered crisply across to his Tactical officers.
"Helmsman, take us in on heading zero-three-zero by zero-zero-seven, let us give them a fight they will not soon forget,"

"Rogue Squadron, form up on me and await further orders."

Now isn't the time for them, though. He puts it all out of his mind as soon as he's in the X-Wing, launching and taking his place with the rest of the squadron. It's just another job. The rest could wait until after they're done.

Her X-wing shot off the launch deck and turned sharply to join the others above the Quarter. "Rogue Squadron, our priority is to keep hostile units away from the Monster until he needs to dump his payload."

Asuka's X-Wing zipped out into the void, falling in with the rest of the squadron.
Celestial Being Gundam Launch
Her fingers danced across the keys as she dialed in the specifics for each of the Celestial Being Gundams. She'd be able to do what she needed for them from her station.

Setsuna was the first to approach, and had the 00 Raiser step onto the launcher. Once in place, he glanced towards the viewscren that showed the 0 Raiser's cockpit. This wasn't going to be easy, and he was probably going to get yelled at for it later, but this is what he needed to do. Once timing was transferred over to him, he gripped the controls.
"This is 00 Raiser, Setsuna F. Seiei and Princess Dhianeila Y Leisha Altoria Ol Yunos, launching!"
Yeah, he just said that.

Please be careful, everyone.
This was certainly something new for her. It was one thing being on the Argonaut, quite another on a unit - so similar to the ones that launched from her spaceship. But nobody on the Argonaut would be the least bit surprised if they knew she was doing this, they were quite used to her decision-making.

Allelujah finds the words as though he had never once lost them.
"Arios, Allelujah Haptism. Embarking on interception maneuvers."
In a whirl of GN particles, Allelujah drives the control forward and sends Arios soaring into the cold vacuum of space.

"Roger." He responds evenly, his fingers curling around the familiar curve of the dual control sticks.
The Ohm. This would mark the first time that the Meisters faced an enemy that not only lacked mobile suits, but they weren't even of the same species. Tieria couldn't help but feel a little... uneasy.
"Seravee, Tieria Erde, going!"
He cranks the throttle forwards, propelling Seravee from the launch catapult and into the fray.

Then again, according to the others, Stacy had managed to bring him back from the dead. So there was no point in being surprised.
There was something about falling into his now-old role that made him vaguely uncomfortable. Once timing had been transferred and he was ready, he pressed the controls and glanced over at Haro, who flapped his ears helpfully.
"Dynames... Lockon Stratos, launching."
Skull Squadron
He ran through the pre-launch checklist and then keyed his thrust as the catapult picked him up from behind. "Skull-1, launching!" The Valkyrie's engines roared into life behind him as he sped from the flight deck, speeding toward the asteroid cluster in question. "Skull Squadron, stay on me until contact, then break. Good hunting."
Now, where to find a good sniping spot?
Re: Skull Squadron
"It's been ages since I've piloted a plane. I know I still have it... so let's put it to work." As the engines roared to life, Sonic called out. "This is Sonic the Hedgehog! Launching!"
With that, the Valkyrie roared off the flight deck and quickly caught up to Michael.
Re: Skull Squadron
"Skull-3, launching," Stating over the squad comm channel even as he hit the throttle and was catapulted forward into the black of space. Rapidly catching up with the other two and falling into formation. Break on contact with enemy, that he could work with. "orders acknowledged,"

Blade Squadron
This was the first time Setsuna and his group had sortied with them, and Kira was torn - on the one hand, if they saw the brutality of the Ohm first-hand, maybe they'd come around. On the other, it still felt wrong to fight an enemy in wholesale slaughter, even one as seemingly mindless and relentless as the Ohm. Maybe it was the only way, but it was never a way Kira would truly accept.
"This is Kira Yamato, Blade Leader," he keyed the communications. "Strike Freedom, let's go!"
And the catapult thrust him down the flight deck of the Quarter, into the star-filled black.
Re: Blade Squadron
"I hope you're going to be ok, Duo," she muttered to herself. She hadn't seen the Gundam pilot in quite a while. She was worried about him, but something like this took priority. She could find Duo once this was over with, if she survived.
"Hilde Schbieker, Taurus launching!" she said over the com before the red unit was launched.
Re: Blade Squadron
"Cowabunga, Blade Three. Gunner ZAKU Warrior heading out."
Re: Blade Squadron
Re: Blade Squadron
Strangely enough, even though he felt like there were some holes in his memory as-was, he did still remember why he was on Stacy, who he'd met here, and what this mission was about- it was just disconcerting to him that he couldn't quite recall why he'd done some things.
"Well... Same deal, different enemy. Time for our next mission, buddy!" He muttered quietly, taking control of his suit as the launch counter ticked down.
"Shinigami's off to work!"
Re: Blade Squadron
But then, she'd never been in a battle where she was expected to kill other people. They might be evil alien creatures bent on destroying this--multiverse thing, but Allenby still felt that she'd rather just knock them all unconscious and push them back into whatever portal they came from than wipe them out. Even the Neo-Sweden committee that had raised her to be no more than a component of the Gundam and created the Berserker System wouldn't have gone along with that.
Gundams weren't for war. They were its replacement. Using Nobel Gundam like this was wrong, and yet--she couldn't exactly stay put, could she? Not when a whole planet full of people was at stake. It was bad enough that Earth had been wiped out. She wasn't about to let that happen somewhere else.
She wondered how the other Gundam pilots felt about this--Kira and the CB people. Maybe this was just routine to them, only they were fighting aliens instead of other humans. But this wasn't the best time to be thinking of things like that, was it? "Allenby Beardsley, Nobel Gundam--ready, go!" she said over the comm as she launched.
Megazord Sequence Initiated
He had done everything possible to keep the Zords as familiar and comfortable as possible, well aware that they weren't quite like the other pilots. Working with mecha that weren't originally designed to fly was quite a hindrance too. But it could be done. It needed to be done.
Heart racing, he stood waiting for the next lift to depart to the launch area. Their Zord had been given the highest speed Billy could muster without sacrificing strength, but they would always be more of a slow powerhouse craft than an effective source of speedy attacks. T'was the nature of the beast.
"Come on, we can do this," Billy whispered, standing tall with his helmet held to the side. Some anxiety was good for performance, yes, but it wouldn't do to let it show too much. "Just remember our training and let the Power invigorate you. The extra energy spurs critical thinking under stressful conditions."
...yeah, okay, this pep talk thing? Not Billy's strong suit.
Re: Megazord Sequence Initiated
"Is that the best you can do, Billy?" Zedd responded as something massive came into view from the side of the Quarter:
Serpentera.
"We're in the fight of our lives, not a football game!" he snapped. "Everyone, OBLITERATE THEM! Leave NOTHING LEFT!"
no subject
The Highlander doesn't bother responding to Zedd, instead shoving his own unease at the thought of going into space aside. It's a new type of fighting, but fighting nevertheless, and that's never been something he's been afraid to do.
"Not can. We will do this. Rangers, let's show them what we've got, aye?"
