Library Time (Open)
For once, Ben hadn't deemed to go to the newly restocked Mr. Smoothie, or drive around. Nor was he beating on simulated monsters. Instead, he had been buried in a pile of books in the library, almost literally at times. He had purchased a lot of books and had been reading up on various things, including something that had been nagging at him for a while - Temporal Mechanics.
A lot of it was garbage from what he could tell, having experienced time travel in many forms. Discarding another book, he set it aside before picking up one and his eyes widened at the title. "Since when was this in here?"
The front of it read "Gemstones and Chrono Particles, a Dissertation of Time by P. Paradox."
Eagerly, Ben began to read it, pushing through the slightly bland material. Finally, after several hours, he set it down, rubbing his eyes. "It makes sense," he said, leaning back in his chair. "Now I get why Professor Paradox is so intent on protecting me."
The chapter he had opened to, was entitled "Cross-Time and You", and there was a symbol of the Omnitrix on it, or rather the Plumbers symbol on it. He chuckled ironically as he leaned back in the pile of books, trying to figure out how to deal with the knowledge that there were other timelines just as real as his own, with many Ben's sharing his face.

Maydril gave a sigh.
"So have you found anything pithy within? Worth sharing?" Despite the semi-sibling rivalry they had, the question was a serious one.
no subject
Ben furrowed his brow as he paged through it. "I don't know if he's being vague or anything, but he seems to be hinting to more stuff beyond my own timeline."
no subject
Sure, there had probably been time travel in the Nexus cities, but May had never dealt with any of that personally.
"It sounds confusing," she admitted.
no subject
"If that's the case, then while I'm still Ben, there's also other me out there, doing what we're supposed to be doing. Not fighting a war against a Bug Race."
no subject
Maydril's mouth twitched, and she frowned. "Well. I hope, any way. I hardly feel as if I am doing what I am supposed to here, where we are supposed to be fighting this war."
no subject
Ben shrugged, propping the book up in his hands. "If it weren't for this book I wouldn't be reading today."

Like her book situation with Sonya del Thunder's research. Ah well.
"I figure if this was back in Servryn the Knights, all of them, would simply band together and drive the Ohm back, as we do with the Uthmuri when they come over the mountains."
It was one of her favorite topics in the paintings back home.
no subject
"Yeah, we always want it to go that smoothly. Who knows really. Maybe it did happen?"
no subject
Maydril felt it had meaning here.
"And I do not sit and read all the time, but it is relaxing after a long day of running and push-ups and sword drills."
no subject
He snickered. "Training and training some more. When's the last time we've done something fun?"
no subject
"Did you have something in mind?"
no subject
"Got me. I've been running low on fun meters for a while."
no subject
"It is always warm in the ship. Maybe swimming?" That was always something she had liked. "Though I suppose I will have to find a swimsuit."
no subject
"Swimming sounds good though. We could go to the sensoriums and turn it into teh beach near Bellwood."
no subject
no subject
"C'mon it'll be fun."

Maydril thought a bit, then. "Perhaps some snacks too? Without mischief? I miss lemonade very much," she admitted.

She sighed.
"I miss my horse."
A shake of her head, and she continued. "So, very well, do we simply go do, or do we invite others? I am certain that we are not the only ones bored stiff around here."
no subject
"Yeah you've got a point. I could send a message. See who bites."
no subject
She chuckled a little. "You should try riding a horse some time. And conversely I will let you try to teach me to drive. I imagine horses might be easier. Maybe. I am more familiar with them, so I admit I am biased."
no subject
Ben grinned. "Well, I guess I could do that. It would be easier at least."
no subject
"In any case I had best go find Reinforce and see if we have swimsuit material. If not it may get interesting." She chuckled softly, and got to her feet, leaving the book she'd been reading on the arm of her chair.
"I shall see you soon then, brother. And if you need anything, do not hesitate to call me!"
