The Change [open]

Neither Rachel nor Marco had any real trust in the medical situation they'd both been forced into. It seemed like they had been tricked and betrayed; and it meant that there were instantly a few more people crossed off their list of who they should trust when they escaped. In fact-- it left them at each other, it seemed, when they did escape from medical, two cockroaches slipping out of sight while medical was distracted from them.

Of course, this was compounded by the fact that several communications posts went up shortly after-- one announcing a Quarantine (thankfully they'd gotten out in time for that) and one announcing their abilities to the crew to warn them. And then things got worse-- Marco's morphing began to get weird, and Rachel... literally split into two.

This wasn't going well.

((ooc: As Blue's OOC post said, we need to make sure that only the people signed up for taking the two 'groups' (Nice Rachel and Marco in one corner, just Mean Rachel in the other) to Quarantine are the ones who actually do that. Other than that, feel free to try and do it! Tag under the header for whoever you want to thread with and feel free set the scene, and ours will enter in. :) ))

To say that Marco was feeling stressed right would be an understatement.

Visser One was on board and being protected by Kang, the whole crew knew about their morphing and thought they had some kind of memory problem, and when he'd tried to morph it had just gone wrong.

And underneath it all was just this...niggling worry that he hadn't even thought of since before he'd woken up. He just kept thinking of the fct that back home, his dad had been wanting to marry Nora. And fuck, what the hell would happen when he woke up? Would he be married to her? What was Mom going to think, if he ever even managed to get her free?

What he didn't need though, was someone finding them. He couldn't trust anybody, not when the crew all though they needed to be Quarantined. Even if the fact that Rachel had split into two again and he couldn't even morph properly anymore had given him the unsettling feeling that something was wrong with them.

He swore and grabbed Nice Rachel's arm, trying to drag her into another corridor and slip away from Aang.

"I am!" he said, running up along the wall with a gust of air and flipping so he was blocking their way.

"Marco, you need to stop and actually listen. Just for a second! You're sick. You need to go back to Medbay."

Once again, Marco cursed the fact that he couldn't morph. Marco doubted they could take Aang on even with morphing - without it, they had pretty much no chance.

"Kang claims I'm sick," Marco said, wary. "The guys protects Yeerks, Aang, no matter who their hurting. Like hell you can trust him."

Nice Rachel let out a yelp of surprise when Aang-- that's what MArco called him, right?-- blocked their path using air. That was weird.

"Marco's totally right!" Rachel said, voice earnest. "He's totally spilling secrets and stuff that he shouldn't be, right?"

"Whatever you might think of Kang or the others, you're not the only ones acting weird. My friend Zuko doesn't remember certain things too, and he's treating me and my friends differently because of it. The same thing you're going through is happening to other people. Check your omnicom even! Zuko has stuff on there that he never would have done before. He took a picture and he even looks different!"
livestoannoy: (Why yes I'm going to be sarcastic)

[personal profile] livestoannoy 2011-04-27 07:49 am (UTC)(link)
"I haven't forgotten anything, Marco insisted. "And you're pointing fingers at the Grass Killer just cause he looks different? Seriously? You know, there's this thing called 'hair cuts'. Maybe if you had hair, you'd know about them."

[identity profile] jesushasayak.livejournal.com 2011-04-27 08:21 am (UTC)(link)
"He's also doing a little thing called 'taking people hostage,'" Aang pointed out. "Which is something he used to do when he was a bad guy but doesn't anymore. Zuko changed. Now it's like he doesn't even remember that. Which means there is something going on here, and if it's something that's wrong with more than one person that means it's something that's actually wrong."

Aang gestured with his hands.

"Maybe there are people you can't trust, and maybe you're right, maybe the problem is with everyone else around you. But how can we figure it out and fix it either way if you're running? And if you are sick with something, is it worth the risk of making other people sick?"

"Uh-huh. Sure. Whatever you say," Marco said dryly, clearly not believing Aang. "And if you don't want to be 'sick' you can get out of the way. The rest of the ship can deal after we find Visser One." He glanced at Nice Rachel, and then started backtracking, heading down another corridor. "Come on," he said to her.

Nice Rachel had been about ready to try and protest, but Marco was telling her to go and she had to do that, right? Marco was so smart, he knew what he was doing! She nodded and started to follow Marco down the corridor he was going down, saying, "We, like, have priorities, right?"

"Marco, wait!"

Monkeyfeathers. He wasn't going to talk them out of this, was he. There was too much fear, too much paranoia. And he didn't want to have to fight anyone to bring them in, even if he knew it might be a possibility if he found Zuko.

So he stayed behind and gave up. Or at least seemed to.

At the very least he could tell the others where he'd last seen Marco and Rachel.
