Setting Up The Home [Open]

It had taken a meeting with Negi and handing over the keys, but Shiori had a place to herself. True it was the now defunct Atelier Elric, but she kept the name. One of the things she had learned when she had been sent off for school due to Fate’s insistence, was that she learned how to do the basics of magic.

As such, she put a sign up. “Now Re-opened, doing small scale transmutations and potions. Inquire within.”

Shiori hoped this would attract people who were coming near the circle of small shops, and she lit the burner that she had, and began to brew, getting lost in the motions.

With any luck, she wouldn’t have to worry too much about things as she turned on the music player which started in on a fairly nice song, and she began to hum along with it as she set to work, skirt swishing along as she fairly danced about.

She nodded. "The longer I'm on this ship, the more I believe that to be true. I've met a lot of people on the ship, and each of them are special to me in one way or another."

She smiled. "I get a hint of mint here, and maybe a little bit of..I don't know, blossom maybe?"

"That's good then," chuckled Shiori with a nod. "I... wouldn't mind counting you as a friend."

"Mint, blossom, maybe a little cherry."

"I feel the same way," Kaya said, smiling. "Have you at least reconciled with Asuna though? You were the one impersonating her after all, and from what I've seen, she has a bit of a short fuse."

She also yelled at Negi more than she would have liked, but that was just how the two of them seemed to get along.

"I've spoken with Hime-sama, and I intend to do more of that later on," said Shiori as she took a sip of tea. "Hime-sama is... very boisterous, and I admire her for that. She's a lot of things I wish I was. Hot tempered and loud yes, but she's kind and gentle when you get to know her."

She nodded. "Oh, I figured that out. If anyone was going to be Negi's partner, it had to be someone strong and opinionated to look after Negi. I've definitely seen her be very overbearing, but I also know that she'll be the one to help him in the end. At least the two of you get along, though."

"She is very well suited for him," said Shiori with a bit of a wistful tone in her voice. "Not only she's strong willed and beautiful, but she's a princess, and he's a prince. It's like a fairytale, although their own stories are built on tragedy."

Shiori blushed at the last bit. "I'd... like to think at least that Hime-sama and I understand one another."

"You speak very highly of her," Kaya noticed. "I can tell that you admire her quite a bit too. I know that most people would probably overlook her because Negi is the one who can do magic, but Asuna is pretty amazing in her own way."

She shrugged. "Of course, Negi is dating Sasami, isn't he? So it isn't as if Asuna is WITH him in that way."

Now why would you possibly mention that, Kaya?

There was a mental "FFFFF!" in Shiori's motions, thinking of the possibilities. Her cheeks positively pinked at both of those things. "Negi-kun... is dating? And it's not Hime-sama?"

Kaya giggled. "Yes, he's dating! Sasami is a pretty good catch too, and she's very sweet to him. As for Asuna, she seems ok with it too: I think she had a preference for older men anyway."

"Oh I see. Older men, is it?" Shiori got a thoughtful expression on her face. "Was... she seeing anyone before I arrived?"

Kaya nodded. "I'm not sure, to be honest, although I sort of think that she liked Matt, my boyfriend, for a little bit. So right now, I think she's free. You can always ask her of course!"

"I-I see... Someone who would take up Hime-sama's attentions away from Negi-kun must be incredible indeed." Shiori was a little red in the cheeks as she sipped her tea for a bracing shot.

"Considering Negi is the one who has the girlfriend, its probably the other way around," Kaya said, noting how THAT was what Shiori said. "I mean, Negi does tend to have girls coming after him too. I hear on the marriage planet, he has two girls somehow, both looking around his age."

"Really?" That was a twist. Most girls that were around his age didn't really like him like that, but maybe it was different here. He certainly had a variety of women chasing after him in one form or another back home.

"It's odd. Maybe I should talk to Hime-sama as soon as possible."

"Yeah well, there's Sasami, and some of the girls that train with him. I mean, I might be wrong, I don't know all the details, but he definitely is dating Sasami. Anyone else, you'd just have to ask."

She grinned. "Yes, yes you should."

"I'll have to double check then." Shiori sipped her tea, trying to calm her nerves again as she heard Kaya's statement which made her blush.

"I... I don't really know what to say though..."

"Just talk to her like you are to me, except about other things," Kaya said. "Really, its as simple as just setting up a situation you two can enjoy. And what's wrong with just having lunch and talking? You don't have to overthink anything."

"Don't have to..." Shiori nodded, smiling for once as she took a deep drink and set down her cup. "You're right of course. I don't want to overthink this. I just fret too much. I'll ask Hime-sama out!"

Kaya grinned. "In that case, I wish you luck. It can be pretty hard to be alone on this ship, and you already have two friends from your world. If you had someone you cared about that much, I'm sure it would make your situation more bearable."

"That's right," said Shiori, feeling emboldened by the way Kaya was giving her a peptalk. "I should talk to Hime-sama, and tell her how I feel!"

Um, Kaya? How in the world did you manage to get her to confess her dark yuritastic girlcrush?

"Right, and no matter what happens, you two are both still going to be good friends," Kaya said, smiling. It made her think of Matt, actually. She really wanterd to go and see him, see how he was dealing with that darkness.

Simple. She just figured out there was a crush and turned into sensible/matchmaking Kaya.

"Right, I'll do that. I'll send her a message as soon as I can then. Thanks." Shiori smiled, rubbing her neck a little, blushing heavily.

Awww~

Kaya smiled. "Good. And if you ever need to find me just hop over to the Outsider's hotel and find me, or leave a note on the Omnicomm. If I'm not at the hideout or training, its probably my shift in the medical bay."

"Sounds perfect. Thank you so much." Said Shiori with a wide smile.
