In Which the Overlord Has the Least Subtle De-age Ever [Open]

Another day in the Overlord's Fortress.

Today, Zetta sat in his throne lazily, feet up on the most freaking sweet ottoman in creation, grinding out a few levels of the freaking sweet new game he'd picked up on XaXing (Nuclear Death Apocalypse Extravaganza: The Annihilation of All Mankind: Tactics) on his freaking 99" widescreen TV.

Yeah, he'd gone pretty wild at XaXing, to judge from the various tapestries and banner's now hanging on the walls, the statues positioned in key places around the fortress courtyard, the sapling planted in one corner that visibly distorted time around it, and various and sundry other luxury goods.

Oh yeah, and he apparently had a body. What's up with that?

[[OOC: So, uh, since Zetta's de-age is, as noted, as subtle as the Overlord himself, and we don't want an obvious reveal too soon, it would be appreciated if any characters who wander by not run off to tell lots of important people quite yet. ^.^ ]]

Meanwhile Lash was working on some sort of four in one transforming vehicle.

This...might take some time.

"How are you even DOING that?" Zetta said, watching her in alarm.

"I'm just using the movement nodes and articulation models that they carefully put into this simulation game and abusing then." She installed some sort of large grappling gun in the front. "Since I'm not using up all my points, I can invest in the higher grade materials which will boost the vehicle's resistance and..." there was a lot of jargon coming out of her mouth for the next few minutes.

However once she was done, the vehicle looked pretty impressive.

"I can't even begin to tell you what's wrong with that," the Overlord grumbled.

"Say that again when entire rows of robots will be completely obliterated by this death machine."

"Don't MAKE me switch to 'Decade of Loathing: Tournament Edition'." He leaned one arm on his knee, chin propped on his hand as he waited.

Oh you did so not open yourself to that one, Zetta. "What's this? Is The Great Overlord afraid of loosing at a video game against a simple human girl?"

"Hey, Overlord powers do not include cheating at games!" he said. "That would be beneath the indignity of the office!"

"And I am not cheating! Simply abusing a clearly badly written and programmed customization robot setup. There's a huge difference! I'm still completely inside the legal bound rules of this game!"

"I still say you'd make a pretty good demon, Lash," he said, shaking his head. But he's grinning.

"Will see once I'm dead." Which might not be for a while. "I'm going to guess that demons like to...ahem...'bend' the rules as much as they can get away with it, don't they?" It made perfect sense. Heck, it wasn't like Black Hole or any of the other Nations using the CO powers didn't count as slightly bending the rules. So much for fighting fairly when the powers game into play.

"So are you ready, or are we going to wait forever?" Yes, she knew he had finished building a giant robot himself forever ago.

"Damn straight," Zetta said, as he hit the start button. "Evil is in our job description!"

Alright, it was time to get serious! The game began to load.



Lash had no idea who this president was or the United States, but she could appreciate a guy who drove around in a giant customized battle-suit. Eventually the game flipped over to their control and a Robot Zetta and uh...Transforming Robot Model Lash X2354 were ready to rampage across the city and recapture the country. Or something.

Oh look Lash was already pushing down a nearby building.

"The president?" Zetta said out loud as they watched the intros. "That's funny. I thought he got kidnapped by ninjas."

Oh well. Zetta engrossed himself in kicking cars into orbit. Plotline, what plotline?

"I thought presidents were merely puppet figures for the military leaders to control," Lash added, used to this systematic rule back in her home world. "Unless they were already the military leaders like Kanbei."

The robot transformed and she flew into the air to blow up the nearby enemy planes. Not really advancing the plot or anything. Just to shoot things in the air.

"This camera system sucks."

...is there any situation you do NOT have an icon for?

"Either that, evil, or ineffective," Zetta said. Take THAT, democracy. "And they all suck, Lash. You just ignore it and keep playing."

Were the Zettarockets detonating a BIT TOO CLOSE to Lash? Yes, yes they were.

Considering she's from an unpopular fandom I'm surprised sometimes myself.

Ignoring it, she did. The Nameless President Guy obviously had two of the best wingmen at his disposal, as the AI kept telling them to get back on the path to help him out.

Instead there was now a war growing on between them. Or at least in Lash's eyes anyway.

"Hey! Don't think I didn't see that!" Retaliation came in the form of a counter missile blowing up the building that Zetta was working on. Yeah that's right, she just let you damage the entire thing and finished off to take one of your building kills.

Yes, these two heroes will totally save the day.

That is entirely in their natures. Heroism. Valor. Stuff.

In retaliation, Zetta planted a missile directly into the engine of a jet that would have been an easy and glorious kill for Lash.

Definitely save the day.

In counter-counter retaliation Lash...pushed Zetta's right elbow with one of her feet while she continued to play with both her hands and lay waste to all her enemies.

"Think fast!" Technically it wasn't cheating. Just bending the rules. Or in this case, pushing someone.

Of course it wasn't cheating. That was standard Netherworld tactics!

The Overlord countered by turning sideways on the throne to lean heavily on her as he played. Luckily his hair doesn't burn quite as much as it looks like it ought to.

But it still did in some way, or at least got an initial reaction from Lash at seeing the flames around her and she yelp out, nearly dropping the controller. The giant robot she piloted in the game swirled around in the sky and smashed into a building before exploding, making her lose a life. Okay. This was war.

"Hey!!" Forget the fact she had been playing dirty a bit before, now she was going to go all out and take advantage he was now turned sideways. Was the so-called great Overlord ticklish in the sides? Only one way to find out.

W-what the--?!

That was a tactic he'd never have expected Lash to deploy! And Magog help him... He let out a sputtering laugh that turned into a choke as he tried to bite it off. The Zettarobot started running in circles as he reflexively hunched forward and started elbowing her. "C-cut it out!"

Ladies and gentleman, Lash and Zetta: like, four years old.

Lash was full of surprises.

"Tee hee hee!" At this point she'd mostly forgotten the game, finding it much more amusing knowing that he was ticklish than anything else. She tried to dodge the elbowing and make it worse. "I totally heard that laughter!"

Uh, yeah and I guess the terrorists were taking over the city from the helpless president at this point.

"Y-you didn't hear anything!" Zetta said, half-turning back to shove at her with one arm.

"Not so tough when you get a case of the giggles huh?" Your feeble attempts were just going to make her try harder.
