In Which the Overlord Has the Least Subtle De-age Ever [Open]

Another day in the Overlord's Fortress.

Today, Zetta sat in his throne lazily, feet up on the most freaking sweet ottoman in creation, grinding out a few levels of the freaking sweet new game he'd picked up on XaXing (Nuclear Death Apocalypse Extravaganza: The Annihilation of All Mankind: Tactics) on his freaking 99" widescreen TV.

Yeah, he'd gone pretty wild at XaXing, to judge from the various tapestries and banner's now hanging on the walls, the statues positioned in key places around the fortress courtyard, the sapling planted in one corner that visibly distorted time around it, and various and sundry other luxury goods.

Oh yeah, and he apparently had a body. What's up with that?

[[OOC: So, uh, since Zetta's de-age is, as noted, as subtle as the Overlord himself, and we don't want an obvious reveal too soon, it would be appreciated if any characters who wander by not run off to tell lots of important people quite yet. ^.^ ]]

"You'd still have been going like a hundred and twenty when you hit the ground. That's kind of a sudden stop." Why did the image of Lash's body reduced to a pulpy smear on the ground make him upset?

It's because they'd blame him, of course! Yeah, that's definitely it.

"I'm sure there would have been a haystack or a series of boxes to stop my fall," she countered, ever the optimist in the face of certain doom. "I've done worse."

This was probably true.

"What the hell have you done that's worse?" Zetta demanded, nearly clipping a building as he looked at her. He'd had a good two inches to spare, don't complain!

"A tactical retreat from giant creatures which could melt your body on contact, for one." By which she meant the time her and Hawke and run away from the Oozium 238. "Giant four hundred foot tall death rays exploding and falling down to the earth, being stuck inside a building when a self destruct sequence was started, that time we did a neotank prototype test and it flew down the mountain before I had time to activate my powers..."

The life of a Black Hole Commander was never boring, let me tell you.

"Huh." Okay, Zetta had to admit he was kind of impressed by that list, especially given Lash's pretty tiny number of years compared to any demon. "Someday you're gonna have to give me a life story, Lash."

"Maybe if you somehow manage to beat me in EX:ForGE, huh?"

"If I play by your rules, I can beat you easy." Step one, unplug her controller.

"Nope." She said it in such an annoying way too. Like Zetta had no chance at all.

"That's some brave talk from a tickle... doing... jerk!" Zetta fumbled. "I'll kick your ass any day of the week! If we even had a week!"

Amazing how one little word could get the Overlord riled up. She almost simply repeated it again to see how long she could string him along, but there was a fine line between making people angry and getting them really angry at her. And she wasn't at war with Zetta. Figuratively.

"Tee hee hee," she replied in her usual cheerful voice, taking off the sunglasses and spinning then in the air. "Fine then, bring it on! This is definitely a game I won't loose in." The president had clearly the best wing-men in those two.

Zetta had yet to get really angry while on the ship. As is evident by the fact that the ship still existed. He was just SO easy to rile.

"You're going down, Lash!"

And that's what was so fun about it.

"Nop--I mean there's no way I can loose!" The sunglasses were put in the glove compartment again. "After all this crazy driving, think you can get back to your castle easy enough?"

Because you know. Men. Cars. Asking for directions. She was just teasing again.

Zetta spun the car around in a skidding 180 so quickly it took the car a few thousand feet before it actually stopped going in the direction it had been and started moving in its new forward direction again. "Never underestimate the power of an Overlord!"

Once her brain had found its proper place after the spinning, the Overlord's excitement appeared almost infectious for the wunderkind, and she was holding on to the side of the car a little more tightly as if she was expecting something to happen very soon.

"Ha! You still aren't at the castle yet! What's the holdup? We're going pretty slowly!"

"Your body couldn't handle the acceleration!" Zetta taunted right back. Seriously, they had gone really, really far in all that mayhem. The City was just huge.

"I bet I could." Probably? Who knew what the Overlord could do with a car. "As long as I can still breathe, I don't see the problem." You're talking to a girl who rides on top of giant robots! Granted she isn't in her sentai suit right now, but she can still totally take a bit of car acceleration.

"...You sure?" He's double-checking, Lash, this is where a normal person would be very, very afraid.

"As long as you don't kill me on purpose." she replied, sure as sure as a crazy wunderkind would be.

Quick as thought, Zetta reached over, unbuckled her seat belt, then scooped one arm around her waist to haul her out of the car as he jumped out of it with her. He landed in front of it, caught the front bumper, then smoothly turned to hurl it off into the distance.

A sphere of mana power formed around his body, then burst inward as he leaped with all the demonic force he possessed. Yeah, that acceleration should have killed her, but the mana power protected her. Enjoy a very brief trip at ludicrous speeds as a sonic boom shattered the windows they shot past!

Less than a second later, they landed in the middle of Zetta's fortress courtyard. Casually, the Overlord reached up, caught the car as it tumbled out of the sky, then set it gently down.

"Fast enough for ya?"

It happened too fast for Lash to protest anything, but hell like she was going to complain the whole ten seconds after it was over.

"I think your windows are broken," she snickered, looking down at the car. "But I guess that's pretty fast." She was pretty impressed, but she wasn't going to tell him.

"Uh...you can put me down now."

"Naw. They're rolled down," Zetta said, and -- oh right! He put her down. "I guess you survived. Good for you."

"I was sure I heard some glass being broken for about half a second." Maybe it had been the buildings around them, she wasn't sure. ""Like I told you. I don't die that easily!"

"You're definitely more brutal than the average girl your age," Zetta said, kicking back onto the couch where they'd started this whole adventure.

"Tee hee hee! It's true! And you're more...actually I haven't seen that many other demons, so I can't judge." Lash shrugged with a grin. "I guess you better start practicing if you're going to bet me on that game on day in another log."

"Every one you see after me will be a disappointment, same as anything else of ANYthing you see," he said, oh so modest. "But you're right. I'll start practicing my victory dance right away. I think I'll start with a little 'in your face, Lash!' followed by some 'Hyaaa ha ha ha ha ha!' Buuut maybe I'll mix it up."
