Monsters and Mazes

As you enter the Sensorium today you find a most peculiar sight.

A large black wall with a 8-bit logo reading "Monsters and Mazes"

And two simple words.

"Start Game."

Upon choosing this a new menu appears showing a series of options:

Fighter
Paladin
Hunter
Rogue
Wizard
Cleric
Bard

What to do what to do?

"Oh? Doomed them from what? You?" Bight asked with a raised eyebrow, shaking his head at the threat, "Perhaps I should put you back to sleep shall I?" he commented off hand, unperturbed in the least by cat in his grip as he took the road towards town.

"No damnit!" She sighed and flopped limply once more. "Those undead were this towns best chance at over throwing the cruel lord that's been using them like his own personal playthings. I was supposed to use them to kill him but who knows what's going to happen now that you've ruined my spell.

The city was quiet as a sigh. Not a single person stirred in the street. No voices from the houses as they came through. The houses were old looking and many in needed of repair. Some shopfronts were abandoned and empty as well.

"Well then, there is more than one way to over throw a corrupted lord if it is as you say," He replied, none to bothered by the 'revelation'. "The dead are best kept undisturbed,"

Bight strode through the town, taking in the signs of decay and abandonment, from what he gathered it would not be hard to find this 'lord's' place of residence, just had to look for the well maintained building.

And sure enough he'd be right. A single tower in the center of town was shiny and strong, complete with a pair of half orc guards in front of the door.

"Where is everyone..." The Cat woman wondered peering over his shoulder in the direction they had just come. "This is probably your fault too. Who knows what sort of chaos you've caused by ruining my spell!!!" She was at least quiet as to not alert the guards to their approach.

Well that was simple enough to find, though he paused but a moment to peer down to the Cat woman, "Oh? Stopping the summoning of the dead causing the townsfolk to disappear? Perhaps they might know," he stated wryly as he nodded to the two guards.

With a confident bearing he strode up toward the guards, as if he had all the reason on the world to be there, "A quiet evening wouldn't you say, good sirs?" He called out in greeting, "Now if you'd be so kind to let me through, your lord sent for me and I see no reason to keep him waiting," He added with a good hint of authority, after all a +41 bluff goes a long way.

The two guards looked at each other suspiciously. The lord hadn't informed them of any visitors for the evening.

Casting a wary glance upward though his room was still lit so it was likely he was awake. "You go with him, I'll stay here." One said to the other.

"Why do I have to go with him? Why don't you go with him?"

"Because I'm the boss."

"Since when?"

"Since always!"

"Oh for gods sakes shut up both of you!" The cat formerly a woman hissed in frustration which caused them both to stop and stare.

"That cat just talked." The first one observed.
