Podpop
[ooc: Newbie Helpers List | Instructions: Post your character with one post establishing them as being podpopped. Tag each other in groups of 2's, 3's, and 4's, to get some interaction to start with. If a thread doesn't already have 2 or 3 people tagged in, tag it with your character's podpop popping near the other people, rather than making a new subthread. If you would like to play out them talking to the AI, please send an email to the mods making the request--we do this only by request. Then move onto the big Newbie Meeting. Once your character has gotten the rundown from the old crew, you may start posting entrance posts and freely tagging.]
||Pod Release Protocols Initating|| Stacy's familiar voice sounds out to all the podmates through the ship.
In the Pod Caverns, there are the sounds of: Pop. Pop pop pop. Poppuhpoppoppop. KASCHUNKhiiiiiiiissssss.
There is condensation and mist spraying out from cracks in the pods, as the people inside slide out onto the floors, covered in slime.
--
There was nothing. You were going about your normal life, then there was a bright light, and then? Nothing.
Then the world lurches.
The chamber here is humid.
Actually, "chamber" isn't quite accurate. You're in a cavern, half-lit by an eerie greenish light, going on and on as far as the eye can see. The light is coming from what can only be described as pods, glistening, round greenish-yellow things, glowing with a pale inner light, outlining human -- and not quite human -- forms. Each is rooted to the floor, to the walls, with something black, twisted, and unidentifiable.
They line the walls of the cavern, go up in maddeningly high columns, curling and corkscrewing up into the darkness, until the light from them is like that of the stars, glowing pale and mournful in clusters in the darkness above. Twisted walkways and stairs crisscross, traverse the platforms in front of the pods, wending their way back and forth, up and down through the chamber.
You just came from one of those pods, broke free like a butterfly from a (slimy, nasty) chrysalis.
Now you stand alone but not quite alone, naked, not knowing how you got there, who took you, or why you were taken.
As your body heats up again, you realize the air is warm -- just a few degrees too warm to be comfortable -- and muggy; it smells acrid and organic, like freshly spilt blood and sweat. Your mouth tastes of salt.
The floors are pulsing under your feet, throbbing...
Wherever you are, this entire place...is alive.
Oh, and also you're naked and covered in alien snot.
When you call out, ask where you are, a voice speaks to you, in your head. She tells you:
||You are here.||
When you ask who she is, she tells you that her name is STA'C K'LTRRB'TXFT, but that you may call her Stacy. When she tells you who she is, there is a gush of emotion, love, maternal warmth. You are on a ship. She is that ship. Her name is Stacy and she loves you. Her voice is warm and motherly, even if these messages sound almost automated.
Glowing phosphorescent lights appear in pustules along the floor. They lead you up a massive spiraling walkway that gives you a view of what are possibly millions in stasis. At the top is a room with moving vines that clean you and clothe you in a plant-like body-suit--soft, but durable. After that, the lights lead you to a great cavernous room with a clear floor that lets you see all the holes and tunnels in the walls of it. When you reach the center, the last thing she tells you before whisking you away to gather your belongings and meet the rest of the crew is this reassuring thought:
||You have been Chosen to accomplish a Great Purpose. You have been Chosen to help fight the Ohm, a race of insectoid beings that are the destroyers of worlds.||
||You have been Chosen as champions of life, as protectors of the worlds and peoples that are left. The others are waiting for you. They will explain everything.||
She will tell you nothing more. Your answers lie with these "others" she speaks of.

Azula couldn't stand it anymore. First the visions, then the voices in her head, this room, the smells, it was all too much! And people, everywhere there were people. People who could hurt her, people who would hurt her!
Eyes sharp and unfocused, she barred her teeth and tried to work her way through the room with her back to a wall. Great purpose? Champion of Life? HA! Azula knew what her great purpose was. She was supposed to be the first Female Fire Lord of the Fire Nation.
But that had been taken away from her...

Whoever this woman was, she didn't look like she was taking things in stride. At all. Midna peered at Azula a little more closely under that alien-looking slime.
"Oh, a human, huh? Bet this must be a real treat for you. Eee hee!"
pft X3 I was just about to tag yours. Awesome <3
"A treat?" She growled, "Don't think you can mock me just because you're not real." She retorted jabbing a quivering finger at Midna. She had long since grown tired of her hallucinations. This one was just lasting longer then the rest.
:DDD
Midna cackled, rolling back in the air ever so slightly, as if she were leaning back in some invisible chair. "So, are you real, then? Because if you're not, you could have imagined yourself not covered in a bunch of goop and saved yourself the trouble. You can call me Midna, by the way."
Re: :DDD
"I am Princess Azula of the Fire Nation." She responded almost automatically "And I assure you I am very real!" Though these days she wasn't entirely sure herself.
Re: :DDD
"So, do princesses of the Fire Nation usually wander around without a jot to wear? Or is that a personal hobby?"
Re: :DDD
I'm sorry, Midna's such a troll
That's one of her best features :D
it's true!
Just a little bit.
"Why not come with me, then? We can try and find something for you to wear, at least."
Re: it's true!
Is it okay for Midna to remove a little of Azula's slime?
Midna couldn't help rolling her eyes a little at Azula's demands -- out of her line of sight, of course. "Okay, Princess, we'll try and find you your robe."
She floated by Azula's side. "Let's try and follow those lights, hmm? Maybe they lead somewhere."
Sexy~ I mean uh...go for it. :P
That made sense to Azula, but never the less she kept looking over her shoulder. Other people were still behind her and there were people ahead of them. Too many people. Any one of them could slip a knife between her ribs the moment she let her guard down.
So the only logical option of coarse was to be prepared to counter any attack that would dare come her way! Yes...yes she would not die this day. Not in this dream.
Not again.
Re: Sexy~ I mean uh...go for it. :P
"Hey, are you okay? You look kind of nervous. You don't have anyone after you, do you?"
She motioned ever so slightly in the air, and with an audible pop!, the slime covering Azula's face and the hair around it dissolved into black-and-green specks, leaving at least part of her clean -- she'd have gotten rid of it all, but she figured slime was better than wearing nothing at all. "That's a little better."
Re: Sexy~ I mean uh...go for it. :P
"An assassin could strike at any moment, even in my hallucinations I'm not safe." She snarled with a wild almost feral look in her eyes. "I may be overthrown but I'm still alive. And Zuzu knows that as long as I live he will never be safe!"

"I'm not trying to hurt you, you know. I just thought you might feel a little better without all that goop in your eyes."

"...Yeah, I'm sure she will." Maybe she could find some kind of doctor in this joint, but all Midna could see right now were people in basically the same state of undress and afflicted with varying degrees of confusion. "So you've got some doctors on you, huh? Guess they don't let other people visit much."
no subject
"Oh I know!" She began as she ripped her hands into fists again, "Perhaps my back stabbing so called friends!!!" swung a leg up high up over her own head in a display of flexibility and brought it down hard to the ground. An explosion of blue fire erupted in all directions causing some of the freshly popped to yelp and scramble for cover as she stood in the middle of the smoke and flame that was already dissipating.
"I have no one and nothing. Not even my father anymore." And as the smoke clear twin trails of tears could be seen shining on her face. She didn't even appear to be aware she was crying yet.

She didn't know what Azula had done before ending up here, or whether she'd deserved whatever punishment she'd received, but seeing her cry like that kind of tugged at Midna's newly-acquired feelings of guilt.
Midna patted Azula awkwardly on the shoulder, not knowing what else to say or do. "Hey, it'll be okay. I'm, uh. Sure we'll find your robe."

Something horrible was going to happen to her in this dream. She could feel it coming.
no subject
It hadn't felt like magic to her, not really, but that wasn't the kind of thing normal humans were capable of.
no subject
...best to stray from that train of thought and focus on fire. Yes beautiful fire. Even in her less then focused state of being she had enough instinct that she created a flame in her hand and held it for warmth. It burned a cold blue shade casting shadows on the area.

Fine. Might as well play the game.
"In the world there are special people, gifted with the ability to control the elements trough training and study. Fire is the greatest of these elements obviously and I have spent my life perfecting my skill in service to my father the Firelord."
That was possibly the most coherent stable thing she had said since arriving.
