Ever since he'd talked to Aang and watched the guy swimming around with an imaginary dolphin, Marco had been kinda missing his dolphin morph. The dolphin morph was, without fail, always fun. And hey, Marco was definitely a fan of fun.
So he'd called up the pier over the ocean again, jumped into the water, and morphed dolphin. Marco clicked happily as the dolphin's bubbly personality rose up. He needed to play a game!
Angling his fins, Marco started swimming around underneath the pier, swerving inbetween the poles. He needed to go faster!

As far as he could tell, there was no one else here. Did the Sensoriums continue creating illusions even after its users had already left?
He scanned the horizon, listening to the sound of the distant waves crashing up against the surf.

Looks like Marco had someone to play with! With a dolphin grin, Marco swam right underneath Zoichi, and jumped up, hitting the boards right underneath Zoichi's feet with his nose.
no subject
Or an enemy?
His hand went immediately to his side, where his pistol was holstered, as he scanned the water for additional movement.

But the game wasn't over yet: Marco waited a few moments - just enough to try and lull Zoichi into a false sense of security - before coming up at the side of the pier and slamming his head into the water, creating a giant splash that was going to completely cover Zoichi with water.

The dolphin couldn't be the one running this simulation, could it?
...doubtful.
"You think this pier belongs to you or something?" he asked, not really expecting an answer.

And such is the case again, when Cassie's house has felt too small and foreign, so she's once again looking to make a beach or vista or some kind of vacation spot at the Sensoriums. It seems someone's beaten her to it, but looking around she sees no one - except the occasional flash of a dolphin in the water.
Well, only a few people that could be, and as far as Eva remembers Rachel's preferred flying. "Well, that's one way to save money on swimming lessons."

She stared down at the pier, considering how cold the water might be.
no subject
And you were about to find out how cold the water was, because Marco was going to splash you with his tail. Just give him a moment to ogle first.

It wasn't just a backyard anymore. Assuming he could find Amy, he knew at least that he could take back.
Peering into the used sensorium, the Doctor took in a pier jutting out from the door into a sparkling blue ocean. He started to pull away when he spotted what looked like a --
"Dolphin!" The Doctor's face brightened. "I haven't seen one of your lot in awhile!"
Was it real? Where was the person who'd summoned the setting? The Doctor stepped inside, automatically tested the weight threshold of the pier because you tended to just do that after falling through enough weak floors, and headed to the edge of the pier. The Doctor crouched at the end, hands slung over his knees as he watched the dolphin.

Well, Marco magnanimously decided that the Doctor was forgiven for inflicting That Otter upon him. Besides, they had more important things to like right now. Like playing around! Marco slapped the water with his nose twice, splashing the Doctor with water, before opening his mouth into a big grin and clicking.
Why yes, Marco was laughing at you.

Trying to decide if he felt like trying to click back and see where it got him, the Doctor stripped out of his jacket. He knew by experience that soggy tweed wasn't a very nice smell, after all...that was assuming the water here wouldn't just vanish once he left the sensorium.
Jacket off, the Doctor got on his hands and knees on the pier and gave a test series of clicks and whistles at his dolphin friend. Well, possibly fake dolphin friend, considering the fake pier; fake water; fake everything in the sensorium.
"Good morning, wonderful fake weather we're having", would have been what he would have tried to say, if he was using the correct dialect of Bottlenose Dolphin.
Or maybe that was in Spinner Dolphin and not Bottlenose...

Course, the fact that Marco wasn't a real dolphin at all might have had something to do with the fact that he couldn't understand one click the Doctor was saying. And the fact that he didn't even realise that the Doctor was trying to speak an actual language, rather than just making random clicky noises.
Marco clicked back again - and while he wasn't actually trying to say anything, the clicks did have the general tone of, You idiot, what the hell are you doing trying to talk to a dolphin.

On the other hand, avoidance was also not something she favored, which is why she'd let herself wander this way today. She knew how these worked, in theory. She hadn't expected that she'd find one currently in use when she'd walked in.
She was vaguely embarrassed that she had, if it didn't stop her from looking around at the beach setting, straightening up as she called out. "Hello? Anyone in here?"
Moving further in, she wondered at the setting. It was different than the beaches she'd seen in her lifetime. This was an interesting contrast to observe as she made her way toward the pier.

<No,> Marco answered, making a big dolphin grin.
no subject
"Does that make you a nobody?" She walked out on the pier itself, still looking around for Marco. "I wouldn't want confusion over that point in the future."
no subject
<I'm somebody enough,> he said, making dolphin clicks and whistles that sounded suspiciously like laughing.

"Just-dolphin!"
And yes, he was stripping his robes off again, slipping off his shoes, and jumping in for a swim alongside the fascinating critter, wearing only his plant-suit pants.
Who cared of it was imaginary?
no subject
And hey, he could be fun to play with! Especially if he did some of that funky water moving stuff. He was around Aang in circles, clicking, and wondered how he was going to get Aang to make some waves without actually talking to him.
no subject
And despite the apparent power behind his...well, power, they were anything but rough.
no subject
Okay, he had to admit: Aang's powers? Cool.
