Where we Stand (The Outsider's training Post)

[I wanna bendy time this to two days after the announcement, so it won't seem too random.]

She felt guilty that she had taken this long. They had met several weeks ago, and she had made a promise to get to training as soon as she could. Sadly, things came up that had forced her to take some time for herself: she was in a better place now, and it was time to get back to business. uh

When it came down to it, the marriage planet had been good for couples, but her interest was with what happened with the people who hadn't participated. Once again, there was an attack, and when it happened, despite them being strong, capable people, it regressed to arguments and pointless infighting, and this was a problem. Then of course there was the idea of how to compliment one fighting style and another. After thought, the best thing to do seemed to have all the guys come here, show what they could do, and start organizing training that way, get some input, trade different information, relay tactics. It would be unorganized for this meeting alone, but afterward they could start and tailor the training to their strengths, add in situations that played on their weaker points for good measure.

This would be a good way to get other people talking, really start to learn about how they fought and where they came from. The Sensorium would be blank for now: she figured Beastboy should be the one to add a little flair to their surroundings.

She did have to compose herself a little though: she hadn't been happy to hear Tavros was gone. He had been a nice person, and he was Alex's roommate.

The flag obligingly barfed up an unconscious orc girl right onto Hit Girl. Zetta had no problem making her choose between catching her or letting her plummet for the sake of the win.

And popping behind Katara was a big squishy squid, to catch all three of them using it's soft rubbery body as a cushion.

Yay teamwork!

As Hit Girl seized the flag, it went limp in her hand as the eyes and mouth vanished off it. A simple tug to free it from the pole and the Outsiders had claimed it!

Thank GOD.

She grabbed the flag, pulled it, and fell over, exhausted. Stupid obstacles and stupid insanity...

She got up, dusting herself off. "Woo hoo," she said with a definite hint of sarcasm.

Beastboy made gurgling noises before shifting from squid to human form. "Yep...not my best round though." He smiled weakly.

Ronnae stirred, wiggling her nose at the smell before swatting the hand away softly and opening her eyes.

"Wh-what hap-" She rolled back and stood up to look around, a startled look before realizing she wasn't in the creatures maw. She looked down quickly embarrassed, holding herself.

"Hyaaa ha ha ha ha!"

The Overlord banished the entire image with a thought, gathering the group together on an innocuous-looking field. One of the minions wandered up to Katara, offering her shield back, while another started pitching healing spells into the crowd.

"Don't get rough on yourselves. I wasn't exactly making this a cakewalk," Zetta said, grinning. "Of course, you forgot to defend your own flag, so my team captured it about ten seconds after we started, but better luck next time."

He held that smug expression just long enough to see the inevitable reactions of horror and dismay, then burst into laughter. Horrible, horrible troll that he is.

"I'm just yanking your chain, Katara!" he said, still laughing. "There wasn't another flag."

Demons are evil, remember? NOW maybe they'll believe it!

Boy did she hate losing to dumb mistakes like that. It was Warsong Gulch with rookies all over! 'Mother son of a bastard scum sucking motherless ogre!' Yeah she could curse in her mind, specially if it was for losing.

She clenched her fists and looked down, waiting for the rage to subside.

"We had no one on 'D' did we...." She asked more to herself than anything.

"Hey come on now." Beastboy waved at Ronnae, "That's just something we have to work on next time. That's what training os for after all." He grinned charmingly, "One thing at a time."

She blushed at his words, not having realized he had noticed her being very upset. She looked away embarrassed and nodded. "Y-yeah, you're right. Th-that's what training's for right?"

She felt a bit responsible for not thinking things through. She had been in this scenario one too many times and she still couldn't fight it. Oh well, maybe next time...

"That the Overloard gets easily insulted!" Lash giggled as she took off her helmet. WOOHA HELMET HAIR. She shoot it like a dog, and everything was good as new. Unfortunately, old habits died hard and Lash wasn't exactly all rainbows and sunshine.

"Good job on pretending there had been another flag however!" Yeah she hadn't fell for it, no way! Maybe just a little.
