Flights of Meh-ncy [Open]

Pixie darted around the skyline of the city, quite honestly bored with herself. She supposed that she could have gone to the media library, but really wasn't something she was feeling all that moment, and one could only groove to so many Dazzler tunes in the Sensoriums before getting bored of that as well.

Exhausting all of her resources (and convincing herself that it would be improper to sell people her hallucinogenic pixie dust), Pixie had instead decided to play Tinkerbell. Sure, it was immature, but she had wings, and what better thing to do than circle around this castle or that, pretending to be the famous fairy that Walt Disney had made his mascot so many years ago?

A lot, actually, Megan, Pixie thought to herself as she circled around the Gotham Clocktower before coming down in the statuary.

She hadn't actually seen this place before either, now that she came to think of it. Hopefully, none of the statues here would show her things she would rather not know. She'd had enough of that upstairs.

She landed in front of Luke Skywalker and flipped a switch at its base. Nothing. She flipped it again. Still nothing. Pixie then backed away and sprinkled sparkly pixie dust on the statue. Still nothing, but at least it looked pretty?

Pixie sighed.

She needed something...adventurous.

And here was Jayne Cobb spending his day like he spent most of them...drunk.

He had lost his way from the bar and was trying to find it again on route home. But for now he was shuffling along looking frustrated and grumpy while clutching a half empty bottle.

This particular hall was new to Starfire too. She passed between statues of legendary beings of all shapes and sizes, noting the switches at the base. What a strange thing to find, switches that apparently did nothing.

Shrugging, she slipped over a few heads and made her way to another girl exploring the area. Not even the glittery substance she wielded seemed able to produce an effect.

"Is that a spellcasting ritual?" Starfire asked, her bulging green eyes the very picture of almost-creepy curiosity.
starbolts: (Magazine-worthy pose)

Starfire giggled, floating closer to the statue and poking it. "What does it make people see? The future?"

Whatever it was, it certainly was pretty.

Starfire darted around the statue, admiring the look of the dust. "Then it is an illusion," she thought, still happy to learn more about another new crew member.

"Have you found anything of interest here?"
starbolts: (At Sunrise)

"I was hoping to find something familiar," Starfire trailed off wistfully, quickly shifting into smile-mode when the introduction began.

"I am Koriand'r, translated in this tongue as Starfire," she smiled, completing the handshake. "It is always an honor to meet others, though I wonder why we have not seen each other before. What is your role?"

She absorbed new information like a sponge.

"I am simply a combatant," Starfire answered, starting to search the statues. She stroked the faces of one with three heads, eyes wide in wonder. "I belong to an organization of teen heroes known as the Outsiders. We hope to live, train, and fight at each others' sides."

She tilted her head and glanced at Pixie. "Do you have special items other than the dust, Pixie?"

Starfire smiled, admiring the wings and the power. What a nice dagger. "Is it only effective against magic?"

Ever-curious, Starfire floated closer. Maybe she should have been afraid, but desire to know more won out.

"Did it hurt?"
starbolts: (Bitter cold)

Starfire didn't think it was unnecessarily melodramatic at all. "No, I believe that I understand. Events, as painful as they are, are often tests. By adapting to pass them, we build strength, but I am still very sorry that this happened."

She floated over and offered Pixie a hug, arms open and forward.

"Megan?" Sofia couldn't hide the excitement in her voice. "Is that you?"

[identity profile] ayasofia.livejournal.com 2011-03-07 06:43 am (UTC)(link)
Sofia nearly flung herself at Pixie too, pulling her in a tight hug. "Oh, I am so glad to see you! You have no idea!" Her words were quickly strung together in time.

So sorry about the lateness ^_^;;;

Jayne blinked once, twice, rubbed his eyes.

Yep, there's a fairy there.

"S'fine." He slurred and tossed away his bottle straightening up. "Just...lookin' round."

No need to let the hallucination know he was lost.
starbolts: (That is all we can ask for :))

Starfire hugged her tightly (though not bone-crushingly so), a gentle smile on her face. Yes, this girl could be her friend! Maybe, just maybe, if she was lucky.

"We have. So let us discuss happier things! Have you had positive experiences of note?"
