Free ice cream! [open]

 Alex sat beneath the shade of a large tree in a decent sized park. Those familiar with New York might recognize the sky scrapers in the distance, even if they didn't recognize the park itself.  Parked on a small service road was an ice cream truck with a merry vendor, who claimed that it was customer appreciation day, and was thus giving ice cream away for free.

Alex was already enjoying a chocolate and strawberry cone covered in sprinkles and caramel syrup, wondering if anyone would bother showing up to spend time with him, or even be interested in sensorium ice cream in the first place.

Either way, Alice seemed thrilled, as she pulled what appeared to be pink chocolate chips from a jar labelled "Yogis".  Reaching out to pet Alice, Alex laughed a bit, "Don't get used to eating s-so many." sensorium food might not mess with her health, but once they got home, it would be the real thing once again. He figured that she deserved the treat as much as he deserved the ice cream anyway.

Alice stood on her hind legs, trying to reach up to the strange thing hovering over her.

Alex nods to the person that Haro had been attached to. "H-hi there."

"Yo," Lockon greeted casually, raising a hand. Haro flapped his "ears" at Alice with a metallic clack, swaying gently as he studied the rat.

Alice drew back from the unnatural sound, but her curiosity was quickly restored as she saw that it was no threat.

The metalic... pet? piqued Alex's curiosity as well, but it also struck him that this was a rather familiar situation.

With a bit of a laugh, he noted, "I-I think, g-generally, this h-happens t-to people w-walking dogs, o-on my planet at least."

"Ah, well. They're probably smarter than the dogs on Earth, from what I remember."

"P-probably, rats a-are smart. I-I'm afraid I d-don't know what your friend is though."

"Haro? He's a... robot, I guess is the best word." Haro spun around in circles.

Alex laughed, "W-well, he's one of the c-cutest robots I've seen!"

Haro bounced, almost gleefully - for a robot.

Lockon grinned and reached out to tap Haro playfully. "He is, isn't he?"

Alice looked back up at Alex, probably merely because he spoke, but Alex laughed anyway and said, "You're very c-cute too, Alice," patting her on the head.

"And very different from a robot, I would imagine."

"C-completely biological, f-for one." He laughed a bit, scratching her head. "A-and c-covered in fur."

"How long have you had her?"

"A-almost two years n-now." He scooped her up and rolled her on her back, beginning to tickle her stomach. She squirmed in his hand, but didn't show any signs of displeasure. Alex cooed to her, "Isn't that r-right? My lil' o-old lady!"

Lockon laughed at the sight. "She must know you pretty well then."

Alex smiled and let Alice right herself. Once she was on her feet again she turned around and began grooming Alex's fingertips. "B-better than anyone. Sh-she's rarely away f-from me. She's my b-best friend."

"I'm glad she got to come with you." He smiled at Alex, just like a big brother, the same way he smiled at Tieria and Setsuna when he wasn't busy making their lives hell.
