Alex sat beneath the shade of a large tree in a decent sized park. Those familiar with New York might recognize the sky scrapers in the distance, even if they didn't recognize the park itself. Parked on a small service road was an ice cream truck with a merry vendor, who claimed that it was customer appreciation day, and was thus giving ice cream away for free.

Alex was already enjoying a chocolate and strawberry cone covered in sprinkles and caramel syrup, wondering if anyone would bother showing up to spend time with him, or even be interested in sensorium ice cream in the first place.

Either way, Alice seemed thrilled, as she pulled what appeared to be pink chocolate chips from a jar labelled "Yogis". Reaching out to pet Alice, Alex laughed a bit, "Don't get used to eating s-so many." sensorium food might not mess with her health, but once they got home, it would be the real thing once again. He figured that she deserved the treat as much as he deserved the ice cream anyway.

Ronnae was looking forward to hanging with her friend again. She took in the city with curiosity and wanderlust, taking a bit of time to just admire and take note of the architecture.

After a bit she spotted the man giving out the ice cream and she couldn't help but smile wide. Sure it wasn't the ice cream shop in Silvermoon but it might be just as good!

She fidgeted a bit before getting close, forgetting for a moment that it was a sensorium person. Walking up she offered a cheery smile, "Double scoop strawberry with white fudge dipped strawberries, strawberry syrup, mint chips and sprinkles please!" She blushed a bit doing the order herself, it was usually one of her siblings ordering it for her and she just realized how ridiculous she sounded saying it. Though to be fair, their own choices were even more outrageous.

After acquiring her icecream she looked around for Alex. After noticing him she gave a shy wave and approached timidly his way.

Alex waved at Ronnae, "H-hey! How're you? T-that looks good!"

He was glad that other people were taking advantage of the park and the ice cream truck.

She grinned wide, having already learned to feel a bit more comfortable around Alex. "It's my all time favorite from back home!" She took a lick and settled besides him.

"I u-usually g-go for the birthday c-cake flavoured ice c-cream, b-but I decided ta ch-change it up today!"

She smiled, "Birthday cake flavored ice cream sounds great! Maybe if I have space after this I'll try it out." She laughed lightly and took a few more licks of her ice cream, taking one of the strawberries and eating it happily.

"I h-highly r-recommend it! I'll h-have ta t-try what you g-got some time!" He gestured to the empty spot on the bench on the other side of Alice and her container of Yogis.

"S-so, what have you b-been doing?"

"Not much to be honest. With the Engineering department being organized, and between the thing with he Yeerks and this new transmission that occurred recently everyone's been pretty busy. And right now going into engineering seems like it'll just get in the way." She took another thoughtful lick of her ice cream, nibbling on a loose strawberry.

"So I've jus' been working on personal projects back home, or exploring the city and such." Nope, not gonna catch her talking about Billy unless inquired, she respects his secrecy.

"What about you? Have you been alright?" She asked curiously with a hint of concern.

"Y-yeah! I've been a b-bit busy t-trying to trace th-that odd transmission, but nothing s-so far. I n-needed a b-break, so, h-here I am!" He made a toasting motion with his ice cream.

"H-honestly though, I'm s-sure p-people'll be h-happy for an extra h-hand."

She returned the toasting gesture and nodded, taking another nibble of her ice cream. "Hopefully things go back to what counts as normality around this ship. If you need any help, you know you can call on me Alex." She smiled shyly.

Alex nodded, "a-also, if you'd be interested, I c-could teach y-you some basic programming. I w-wish I c-could offer ta teach y-you something more useful o-on a basic level, b-but I'm sure if y-you ask around s-someone w-would be willing ta teach you s-something."

Her eyes widened excitedly and she nodded quickly. "Y-yes! I'd love that! I read a little about it since I wanted to know about each section of Engineering on the ship. And I've never heard of your field before! I mean, we 'program' our devices with runescript and different other things using magi-tech. So your means of programming really really interest me! I want to know more and more about all the fields of engineering! I'd love love love if you taught me, p-please?!" Yep, you hit her good. Technology? Totally passionate about!

"I-I'd love ta h-hear about h-how that r-really works! I m-mean, I've r-read a bit, b-but it's n-not like detail was e-ever gone into, and i-it still m-might not be the same. I w-would gladly t-teach you!"

A thought crossed his mind for a moment, holding an online course for programming. He wondered how many people would actually be interested in learning basics. He also wondered how good he would be at teaching them.

"Thanks! Just let me know when the best time would be and I'll be there!"

She smiled happily, taking more licks and bites out of her ice cream.

Alex scratched his head and thought, "R-really, I'm u-usually down there, s-so any time's g-good. I d-don't have much else ta do, b-besides g-go out with Luna, o-or spend some time w-with friends."

"Good then, we can spend time together and have fun in between lessons." She added cheerily, the ice cream and great company really relaxing her.

Alex nodded, "S-sounds like fun!"

She grinned playfully and gave him a thumbs up, enjoying the last bits of her ice cream. She had heard of Luna before but she hadn't seen her. Wanting to avoid bringing up sad memories, she'd just wait for another time to ask.
