Late at night in the media library, two of Stacy's crew members were busy watching an unusual tv show on one of her many screens. Standing on the floor with his main eyes focused on the screen was Ax, while off to the side Marco was curled up on one of the couches.

For all intents and purposes, they appeared to be watching a soap opera about robots.

<What? Not his-- My goodness, I certainly didn't expect that! How could she?>

"Dude, what show have you been watching? They've been foreshadowing that for like the last ten episodes. More important question: how the hell does robot sex even work, and would we need to bleach our brains after finding that out?"

<We will have to see the next episode to determine how that occurred, undoubtedly. I don't think that androids reproduce the same way most species do.>

"Ax-man, this is like prime time television. No way is there going to be a robot sex scene in the middle of it."

<I highly doubt that they would show the reproductive act itself, but they will perhaps explain how it would be possible for Brook Jr to not be Brook's child!>

"...You have got way too much trust in Kelly's ability to be faithful."

"They look like they've got some dead wee beastie on their heads," Jamie says, with a snort of his own. He's seen more ridiculous looking things in his day, but this is still pretty far up the list as that sort of stuff goes.

"So is there a point to this, or are ye really that bored?"

< No more bored than usual, > Ax said with a shrug of his shoulders. He'd been adopting human body-language for so long now that he barely noticed it anymore. < But Marco doesn't like any of the shows I usually watch. >

"Do robots having love triangles need a point?" Marco asked. "And Ax, we've been through this. That 'I Can't Believe It's Not Butter' ad with Fabio isn't a show. It's an ad."

"Oh, I see." Jamie has no clue who this Fabio person is, but thinks pretending to understand may make things clearer. He turns his attention to the show for a bit, but then finds himself pointing at the screen.

"Ah, so she's the one who was poxed to start with. Aye, well, if ye ask me, he should have been more firm with her about who was in charge of the relationship. She'd not have strayed, then."

< But he speaks his lines with such passion and intensity, > Ax objected. < It is only right to enjoy something that the actors are putting that much work into. >

He inclined his head to the side and considered Jamie's words. < I don't think either of them are particularly in charge of the relationship, > he said. < That is the basis of most of their problems, neither of them want to take responsibility for the things that happen to them. >

"Ax, no one hires Fabio because of his acting skills. They hire him because he's an underwear model who's been on lots of romance novel covers. You know, chick stuff," Marco said.

"The other source of their problems is Brook Jr getting kidnapped. You'd think that after the fifth time it'd happened they'd come up with a decent plan for the next time, but no. They still have to argue over what they'll do about it."

"Aye, I would say so," Jamie replies, with a bit of a disbelieving look on his face. Part of that is off of the concept of someone being an underwear model, because he really can only think of one thing that could be. And why would someone want to do that?

"Although it's a wee bit odd that he keeps getting taken that much. Should they not also be trying to figure out who's behind all these kidnappings?"

< It's never the same person twice, > Ax said. < The first time, it was a case of mistaken identity -- the kidnappers thought that Brook Jr was the child of an ambassador. The second time, it was Brook's brother; the third, they only thought he was kidnapped, he actually fell down a hole. >

"The kid's basically just a kidnapper magnet," Marco agreed. "And I still say that the hole incident was all part of Steve's plotting."

This Androids show is more complicated than Jamie thought, and he rubs at his forehead for a moment while trying to process it.

"Who's Steve? And what does the hole have to do with it?"

< Steve is Brook Senior's brother's underling, > Ax explained. < Steve owns a construction company, there were hints that he may have deliberately laid a trap for Brook Junior to get revenge, but they weren't able to find proof either way in that particular incident. >

"Which basically means he definitely did it," Marco said.

Ah. That part makes sense. "He was just very good at hiding his tracks, then."

What doesn't make sense is what's happening on the screen right now, and he stares in puzzlement at it. "Hey, wait. Wasn't there someone in the last episode with the same name? Why do they look taller now?"

He almost would think they were older, too, from the deeper voice. But it's hard to tell with an android.
