Late at night in the media library, two of Stacy's crew members were busy watching an unusual tv show on one of her many screens. Standing on the floor with his main eyes focused on the screen was Ax, while off to the side Marco was curled up on one of the couches.

For all intents and purposes, they appeared to be watching a soap opera about robots.

<What? Not his-- My goodness, I certainly didn't expect that! How could she?>

"Dude, what show have you been watching? They've been foreshadowing that for like the last ten episodes. More important question: how the hell does robot sex even work, and would we need to bleach our brains after finding that out?"

<We will have to see the next episode to determine how that occurred, undoubtedly. I don't think that androids reproduce the same way most species do.>

"Ax-man, this is like prime time television. No way is there going to be a robot sex scene in the middle of it."

<I highly doubt that they would show the reproductive act itself, but they will perhaps explain how it would be possible for Brook Jr to not be Brook's child!>

"...You have got way too much trust in Kelly's ability to be faithful."

Aftran didn't really know how to feel after that big revelation from Iniss. It had been a whole day since then, and she was still feeling slightly numb. Thus, she didn't even realize who she was walking in on until she heard the voice and thought-speak.

She paused in the doorway. What a coincidence this was. Maybe they wouldn't notice her and she could walk away...

While in full view of the Andalite in the room? Not likely. Ax spotted the human girl in the doorway with a stalk eye and stiffened.

< Marco, > he said in private thought-speak. < Aftran has returned. She's standing in the door. > While the Animorphs had been trying to keep their identities secret from Aftran, they had been awake on Stacy long enough to explain their friendship with him if necessary. It just might mean that Marco wouldn't be able to talk to Karen as much in the future.

Marco froze for a moment, then turned his head around. Aftran was back?! He blinked, and madly tried to think of a plan. They'd never been able to find out exactly when Aftran was from, and since she'd caught them off guard Marco didn't even have any time to figure out what approach to take. Was Aftran their ally, or still their enemy?

"Hey," he said, watching carefully. He'd wait to see how she reacted before figuring how their approach.

"...hello." She froze. This was bad. Now they knew she was here. How wonderful.

They had to know who she was; the way Marco was talking was proof enough of that. This was bad, bad, bad.

"...what are you watching?" she asked finally.

Ax twisted his upper body to look at her with his main eyes, making a show of general disinterest. They didn't need her to know that he recognized her as anyone specific.

If Aftran wasn't there watching, Marco would have rolled his eyes at Ax passing everything onto him.

But they were at a stalemate - he and Ax weren't likely to be Aftran's favourite Animorphs, and so neither of them would be willing to admit wht they know. He needed to provoke a reaction. "Next episode, Simone gets attacked by a robo-leopard," he said, not taking his eyes off of Aftran. If she'd met Cassie yet, she'd recognise the reference.

Aftran flinched. Of course he was trying to provoke her, he was Marco. And typical Ax, leaving the conversation up to his human allies.

"That sounds scary," she commented, slipping back into her little-girl voice. If it were Jake or Cassie, she'd have been more open. But she knew what Marco thought of her.

Well, that was interesting. Well done, Marco. Ax turned back toward the screen, but kept a stalk eye on Aftran.

There's a quiet snort as Jaime pokes his head into the room to see what all the (mental) fuss is about. He's not able to hold back an amused half-way there chortle.

"Are you guys--Are you guys seriously watching a robot soap opera?"

Marco hid his satisfaction - oh, she definitely knew them - but they didn't know enough yet. If she knew the leopard, then she at least knew who they were. But that didn't mean that she was on their side yet.

"Want to watch?" he offered, hoping to get her away from the door. If she bolted, this could get a whole lot trickier. "We can always skip to the totally not scary caterpillar episode."

She narrowed her eyes. Maybe he could be trusted, but she really didn't like him. "Is that one before or after the one with the big, angry monkey?"

Hikari walked into the Media Library... and stared at what she was seeing. "You're... the two of you are watching a..."

She couldn't even finish that sentence.

Tailmon walked in besides her, frowning. "Isn't that something that'd only really show up on a comedy show?"

"...so, is this what kids watch these days? Holos about droids?"

Have an Atton standing in the doorway and slowly shaking his head.

"Man, standards have fallen."

Out of all the things Jamie is expecting to see when he sticks his head into the room, it's certainly not anything even remotely close to the...whatever it was on the screen. He blinks at it, then stares while his brain tries to parse what's going on. This doesn't seem to be working very well, unfortunately. So questions it is.

"What is that?"

Oh yes, she definitely knew. Ax relaxed, but only a hair or two. It was entirely possible that she was from an alternate universe where sparing her would have been a mistake, after all. He eyed her, trying to figure out what the Yeerk inside the little girl's head was really thinking.

Ax's tail twitched a little at the sight of the strange boy with the stranger parasite. Hadn't he been returned to the Pod Caverns? And why was he acting so relaxed?

Ax spied the duo with his stalk eyes, and twisted his upper body around to get a good look at the strange creature accompanying the human girl.

< No, this isn't a comedy show, > he answered after a moment. < It doesn't have a laugh track, and it doesn't tend to be particularly funny. >

< I've already seen all of the episodes of The Young and the Restless that Stacy has let me access, > Ax answered, twisting his upper body around to look at the human in the doorway. < And Marco isn't a fan of These Messages. >

< What is what? > Ax recognized Jamie from around the ship, so didn't feel particularly compelled at this moment to twist around to look at him with his main eyes. He did keep a stalk eye fixed on him though, to indicate that he was paying attention.

"So you do remember us," Marco said, dispensing with the pretense. "And from the way you reacted to the word 'caterpillar', I'd say you've already been in and out of Cassie's head."

Marco shot a quick look at Ax, before turning to stare at Jaime. (What the hell was it with repodded people turning up out of nowhere again today?) Marco had never talked to the guy himself, only watched him while in morph, so he didn't expect him to react to Marco's presence. But the guy had definitely known Ax, and they weren't exactly buddies.

What the hell was this guy up to?

"Hey, once you go robot, man..." Marco said with a shrug, making sure to stay casual. No need to let Jaime know that Marco knew him - this time, the ball was in Ax's court.

Marco recognised these two - but since he'd ran into them while in dog morph, he didn't let on that he knew who they were.

"Ax, that's just because you have no sense of humour," he said. "It's about a village full of robots having affairs with it other. Of course it's funny."

"No one is a fan of 'These Messages', Ax," Marco said, rolling his eyes. "They're ads, you're not meant to like them."

Hikari just shook her head, smiling a bit.

Tailmon just sighed. "You're going to make me watch it with them, aren't you?"

Hikari blinked, looking down at Tailmon. "I don't need to make you do anything though. Might as well watch it though."

Tailmon sighed again.

"It's Androids, man," Marco said, which probably didn't explain anything at all. "Now shh: next episode Brook's going to find out that Kelly also gave him an Electronically Transmitted Disease, and I want to see what happens."
