Well. That was certainly a waste. At least for Irma.

The mission was a success - they were able to get a hold of a special artifact that was supposed to help them get to point B (whatever that might be), but to Irma, that wasn't the bad thing. The bad thing was that most of the group didn't get to be there. Stupid rituals.

Relaxing on a bench within the ship's bench, Irma thought back to those rituals and the fact that, to get in, they had to get married. Then, thought back to the fact that her and Hay Lin were anxious to drag Will onto the mission. What would have happened if they got through? Would they have to be married for the sake of that?

Irma's cheeks burned red as her mind wandered back to that. Her and Hay Lin? Not a problem. Her, Hay Lin and Will? It made her feel just a tad funny. Probably that same funny feeling that she had about Hay Lin.

"...no. No, no, no. I wouldn't be thinking like that. Would I?" she said to herself. She shook her head and tried to shove that thought back, only for another to surface about someone else. And another.

"...maybe I am." she said.

"I'm dateless, single and a red blooded American Teenager, what?" defended Ben but he was grinning at least.

"That got you out of your funk real quick. Have you been asking Gwen for punching lessons cause ow."

"No, that's what you learn when you have an annoying brother. And you deal with monsters on a regular basis." Irma admitted. She couldn't help but smirk. At least it came in handy.

"Hey I deal with aliens, so we're about even," replied Ben flippantly. "But still, you've got a lot going for you. I can't even hold down one girlfriend let alone two."

"Well, we need to see what happens." Irma said, chuckling. "If things end up that way, I will be utterly surprised!"

And there Irma goes again, slugging him in the arm once more.

"God! You sure that's you and not some perverted alien form?" Irma said. She knew it was Ben, but the idea of a race of pervertish aliens? It's possible.

"Ow! Last I checked, space aliens don't exactly abduct the womenfolk." said Ben, rubbing his arm.

"Although I suppose it's a big note that most races are compatible with human baseline. Grandma's an alien."

"Aliens are compatible to humans? Your grandma is..." Irma stammered. Yeah, it's kind of a big shock for her.

"Surprised me too, but my dad and his brother are aliens and Gwen inherited the powers," said Ben with a lazy sluck of his drink. "She's an Anodyte which is pretty much a being made of pure mana. Ridiculous powerful. The phrase "She can do Anything" comes to mind, and Gwen'll be able to get to that level someday too."
