Marco couldn't quite remember how he got back home.

Did he morph? He must have morphed. Or maybe he walked, so that Samson couldn't have looked out the window and gotten a glimpse. But what would have been the point in hiding? He knew. He knew. Sure, not about the morphing. Not yet. But it was only a matter of time. Already he knew way to much, and Marco didn't have a clue how to stop him from finding out anymore. Not without setting the entire Council on his tail. On all their tails.

Marco ran straight up to the attic without even stopping to talk to anyone, and tried to think of how the hell he was going to explain this to Jake.

[[ooc: bendytimed to just after Marco's psych eval. Also guys, timelinewise I'm going to assume that all the threads with anyone except for Jake happen after Jake's talked to the others / they've had a meeting / whatever, and thus know about the eval and whatnot. Also Marco's pretty much going to be holed up in the attic all day]]

"Right, so you're going to walk in and tell him you're a psycho bitch then?" Marco hissed back at her. "What are you going to say turned you into such a violence junkie, huh? Maybe Daddy going away just make you so angry that you turned into a homicidal maniac?"

"Maybe," she snapped back at him, taking a few threatening steps closer to where he sat. "Maybe I'll tell him it's from being friends with such a pain in the ass for so long. I'm sure he'll believe that, after meeting you."

"Anything to get out of explaining that the real reason is that you just like it, right?" Marco sneered.

Rachel all but growled at Marco, taking a few more steps forward as she lifted a fist in the air. "Maybe I do when it's you," she spat, and she took a swing towards his face.

Rachel's fist rammed into the side of Marco's face, pushing him backwards over the bed until his head cracked on the side of the wall.

For a moment Marco was stunned, until he grabbed his head with his hand and started screaming away from Rachel. "You're insane!" he yelled. "Fuck off!"

Rachel was seething somewhat at him, glaring intensely. The fucking nerve... "Why don't you fuck off?" she seethed, "You're just a glutton for punishment, aren't you?"

"Hello, this is my room?" Marco hissed, glaring. "I think it's time you get the hell out, don't you?"

Rachel loomed over him, her entire body in a position to lunge. "Why don't you shut the hell up," she shouted, "Or make me get out."

Marco glared up at her. "I told you to get out," he repeated.

"Fuck you," Rachel snapped, bringing forward her fist again, letting it impact his chin.

Marco wasn't as caught off-guard this time, so he tried to bring up an arm to block her. He wasn't fast enough, though, so his head snapped back when Rachel's fist connected. Instead he ended up trying to keep his balance and push Rachel away from him.

Rachel only lost her balance somewhat, with Marco suddenly pushing her away. She'd been too wrapped up in her own rage to think about Marco fighting back. Instead of a punch, though, she swung a kick at him, above the bed.

By this point, Marco had ended up near the side and of the bed: so when Rachel kicked him it struck the side of his chest, pushing him off the bed and sending him crashing down to the floor with a resounding thud.

Downstairs, Ax looked up at the ceiling. That was an unusual noise. What was Marco doing up there, rearranging his furniture?

< Are you all right, Marco? >

"You going to answer?" Rachel asked, her tone demanding, challenging. Was he going to ask for help?

Marco wanted to answer. Oh, he definitely wanted to. Marco wasn't under any illusions about his ability to take Rachel on in a fight - he scrambled to his feet, and took a few steps back from her, but he knew that he wasn't going to be able to win this. His best option would be to morph something that could help him escape, but he'd be vulnerable mid-morph.

But even now, when he'd manage to acquire a collection of bruises from Rachel, he didn't want to look like a coward in front of her. So he just said nothing, and hoped that Ax would come up anyway.

< Marco? > Ax asked again, moving toward the stairs. He thought for a moment. < If whoever is up there is not Marco, I must inform you that you are in fact invading someone's living space and I request that you remove yourself from it post-haste. >

It seemed a more likely possibility than that Marco had somehow managed to injure himself in such a way to prevent his mouth from working.

"Good," Rachel said, mockingly, to Marco. She was pissed, and she didn't want Ax getting the idea that maybe she was beating on Marco for no reason. Didn't want Marco to play up being a 'victim' here.

But with Ax assuming that someone was 'invading' Marco's 'living space' and wanting her out... Maybe he'd back her up, if he knew what was going on. And it wasn't like she was going to hurt Marco too badly-- she was mostly just going to take out her anger on him. Hopefully make him remember he screwed up.

"It's cool Ax," she yelled down instead. "We're just talking about how Marco messed something up."

"Sure, we're talking," Marco sneered angrily. "How could I forget? Xena always talks, as opposed to, you know, rushing in and trying to smash everything that pisses her off."

Ax paused at the bottom of the stairs. Surely Rachel and Marco weren't having a physical fight up there over the psychological evaluation, were they?

Were they?

< What was that thumping noise? > he replied instead of voicing his worries.

"Shut the fuck up," Rachel hissed at Marco, moving towards him and aiming a kick for just his shin this time.

"Marco's just being an idiot," she shouted, eyes never moving from their glare, fixed on Marco. Ax would agree, right? "Want to come help smack some sense into him?" she called, half mockingly.

This time though, Marco was on his feet. He quickly stepped back from Rachel's kick, dodging out of the way.

"Deluding yourself into thinking that everyone else is as insane as you are now?" Marco snapped.

Ax stared incredulously up at the ceiling.

< Please tell me that I don't have to come up there and separate the two of you, > he said finally. Surely they weren't actually fighting up there?!

Rachel was seething. For Marco to have the nerve to keep thinking that he was in the right. And for Ax to imply they needed to be separated. Like they were kids of something. Didn't he see that Marco screwed up?

"Go to hell," she shouted at Marco, but it was aimed at Ax, too. "You think I'm insane for being pissed off?"

"I said I was sorry, alright?" Marco yelled, his voice hoarse. "I know I screwed up, you didn't need to come up here to tell me that."
