Simple Things
OK, so things were at least shaping up pretty good. The Outsiders were making progress and so far, she had to admit that she was generally happy. Sure, there were a few lingering things on her mind (her brother, Mai, Marco) but overall she figured letting them deal with things without her involved. Nura and her and Reimi got to bond, she had help on the ship, and there were people looking out for her on the ship: she had nothing to complain about.
So she took this moment to unwind near the Outsider's pool, not IN the pool but beside it, legs crossed, taking in the air and doing breathing exercises for relaxation.

She smiled. "Honor can mean different things to different people, but I think this kind of honor transcends cultures. With me, honor meant fighting to the best of your ability, but not destroying the important things, like family and the things people made that mean something. It may have made us targets later during the war, but its an ideal I hope to keep."
She smiled at Ronnae. "I'm really happy you joined the Outsiders."

A joke, of course, but there was definitely some happiness behind it. He forced his hair back and smiled, almost forgetting that Katara was there.
"You're a lot like me. You already have all the skills, unlike me, but you wouldn't hesitate to learn new ones."

There was no hiding the spreading grin on her face.

Billy looked down at her, somewhat puzzled. "I...suppose that's what I brought to my team. Knowledge, not fighting prowess---that came later, as Katara knows and you'll find out soon."
Wait, where was Katara anyway? He blinked, then noticed how closely they were standing together. When did that happen? Smiling faintly, he fumbled for her hand under the water. "And I see a fantastic person in you," he whispered, the memories of what she'd told him about her life still fresh in his mind.

"You don't have to feel bad again," Billy declared, drawing her close. It was a little awkward in their current state, but he didn't mind if it meant helping her.
He rested his chin on her hair, hugging her with his free arm. "I'm---we're with you, Ronnie."

Honestly, its like he wants to purposely ruin a good moment! I could kill him!
But that would have to wait: Katara was out with shaved ice drinks: one was a green drink, a blue, and the last was red. "Here you guys go!"
She gave Ronnae the blue, Billy the green and herself the red.

She moved back embarrassed and tried her best to smile up at Katara. "Th-thanks!" She grabbed the treat and looked at it fondly. Colors! She took a bit and smiled fondly. "This tastes pleasant!"

They weren't laced with aphrodisiacs, were they? Billy was reasonably sure they weren't, but in a charged situation like this he was slightly paranoid.
"It's been a while since I've enjoyed myself this much," he found himself admitting with a glance in Ronnie's direction.

She lounged a little here, happily unaware of what Billy was thinking: that would have definitely earned him a throttle.
"Oh, me too," Katara said, giving Ronnae a wink.

"It's almost too pleasant, given my track record" Billy chimed in with a tiny smile. "I'm beginning to think that nothing can happen to me without something going incredibly wrong."
Please don't let that be ruined

"Well, given what usually happens at any given time," Katara said to Ronnae, "I can;t really blame Billy. Sometimes...... (http://community.livejournal.com/trans_pilgrims/511392.html?thread=5983904)weird things happen."
Oops. Ronnae just got hit with a fatigue spell.

Speaking of weird things...was something happening to Ronnie? Billy looked at her, wondering.

It took a few seconds that seemed to last forever, but he managed to catch her bridal style and haul her head above the water. As quickly as he could safely manage it, he clutched her to his chest and carried her up the stairs. Please be all right, Billy willed the girl in his arms.
"Katara, can you lay out a towel?" Setting Ronnie on the cold deck wouldn't be very nice.

"Just let him carry you Ronnae," Katara said, forcing herself to keep a straight face. "You're definitely not able to move right now. We'll take care of you."
She looked over at Billy. "You all right?"

Once the chair was covered, he slowly lowered Ronnae to rest for a moment while he asked about what to do next. Seeing her like this worried him, but it was oddly compelling as well. Billy found that he couldn't resist kneeling next to the chair and brushing the hair from her face.
"Ronnie, are you with us?"

And right now, she definitely felt less like killing Billy. Now he was being a perfect gentleman.
"You got faint," Katara said, taking the drink and bringing it to Ronnae's lips. "Here, the drink is cold, it'll help."
