Date Night [Closed]
Dean blew some air out through his teeth, and was pacing a little outside the Sensoriums. He fidgeted with his hands, and kept glancing down the hallways nearby. He got his tapes back, but everybody's been harping on him lately. They just didn't get it. This was his freaking job, hell, he's a member of Security, and now with Mei Xing repodded, the situation with Strike Team fell squarely into his lap. Which meant some new testing and try outs soon that he'd have to supervise. And Samus repodded which means shake ups in Security too. People just needed to back off because guess what, he's responsible. Which means he should have been more on guard about that damn Darksoul. He knew Daimon, who seemed to have things under control, but he should have remembered the lesson with Ruby. Never trust anything demon related.
Damn he really did need a break. He paced some more and hope Kaylee would show up soon.

"Well if that doesn't just figure? That's about how my old man found the Impala after all, and it sure was a lucky find."

Actually, bad train of thought for a date. The last thing she really wanted to bring up was Bester. She shrugged. "Probly part of the reason I got hired of so quick."

Dean then shook his head, "Nah, just the usual if I ever hurt you, he'd break something."

Kaylee pointed Dean toward one of the closer repair areas, describing some of the more curious looking parts as they went.

He had also made some mental notes about the weaponry he saw in the marketplace. Less laser guns, more artillery he was familiar with.
"Doesn't seem like a lot changed in the future for some of it. I mean you got your space ships, but it's not all chrome and steel and lasers." Actually it felt pretty damn comfortable.

"This is most normal for folk, yeah. The Central planets are more advanced, same with Alliance. You get there and it's all straight lines and white walls."

"Alliance wouldn't know a decent ship if it crashed into their faces. Just 'cause it looks shiny don't mean it is, y'know?"

Bunch of chicken shits.

...alright, that's not so much exactly Alliance, but she was trying really hard to find something decent about them. Everybody had something nice about them somewhere.

He walked around more, "What about these outer worlds? What else is there?"
no subject
Outer worlds. Kaylee pointed Dean to another nearby touchscreen, and took a minute to pull up a map of the system. "Depends on which one you go to. Some're minin' planets, farmin', others lean toward...makin' mud." She tried not to laugh at that one. "Further out you go, though, less Alliance you got, which can be both good and bad, seein' as they got control over most med and food deliveries..."
no subject
"Well on the farming worlds, you'd be making your food mostly."

It was a hell of a planet to visit, though. Stunk worse than being stuck on a ship with a herd of cattle for three weeks.
"Yeah, but the Alliance keeps a close eye on the production. Do on everythin'."
no subject
Dean then frowned at that, "Yeah, well this Alliance can blow it out their ass. Next you're gonna tell me they chip everybody to keep tabs on them like a freaking digital leash."
no subject
"No chips," Kaylee promised, "but I don't know if I'd put it past 'em to start tryin'." It was bad enough they did experiments on little girls like River. Gorram bunch of purple-bellied húndàn.
