A Bit Of Freedom [Open]

For all intents and purposes, things had been pretty good for Sasami. A nice little gift from Negi, making some new friends during the latest release, helping a few people trying to get settled in. It was a massive step forward for her compared to earlier where she was doubting herself, complaining about how unfair everyone was and pretty much (as she will admit) being a pain to others.

For now, though, Sasami was more than content on having a little bit of downtime. She would have headed down to Awesome World, but for this, she opted for something much more.

Heading for the sensoriums, Sasami stepped inside... and started to float. She would admit something - her favorite attraction in Awesome World was the ball pit, mostly for the feel of flying. And right now, that's all she wanted to do. Amongst the weightlessness of it all, Sasami closed her eyes and relaxed, her hair fanning out even in their pigtails as she moved.

It was a pretty peaceful feeling to say the least. Hopefully someone would want to join her - it's kinda fun!

Ben grinned at the sight as he stepped into the sensoriums and his feet lifted off the ground. "Well this is new," he remarked, pushing off gently with long experience in zero g. "Hey Sasami, been a while."

Sasami blinked as she saw Ben enter the room, quickly smiling as she did. "Oh, hi Ben! Long time, no see!"

"Yeah it's been a while," laughed Ben as he floated up towards where Sasami was relaxing. He put his arms behind his head and seemed to stretch out. "How have you been holding up?"

"Actually, I've been doing pretty well..." Sasami said as she took a more relaxed position as well. "I'd been doing some thinking lately over what I had been doing, but I still have doubts whether I'm still doing the right thing or not."

"That's good to hear. Sounds like you've got a better idea of what you wanted to do," said Ben, floating up around her easily. "And it takes time and effort to find out if you're doing the right thing. Not every start's easy."

"...What kind of room is this?!"

Dawn stared in awe at the sensoriums as she stepped inside, only barely realizing that her new friend was there before letting out a scream of surprise as she started floating in the air!

"Pipluuuup!"

"Piplup, no! Sasami...what's going on?!!" Dawn had accidentally let the Penguin-type go and no sooner had she done so than he'd started floating as well.

Oop! She never realized that there would be some who never experienced weightlessness like this.

"Dawn...! S-Sorry! This is one of the Sensoriums. I had it set to experience zero gravity. Floating, pretty much!"

"...Oh! Really?" Now that Dawn was somewhat relaxed, as was Piplup, she had to admit...it was kinda fun!

"Uh-huh...! It can pretty much do anything we want it to!" Sasami said. "Right now, I like this sort of simpleness...!"

"Wow...this is amazing!" Dawn did her best to float up to where Sasami was at, Piplup doing likewise.

"Lup!"

"Do you do this all the time, Sasami?"

"Sometimes...!" Sasami said, her hands reaching out to catch Dawn as she floated upward. "There's an amusement park here that has this sort of thing, and I've come to enjoy it!"

Dawn smiled as her hands clasped Sasami's, still floating upward with her but their eyes making contact almost immediately. "An amusement park? It sounds spectacular!"

"Oh, it is!" Sasami said. "I've been there a few times - it's a great place to go to to relax!"

"Wow...think we can go there sometime?" Dawn asked, a hopeful tone in the girl's voice.

He hasn't figured out what these Sensorium things do, nor has he figured out how to really work the comm system, so he's looking for Sasami the old-fashioned way, in hope she can tell him what to do on this ship to keep his head down but look useful. Going room to room, he's been asking for her.

"Hey, I was told to look for Sasa-holy s#%&!" Howard is interrupted by the sounds of his own panic as he starts to float.

Sasami blinked as she heard Howard's panicked cry. She did catch the first little bit of her name being called out, so at the very least, she knew she was needed.

"O-Oh, my! I'm so sorry! Here, let me fix this!" Sasami said, the Sensoriums restoring the normal gravity gently. "I'm sorry, I guess I didn't expect people to get caught off guard so easily. That's my fault..."

"You didn't expect people to get caught off guard by suddenly floating?" Then again, he guesses they are in space. Actual gravity should be more confusing. He shakes himself off, still wide-eyed and freaked out. "Do you know where Sasami is?"

"Again, I'm sorry..." Sasami said, chuckling. She really did mean it, she just can't help but laugh a bit at his predicament. Calming down, though, she went back at the task at hand. "As for where Sasami is, you're looking at her!"

"Okay. Whew. Good. I've been looking for you for hours." That's a total lie. He's been looking about fifteen minutes. "I was told that you're the person in charge of figuring out what to do with teenagers on this creepy spaceship. I'm not useful at all but I'm worried if I don't get assigned to do something I'm going to end up infantry."

"Oh, I'm sorry! I should start at least letting others know where I am...!" Sasami said, buying into the lie. Admittedly, it would do her some good for someone to know where she was.

"Woah, woah, woah, it's okay - you don't have to worry about doing something THAT drastic. Usually, that's Stacy herself that usually does something like that. But, there are some things you can do... I'm curious at exactly what you can do."

Well, that a relief. Unless the creepy spaceship has other ideas for him. "Um, not much, really. I don't have any powers and I'm not super good with computers or anything like that. But I learn fast. I just don't want to be involved in anything where I'm likely to get blown up or turned into target practice."

He looks around the Sensoriums. "Do you do a lot of spacey floaty stuff in here?"

"Well, that really won't be a problem! I'm sure that some of those in the other departments would be willing to help you learn if you really wanted to! If not, you're free to do anything you want to. I would have suggested participating the training sessions, but the one who runs it, Kang, has put it on hold for awhile..."

Hearing his second question, Sasami shook her head. "Nuh-uh. I just started that sort of thing recently. It's because of an attraction in the City's amusement park and I've started to take a liking to it. In here, you can do just about anything, really!"

"If I do training lessons, will I be expected to fight? Because I don't really...do that." He usually relies on others. At most he works behind the scenes. "I heard the Med Bay needs people? There usually aren't contagious alien plagues or anything there though?"

Well, that's interesting. "Spacey Stacy isn't imaginative enough?"

Sasami shook her head. "The training lessons are mainly to make sure that, if you get caught in something, you have a fighting chance to get away. As for Med Bay, yes, they do need people. As for the plagues and such, it shouldn't be a problem. Then again, the ones who saved us tend to not tell us what's in here." Like the Zombie Viruses and the Nightmare King (both before her time) and the Rage Virus...

"Well, the Sensoriums pretty much create whatever you want or need. The only bad thing is that what goes on here tends to stay in here. Trust me, I tried with food."

"How often do you get caught up in somethings if you don't leave the ship?" Back to being unsettled. Her comment that no one really knows what goes on in the Med Bay isn't all that encouraging either. "Seriously, the food here can't be worse than what we had at home. If it dead, everyone here would have starved to death already."

"Oh, we leave the ship. However, it's usually on missions." Sasami said. "And we don't get to chose those, either. Stacy does. And if she picks you, you... really don't have a choice."

There was a worrying look on her face. She didn't like the fact that all of this was pretty much true.

"As for the food, well... we got regular food, but it's so few and far between, we're stuck eating the ship's slop."

"Great. That's really comforting. I'll probably head to the Med Bay, then. Thanks for the help." He takes a tentative step out of the Sensoriums, wondering if gravity's going to readjust itself, and then leaves.

Dustin of course was naturally excited at the room. "Dude, this place is awesome!" He chuckled as he floated in the room. "Name's Dustin."

Sasami blinked as she heard Dustin's voice. Of course, by this time, Sasami was floating upside down, looking at him.

"Oh, hi! I'm Sasami!" she called back. "Is something wrong?"

Dustin just smiled. "Nah, just checking out the sensoriums. I don't normally use them, so I thought I'd check it out."
