On the 9th day of Christmas ... [For Nanoha cast, but open, really]

Hayate, Vivio and Zwei had a, shall we say, lackluster Christmas with all their friends and family gone. And today, after New Year's Day was over with, Hayate had one thing set in mind as she called all her friends and family to get together:

You owed her (and Vivio especially) one Christmas.

So here she was on the WITCH Bus with some past due Christmas cakes a little fake tree that was as of yet undecorated but next to a box of ornaments.

Party. Now. Your (former) boss demands it. She also demands you were the santa girl outfits. No, seriously, she's handing them to you as you enter the door. "Zwei and I were hoping you get here sooner, but whatever, we had these prepared for ya."

There's a curtain to change behind. Hayate is pointing to it.

((Yes, there's one for you too Signum. Hayate and Zwei may have pulled an all nighter. Arf, you're a reindeer. The children have elf costumes.))

Rein supposed Hayate couldn't particularly be blamed in this case, since they were pretty close to her face like this, but the comment was very... well, sadly, she'd begun to think of such things as 'Hayate-like.'

"All I could ask of you you have already given me." The things Rein still wanted for were distant, ephemeral, the still-unresolved questions of her past and fate, or the Hayate - and others - she remembered, the same and yet not. 'Another year together', she might have said, but she did not want to ask for something she knew Hayate would give her if she could, but might not be able to.

"And what about you? Father Christmas deserves a reward for all her hard work spreading cheer, doesn't she?"

"Awwh, come on, don't ya want any special treats or favors?" She scruffs that fake beard against Eins' shoulder.

"Me? Ohhh. Well well I jus' love the holidays, ho ho~ It's its own reward. But 'm sure Ms. Clause will give me somethin' special."

Hayate vaguely wanted a misses Clause for herself sometimes.

"It is best when all of our family is together, but if I had to ask for something for only myself it would also be your time." Rein says.

"If we would have a meal or activity for only us on some occasions, I think that would be enjoyable too."

So greatly did she value the bonds between Hayate and the Knights that it was a hard thing for her to articulate, but... she supposed there were individual bonds as well as those held in common, different but no less worthy of nurture. She did not want to take too much of Hayate's time by asking such a thing, but... now that she'd said it, it seemed clearer that she could honestly say it was something she wanted.

She dropped the funny, deep voiced Santa act to speak in her familiar tones. "I'll be happy t' grant that wish. <3 Thooooough, when ya say 'occasions,' d'ya mean no occasion in particular, just to make our own? Or d'ya mean on special occasions?"

"'cause the next special occasion I can think of is," She glanced up in, what was perhaps mock, thought. "Mmmm..."

"Valentines Day?" This realization was followed with giggling.

"I didn't intend any in particular, but if you would like to use holidays..." And looking at their current costumes, it seemed clear that Hayate did like holidays quite a lot. It would be something to share with her... "We could do that."

She canted her head slightly at the giggling. "Would you like to do something together then?"

"Ohhh. Rein, how bold...!" She teased, coiling a lock of silver hair around her finger.

"Is it...?" Rein looked nonplussed. Oh, because it was a romantic holiday...?

"If you would be embarrassed we need not." Rein was, as usual, completely deadpan. Good luck figuring out whether she's teasing you back or not, Hayate.

"You aren't really worried about me being embarrassed, now are ya?"

...or she could just ask. "I don't think you would be. We are already close, after all. It is not bold to show affection to someone you are already close to, is it? Only natural..."

Though for Rein, to do what was 'natural' was not always easy.

"You do know the significance o' th' holiday, right?"

"It is a lover's holiday, is it not? We are not that, but you are still the one I love most."

That much, at least, was easy for her to say. She had been sure, since the moment she had received her name, that what she felt for Hayate deserved that word that humans could hold so high.

She smiles slightly. "Are you worried that I would be embarrassed?"

"Hehe," Haah, Hayate gave something of a sigh. She was well loved, and yet, so single. Oh well, she counted her blessings as plentiful none the less. "You, embarrassed? That's pretty hard to do~"

Rein looked down at her 'Santa' outfit, the skirt of which had managed to ride a few inches higher up thanks to the slight adjustments sitting on someone's lap for any length of time entailed.

"So it seems," she said. Maybe just maybe, a bit ruefully.
