Alliances [Bendytimed to pre-Second Life]

The test was over. They somehow managed to win.

Now, however, it was time to find out exactly what their hard work got them.

"Attention crew,"
Commander Rahk sent out over the comm system. "Please report to the Obs Deck. Both the GIA and Dalgig High Commands are on the line currently waiting to give their report on your performance today."

Vivio was one of the first to arrive. If anything, she was just a little sore from the fight, but at the very least, she succeeded in not getting taken out. Even if one of those maneuvers did cost her her jacket - something that can always come back.

Rolling her shoulder a bit, she made she was okay before she entered.

Hikari sighed, holding Tailmon in her arms as she arrived after Vivio. They had managed to do what they were supposed to, so that was awesome. Now they just needed to see what this was about.

Vivio noticed Hikari nearby and smiled at her.

"You okay, Hikari-chan?" she asked.

Hikari smiled back towards Vivio. "Yeah, I'm doing alright. Just a bit tired after that simulation."

Marco, naturally, was already there. Had been there for a while, actually - he and Tobias had been taking turns spying on Rahk since not long after the Lensmen around. Mostly in various bug morphs - but today, Marco had decided to morph 'Cinnabon' the Irish Setter. Partly so that he could be a bit more mobile, but also so he could use it to annoy Revus (who was clearly asking for it).

Which is why Revus had had a red-furred dog running circles around his feet for the past ten minutes.

If he'd been human, Marco would have grinned. Sure, he might have been following Rahk this whole time, but he'd seen enough of Revus to find the jackass really annoying. So he gleefully gave Revus's foot just a little nip before bounding over to Ippli.

Now, Ippli - he was much more of Marco's kinda guy. Revus needed to get the stick out of his ass, Rakh was just plain boring, but Ippli was fun.

Against all odds, it appeared that they had made a dent in Ohm forces. It had been rough, of course, and Billy was exhausted, but he felt a cautious optimism.

He mustn't be too optimistic, though. For all he knew, that was a miserable failure and they would all be cast off into space to await their doom. That would be problematic to say the least, but after all of this?

It wasn't how probability worked, he knew, but his baser human emotions felt that something had to go right for them eventually.

[identity profile] kaya-waterwave.livejournal.com 2010-12-21 08:53 pm (UTC)(link)
Well even so Billy, you would manage to see someone who had been watching your progress and was pretty darn impressed too. And this very same person, who was quite battered and, due to her own excursion, dead on her feet, would not let that stop her from hugging him lightly.

"You were great back there!" Katara said, smiling despite the scrapes she would heal on her own in a few minutes anyway. "But I think we all were. It's great to finally get this kind of training against the Ohm. How did your rangers do?"
morphitudinous: (Display of affection)

[personal profile] morphitudinous 2010-12-21 09:10 pm (UTC)(link)
The sudden armful of Katara wrapped around him startled Billy out of his worries, prompting him to return the hug delicately. Most of their end of the combat had been inside the Zords, so their team had only suffered a few light scrapes, but exhaustion plagued almost everyone.

"You were as wonderful as always," he answered, still in awe of the beauty of waterbending despite how much of it he'd seen by now. "I'm really proud of them. I worried the entire time, but somehow we survived. With practice we may do better."

[identity profile] kaya-waterwave.livejournal.com 2010-12-21 11:29 pm (UTC)(link)
She knew she probably should have gone more easy on Billy, but she was really happy to see him, and was decidedly grateful for the people she was able to be around these days.

"Thank you," she said, bowing gratefully. "I was afraid I would be a bit rusty, since I've been mostly healing in the fights most times, but it turns out I just needed to get back into it again. I know you'll do better in the same way!"
morphitudinous: (...what in the name of)

[personal profile] morphitudinous 2010-12-21 11:37 pm (UTC)(link)
It was all right, really. Billy's aches would fade with time, and they easily could have been worse.

"It's difficult to forget those instincts. As long as you train every so often, you'll always be a formidable force."

More formidable than him, anyway. He'd had to retreat to the Tigerzord to do real damage, and even that had mostly been reinforcing a wall. Still, anything that would help was worth it.

"I'm just relieved that it's over. What do you think they'll say?"

[identity profile] kaya-waterwave.livejournal.com 2010-12-22 12:39 am (UTC)(link)
She nodded. "I'm starting to think that I could never forget how to fight, not unless I had to have all of my memories taken away. But I have to start practicing again: I feel like I could have been faster."

She fought enough to know what her speed was: she could do better.

"I'm not sure. Whatever it is, let's hope its more information about the fight."
morphitudinous: (Silly)

[personal profile] morphitudinous 2010-12-22 03:56 am (UTC)(link)
"I'm still not strong enough to practice with you as an equal, but perhaps you can find more inventive ways to knock me down," Billy offered cheekily.

When they mentioned the information to come, he tapped the datapad he had managed to find. "Right, I'll be here taking notes."

[identity profile] kaya-waterwave.livejournal.com 2010-12-22 04:02 am (UTC)(link)
Katara frowned at him. "I've had years of practice, and then I practiced more when I got on his ship. Don't sell yourself short Billy: I'm nowhere near as intelligent as you are, but that doesn't mean I'm not going to try and better what I know. You do the same, and you'll be able to hold your own."

She nodded. "Good. I'll be paying attention too: I want to make sure that we're starting to get prepared."
morphitudinous: (Back of a head)

[personal profile] morphitudinous 2010-12-22 04:05 am (UTC)(link)
Billy nodded obediently: he'd heard the lecture before, knew he needed to be more confident. But feeling confident when your sister kicks your butt across the mat six ways to Tuesday is a little...difficult, to say the least.

"I'm trying, Katara. I still attend classes almost every day and practice in between, because I know how urgent it is. It's all I can do."

[identity profile] kaya-waterwave.livejournal.com 2010-12-22 04:40 am (UTC)(link)
"Then as long as you stick to that, you'll get better in no time. It's okay to fall on your face as long as you learn something from it so you don't do it again. I have confidence in you."

He was the blue ranger, after all. Like her, she thought of him as someone who adapted to things that changed around him. That was why he was learning this in the first place.
morphitudinous: (Positive)

[personal profile] morphitudinous 2010-12-22 04:43 am (UTC)(link)
"As long as nothing else breaks my nose," he muttered, rubbing it with some agitation.

Billy was happy to have her guiding him, though. It helped quite a bit.

[identity profile] kaya-waterwave.livejournal.com 2010-12-22 04:55 am (UTC)(link)
"Believe me, that happens way more often than you think," Katara says. "I was lucky it didn't happen to be more often, honestly."

Just as he was glad to have her there, she was glad to know someone as intelligent as him around. It was definitely as good as martial arts in her book.

That had actually been kinda fun. Getting the chance to kill Ohm without any risk of danger to himself or anyone else... but of course, it was a test. That had sobered Kang up quite a bit. He stood with his arms crossed over his chest a good distance away from Commander Rahk and the others, watching them surreptitiously. It was amusing seeing the damn nuisance of a dog pestering Revus, too.

...wait. Was that - if that was Marco, he wouldn't be surprised one bit. That son of a bitch (literally, at the moment).

Hey, watch what you think about Marco's mother, Kang!

As for Marco himself - he knew Kang was there, of course. He'd remembered what Kang's scent was like from when he'd morphed dog before, and had smelled the draconian as he came in. He hadn't really intended to talk to Kang yet - but after seeing some of the events from the simulation, he couldn't resist the urge to remark on it.

<Dude, lightning bolts? Lightning bolts?> he said in private thought-speech to Kang, while continuing to run around Revus's feet (hey, he had a cover to maintain, after all). <What's next, Magic Missile?>

Re: Arrivals

...it was. Kang scowled and moved to about 45 feet away, pulling a short piece of copper wire out of one of his pouches. A quick glance around showed that no one was looking his way, so he pointed at the dog and whispered a few words under his breath, "You were the damn dog from before. I should have figured it out sooner. And you missed it; I did cast that spell earlier. How the hell do you know about it anyways?"

At that, Marco laughed. Hard. Well, as hard as you could laugh in thought-speak, anyway. <Dude, you really have walked out of D&D, haven't you? Oh man, this is classic. Hey, what have you got in your inventory, huh? Magic scrolls? Health potions? A plus one flaming sword?>

Next to the Lensmen he settled down, too busy being amused by the fact that Kang was a freaking D&D character to continue nipping at Revus's heels. <And come on Kang - I'd have though you would know by now that you can't assume that any animal is just 'normal'. Even without me and the other Animorphs, you've still got magic talking kitties running around.> He avoided looking at Kang directly, but he still wore a doggy grin. <Guess you must have failed a spot check, huh?>

It took Kang a moment to respond, shocked by the sudden realization that maybe the world he was from was considered to be fictional to others on the ship. He'd heard about some of the others, but he'd never thought about it being true in his case.

"The elf is more likely to have scrolls and potions than me. You are going to explain what the hell D&D is to me later. After you're done with this assignment. While we're on the subject, do you have anything to report?"

Nathan took the express route to the Obs Deck. Namely flying from the Sensoriums up, and striding inside. They done well, hopefully it would now be enough for the acknowledgment and support from the GIA and Dalgig.

Re: Arrivals

[identity profile] hit-girl-mindy.livejournal.com 2010-12-21 08:45 pm (UTC)(link)
Hit girl was sure this was another one of those meet and greet sort of things, and while the idea of more talking depressed her, at least she'd gotten her fair share of fighting in with the simulation. If anything, she was now ready to start bashing against more of the Ohm, and had more of an understanding about how they fought. She'd gotten pretty bruised too, so all in all it was a good day.

She waited, then look around to see of anyone she knew was about.

Alex hadn't been at the actual test, but that didn't mean that he didn't want to see how things turned out. As usual for him, he stayed by the back wall, listening and watching quietly as things went on.

Jamie was feeling a bit like a wrung out dishrag, but he certainly was not about to avoid finding out about the results of the test - especially not after fighting in the mock battle. Fortunately there was a bit of spare wall available that he could prop himself up against while waiting to for everything to start. He leaned up against it, and glanced around the room tiredly. It seemed he wasn't the only one who looked tired, but it would be worth it if they were able to get the help they needed.

The Daligig

[identity profile] fate-favored.livejournal.com 2010-12-21 04:19 am (UTC)(link)
Once the crew had spoken with the GIA representatives, it was then time for the (even more) important part of this business.

The Daligig.

A new, alien figure appeared on the screen, rather serious looking despite being rather diminutive.

It had been a while since the Daligig had been in direct contact with the crew, so most of them probably wouldn't even know who they were talking to.

"Captain...Kennedy, was it?" he said. "Are you there?"

"Yes," Leon answered, stepping forward.

"Captain Leon S. Kennedy," he introduced himself. "And you are...?"

"Heirarch Zaln," he said. "I represent Daligig High Command."

"I'll cut right to the chase. Commander Rahk has told me that in exchange for passing his test, you wanted all of Stacy's security codes. Is this correct?"
governmentninja: (Leon)

Re: The Daligig

[personal profile] governmentninja 2010-12-21 04:40 am (UTC)(link)
He nodded firmly. "Yes. If we ever hope to fully utilize every feature that this ship has, we'll need them."

Re: The Daligig

[identity profile] fate-favored.livejournal.com 2010-12-21 04:56 am (UTC)(link)
Zaln sighs.

"Unfortunately, there are some in Daligig High Command that believe you all should be placed back in podsleep until we can get some of our personnel out there to act as handlers for you. Those on that side don't believe you can fully handle the responsibility on your own."

"However," he added, his tone lightening a bit, "There are those of us on your side. With your recent actions and your performance today, we've managed to negotiate a compromise."

He taps a series of commands into a console next to him. All of a sudden, Stacy speaks up.

||Attention, all crew. As of this moment, Leon S. Kennedy is officially recognized as acting captain. I repeat, Leon S. Kennedy is officially recognized as acting captain.||

"You'll be receiving a limited list of command codes and security codes," he continued. "You won't be able to alter the Transmigration 9's overall course, either, but you can designate short detours."

"In addition, you will all be recognized as full members of Stacy's official crew, and as such you will all be able to access the armory and equipment designated for the original crew."

"I know it's not quite as much as you'd like," Zaln said, "But for the moment it's the best we can do."
governmentninja: (Thoughtful)

Re: The Daligig

[personal profile] governmentninja 2010-12-21 05:21 am (UTC)(link)
Well, it was more than what they had before. But Zaln was right, in that it was not as much as he would like.

"Well, on behalf of my crew, I'd like to thank you for your assistance, and let you know that we do appreciate it. Though... I would like to ask one more favor; if you could pass along a message from me to the rest of the Daligig High Command."

Re: The Daligig

[identity profile] fate-favored.livejournal.com 2010-12-21 05:22 am (UTC)(link)

governmentninja: (Stand Proud)

Re: The Daligig

[personal profile] governmentninja 2010-12-21 05:49 am (UTC)(link)
There was a bit of a pause, as Leon had to figure out how to phrase this.

"Tell them that we do appreciate the assistance they're providing. But also tell them that the reality of the situation is this: Stacy is our ship now. Regardless of how we ended up in this situation, and whether we wanted to be or not, this ship is our home, we're her crew, and we're in the war against the Ohm. Just taking on the Ohm will be enough of an uphill battle as it is, continuing to handicap us doesn't help anyone in High Command, and certainly doesn't help us out here." He paused here, backing off a bit so he didn't come off as combative.

"You had us rescued because you believed we could help, and we want to help. But it'll be hard for us to do that if we're fighting the ship as much as we're fighting the Ohm." Hell, at this juncture, they've spent more time fighting the ship than they have fighting the Ohm.

"Tell them we need all the codes. Everything. Because if they don't give us everything that they can, then there's no way we can do everything we're capable of, and nobody wins then." Except maybe the Ohm.

Re: The Daligig

[identity profile] fate-favored.livejournal.com 2010-12-21 05:24 pm (UTC)(link)
Zaln nodded.

"We'll continue to do what we can for you on this end. It might take a while, but we'll make sure you're in fighting shape for the Ohm."

"Good luck, Captain."
