Alliances [Bendytimed to pre-Second Life]
The test was over. They somehow managed to win.
Now, however, it was time to find out exactly what their hard work got them.
"Attention crew," Commander Rahk sent out over the comm system. "Please report to the Obs Deck. Both the GIA and Dalgig High Commands are on the line currently waiting to give their report on your performance today."

Arrivals
They seemed quite serious. This was, after all, important business to deal with.
Re: Arrivals
Rolling her shoulder a bit, she made she was okay before she entered.
Re: Arrivals
Which is why Revus had had a red-furred dog running circles around his feet for the past ten minutes.
Re: Arrivals
"Commander," he said almost desperately. "Can I please just shoot this thing out an airlock or something?"
"No, recruit," the Commander replied. "Just bear with it."
Revus grumbled under his breath, tempted to kick the mutt that was still bothering him.
Re: Arrivals
Re: Arrivals
Now, Ippli - he was much more of Marco's kinda guy. Revus needed to get the stick out of his ass, Rakh was just plain boring, but Ippli was fun.
Re: Arrivals
"You okay, Hikari-chan?" she asked.

He mustn't be too optimistic, though. For all he knew, that was a miserable failure and they would all be cast off into space to await their doom. That would be problematic to say the least, but after all of this?
It wasn't how probability worked, he knew, but his baser human emotions felt that something had to go right for them eventually.
Re: Arrivals
...wait. Was that - if that was Marco, he wouldn't be surprised one bit. That son of a bitch (literally, at the moment).
Re: Arrivals
As for Marco himself - he knew Kang was there, of course. He'd remembered what Kang's scent was like from when he'd morphed dog before, and had smelled the draconian as he came in. He hadn't really intended to talk to Kang yet - but after seeing some of the events from the simulation, he couldn't resist the urge to remark on it.
<Dude, lightning bolts? Lightning bolts?> he said in private thought-speech to Kang, while continuing to run around Revus's feet (hey, he had a cover to maintain, after all). <What's next, Magic Missile?>
Re: Arrivals
The GIA
It now displayed an image of three authoritative figures sitting behind a large, metallic desk. One of them was an older human male, and another was a Kanil much like Revus. The third was a new type of alien they hadn't met before, with strange, bony coverings over its skin.
The three Lensemen gave the three figures a quick salute, and the unknown alien gave them a nod to set them at ease.
"Commander," the figure said. "Good to hear from you again. Shall we get right down to business, then?"
"I believe that would be prudent, Admiral," Rahk replied.
The figure nodded in reply, before looking out to the gathered crew.
"I am Admiral Oroku, and these are Admiral Zalus and Admiral Hale," he said, motioning to himself, the Kanil, and the human respectively. "We represent the military arm of GIA High Command. Commander Rahk here asked us to review his report along with footage of your recent simulation."
He looks at each of the other Admirals in turn, both giving him a nod.
"We all agree that you've shown remarkable skill, determination, and potential. The Daligig seem to believe you're some kind of hope against the Ohm, and from what we've seen...well...you're the closest thing we've got, at least."
"Therefore, we've decided that it's in the GIA's best interest to cooperate with your crew. As such, we'll be delivering the supplies Commander Rahk listed that he said you requested. In addition, you will be given special clearance at all GIA outposts, and can request assistance and supplies from nearby available GIA forces if necessary."
"That's about all we can do for you at the moment, as our resources are spread thin with the war. We hope it helps, though."
Re: Arrivals
Next to the Lensmen he settled down, too busy being amused by the fact that Kang was a freaking D&D character to continue nipping at Revus's heels. <And come on Kang - I'd have though you would know by now that you can't assume that any animal is just 'normal'. Even without me and the other Animorphs, you've still got magic talking kitties running around.> He avoided looking at Kang directly, but he still wore a doggy grin. <Guess you must have failed a spot check, huh?>
The Daligig
The Daligig.
A new, alien figure appeared on the screen, rather serious looking despite being rather diminutive.
It had been a while since the Daligig had been in direct contact with the crew, so most of them probably wouldn't even know who they were talking to.
"Captain...Kennedy, was it?" he said. "Are you there?"
Re: Arrivals
"The elf is more likely to have scrolls and potions than me. You are going to explain what the hell D&D is to me later. After you're done with this assignment. While we're on the subject, do you have anything to report?"
Re: The Daligig
"Captain Leon S. Kennedy," he introduced himself. "And you are...?"
Re: Arrivals
Re: The Daligig
"I'll cut right to the chase. Commander Rahk has told me that in exchange for passing his test, you wanted all of Stacy's security codes. Is this correct?"
Re: The Daligig
Re: The Daligig
"Unfortunately, there are some in Daligig High Command that believe you all should be placed back in podsleep until we can get some of our personnel out there to act as handlers for you. Those on that side don't believe you can fully handle the responsibility on your own."
"However," he added, his tone lightening a bit, "There are those of us on your side. With your recent actions and your performance today, we've managed to negotiate a compromise."
He taps a series of commands into a console next to him. All of a sudden, Stacy speaks up.
||Attention, all crew. As of this moment, Leon S. Kennedy is officially recognized as acting captain. I repeat, Leon S. Kennedy is officially recognized as acting captain.||
"You'll be receiving a limited list of command codes and security codes," he continued. "You won't be able to alter the Transmigration 9's overall course, either, but you can designate short detours."
"In addition, you will all be recognized as full members of Stacy's official crew, and as such you will all be able to access the armory and equipment designated for the original crew."
"I know it's not quite as much as you'd like," Zaln said, "But for the moment it's the best we can do."
Re: Arrivals
Re: Arrivals
Re: The Daligig
"Well, on behalf of my crew, I'd like to thank you for your assistance, and let you know that we do appreciate it. Though... I would like to ask one more favor; if you could pass along a message from me to the rest of the Daligig High Command."
Re: The Daligig
Re: Arrivals
Re: The Daligig
"Tell them that we do appreciate the assistance they're providing. But also tell them that the reality of the situation is this: Stacy is our ship now. Regardless of how we ended up in this situation, and whether we wanted to be or not, this ship is our home, we're her crew, and we're in the war against the Ohm. Just taking on the Ohm will be enough of an uphill battle as it is, continuing to handicap us doesn't help anyone in High Command, and certainly doesn't help us out here." He paused here, backing off a bit so he didn't come off as combative.
"You had us rescued because you believed we could help, and we want to help. But it'll be hard for us to do that if we're fighting the ship as much as we're fighting the Ohm." Hell, at this juncture, they've spent more time fighting the ship than they have fighting the Ohm.
"Tell them we need all the codes. Everything. Because if they don't give us everything that they can, then there's no way we can do everything we're capable of, and nobody wins then." Except maybe the Ohm.
Re: The Daligig
"We'll continue to do what we can for you on this end. It might take a while, but we'll make sure you're in fighting shape for the Ohm."
"Good luck, Captain."

Re: Arrivals
She waited, then look around to see of anyone she knew was about.

"You were great back there!" Katara said, smiling despite the scrapes she would heal on her own in a few minutes anyway. "But I think we all were. It's great to finally get this kind of training against the Ohm. How did your rangers do?"
no subject
"You were as wonderful as always," he answered, still in awe of the beauty of waterbending despite how much of it he'd seen by now. "I'm really proud of them. I worried the entire time, but somehow we survived. With practice we may do better."
no subject
"Thank you," she said, bowing gratefully. "I was afraid I would be a bit rusty, since I've been mostly healing in the fights most times, but it turns out I just needed to get back into it again. I know you'll do better in the same way!"
no subject
"It's difficult to forget those instincts. As long as you train every so often, you'll always be a formidable force."
More formidable than him, anyway. He'd had to retreat to the Tigerzord to do real damage, and even that had mostly been reinforcing a wall. Still, anything that would help was worth it.
"I'm just relieved that it's over. What do you think they'll say?"
no subject
She fought enough to know what her speed was: she could do better.
"I'm not sure. Whatever it is, let's hope its more information about the fight."
no subject
When they mentioned the information to come, he tapped the datapad he had managed to find. "Right, I'll be here taking notes."
no subject
She nodded. "Good. I'll be paying attention too: I want to make sure that we're starting to get prepared."
no subject
"I'm trying, Katara. I still attend classes almost every day and practice in between, because I know how urgent it is. It's all I can do."
no subject
He was the blue ranger, after all. Like her, she thought of him as someone who adapted to things that changed around him. That was why he was learning this in the first place.
no subject
Billy was happy to have her guiding him, though. It helped quite a bit.
no subject
Just as he was glad to have her there, she was glad to know someone as intelligent as him around. It was definitely as good as martial arts in her book.
