The Sinking Feeling You Get When You Eat Magic Food

Welcome meatship crewmembers to the instrument of pure silly.

It had been a long period of waiting, but a prank was about to be issued after these dire dark times. As such, tables were set up around the WITCH Bus and other locations, unmanned stands where Lemonade and Brownies were available with the compliments of your friendly companions.

Do you dare risk chocolately goodness or sour-sweetness to discover it's dark delicious secrets?

(ooc: tag around, bug others and feel free to continue to madness. IC duration is about a day. Unless you deliberately take more with you. As a reminder, Lemonade brings you up ages to a good looking adultish level. Brownies turn you into kids. GO NUTS. Refer to the ooc post for details and ask questions there.)

Alex felt a little weird carrying his best friend like this.

"You kn-know, while we're like this, w-we should take advantage of it, an' do something... er, fun."

[identity profile] alterniantaurus.livejournal.com 2010-11-19 11:31 am (UTC)(link)
Moving slowly to avoid dislodging Alice, Tavros glances up uncertainly.

"Uhh... what exactly, did you have in mind?"

[identity profile] hack-rat.livejournal.com 2010-11-19 02:46 pm (UTC)(link)
Alex was silent as he thought for a moment. "I dunno... M-maybe try ta s-scare the girls, or something..."

He was trying to think back on pranks that kids would play.

[identity profile] alterniantaurus.livejournal.com 2010-11-19 05:34 pm (UTC)(link)
"People aren't scared of us, um, at all, when we're our right ages. What makes you think, anyone here will be scared of a couple of little kids?"

[identity profile] hack-rat.livejournal.com 2010-11-19 09:31 pm (UTC)(link)
Alex smiled down at Tavros, "'C-cause you're a giant grub, an' m-most girls I know are afraid o-of bugs!"

[identity profile] alterniantaurus.livejournal.com 2010-11-19 11:01 pm (UTC)(link)
"But, I'm not really a bug..." On second thought, it doesn't seem like there's much of a distinction to be made here. He is basically an oversized maggot right now. And it might be kind of fun not to be on the receiving end of a prank for once.

"Well, okay, but... let's not, scare anyone too badly."

[identity profile] hack-rat.livejournal.com 2010-11-20 09:09 am (UTC)(link)
"Er, I th-think you might be right. Wh-what if they g-get angry?" He shifted Tavros again gently so that he was now cradled in his arms. "S-sorry 'bout that..."

Alice seemed to like this position better too as she laid on top of Tavros.

[identity profile] alterniantaurus.livejournal.com 2010-11-20 01:36 pm (UTC)(link)
Tavros does too, actually. He settles in again as he's shifted.

"It's okay, um, it might've been, kind of fun. But, kind of mean, too."

[identity profile] hack-rat.livejournal.com 2010-11-21 09:33 pm (UTC)(link)
Alex laughs a bit, "I-it's the sorta thing that s-seems less mean as a k-kid. A lot of the b-boys in my school d-did things like that to the g-girls."

[identity profile] alterniantaurus.livejournal.com 2010-11-21 10:16 pm (UTC)(link)
"Oh, you mean, to troll them."

That makes sense to Tavros. Trolls are constantly doing stuff like that to each other, but he didn't realize it was so common among humans too.

[identity profile] hack-rat.livejournal.com 2010-11-22 07:02 am (UTC)(link)
Alex laughed, "Yeah, ta t-troll them."

It might not be as prevalent in human society as it was in troll society, but it certainly did occur.

[identity profile] alterniantaurus.livejournal.com 2010-11-22 11:35 am (UTC)(link)
"Troll" is a versatile, nuanced word where Tavros comes from. Not quite as annoyingly prevalent as "smurf" but it still pops up a lot in their speech.

Tavros assumes Alex understands.

"Well, um, I've never been, very good at that sort of thing anyway. So, uh, I guess we can just, find your friend for right now, and get you clothes that fit."

[identity profile] hack-rat.livejournal.com 2010-11-25 03:18 am (UTC)(link)
Alex might not understand all of the nuances, but at least troll also had that definition in his world. Still, he couldn't help but laugh. "A t-troll that's b-bad at trolling, who'd ever think!"

After a second he paused and looked back down at Tavros, "I didn' r-realize t-troll also meant that i-in your culture too." It seemed a bit odd.

[identity profile] alterniantaurus.livejournal.com 2010-11-25 03:55 am (UTC)(link)
He grins, looking a little embarrassed as Alex laughs. Yeah, he's heard that a million times. "You're right, I guess. I should probably be more, uh, antagonistic. But, that just leads to the trolled person getting you back, and, um, so on. I'm not interested, in that sort of thing."

He looks back up at Alex. "Well, uh, the word, 'troll', can have all kinds of, uh, definitions and connotations. It mostly depends, on context."

[identity profile] hack-rat.livejournal.com 2010-11-25 04:14 am (UTC)(link)
"W-well, if it's any help, I-I like you the way y-you are. W-we... m-might not g-get along so well if you were more a-antagonistic."

He smiled down at Tavros. He really was glad that Tavros didn't troll him all the time. Even he really only liked trolling trolls- human trolls- as almost a form of defence. Even then he had the anonymity of the internet.

[identity profile] alterniantaurus.livejournal.com 2010-11-25 03:19 pm (UTC)(link)
"Thanks. I think, I'd prefer getting along with people, um, like you said." Tavros looks cheerful again. Failed troll or no, he was having a much easier time with humans. It was a nice change of pace.

[identity profile] hack-rat.livejournal.com 2010-11-26 05:44 am (UTC)(link)
Since Tavros had shown up, Alex had felt a lot more comfortable on the ship. He finally knew someone that he could share his interests with. He had really never expected to find someone that he'd be able to play card games with or talk about mmos.

"I prefer you g-getting along with p-people too." If Tavros wasn't the way he was, Alex would have still been alone in that room. Even though he still felt bad about the whole thing with Luna, at least Tavros had been there. Every day. It made things easier, even if just a little. The friendship was still no less appreciated now that Luna was back, not that he would have the nerve to admit all of this to Tavros. He could only hope that his smile could convey at least some of it.

[identity profile] alterniantaurus.livejournal.com 2010-11-26 09:26 pm (UTC)(link)
Maybe Tavros isn't consciously aware of it, but he understands all this well enough on some level. He's gotten used to having just his lusus around for company, so it's still sort of awesome to have a good friend around he can ask about all this human stuff he doesn't understand, or even just play and talk games with. Or stay up late talking to into the small hours, as they've done a few times.

"Well then, I guess it's a good thing, um, that we can't help our natures. Anyway. Let's hope this stuff wears off soon. I just realized, that I can't even play cards, uh, like this!"

[identity profile] hack-rat.livejournal.com 2010-11-29 11:41 pm (UTC)(link)
Alex looked down at Tavros with true horror, "O-oh god, y-you're right! We b-better h-hurry an' figure th-things out fast then!"
