The Sinking Feeling You Get When You Eat Magic Food

Welcome meatship crewmembers to the instrument of pure silly.

It had been a long period of waiting, but a prank was about to be issued after these dire dark times. As such, tables were set up around the WITCH Bus and other locations, unmanned stands where Lemonade and Brownies were available with the compliments of your friendly companions.

Do you dare risk chocolately goodness or sour-sweetness to discover it's dark delicious secrets?

(ooc: tag around, bug others and feel free to continue to madness. IC duration is about a day. Unless you deliberately take more with you. As a reminder, Lemonade brings you up ages to a good looking adultish level. Brownies turn you into kids. GO NUTS. Refer to the ooc post for details and ask questions there.)

"No rushin', no rushin'," she repeated, slowing down as she approached. When she finally stopped, it was to readjust her pant legs again.

"Brownies?"

"Affirmative." By this point, he'd pulled out his too-big work gloves and started pulling one apart. "I've done what I can to detect the enchantment, but this magic is outside of technology's reach."

Billy rolled the crumbs in his hand, still frowning. "And the lemonade's caused an increase in age. That would have been less debilitating."

It could easily be worse, but he would never like it.

The lemonade wouldn't have been so bad, she has to agree. They probably wouldn't even have noticed the change. Kaylee raised an eyebrow at the glove, but said nothing on it.

"Seen Nanoha around? Maybe she'd be able to find out more."

Billy shook his head. "We've sent out a request for someone from the Magical Department, but it might be some time."

He walked closer, clear concern in his eyes. "Are you well otherwise? I haven't had too many ill effects, but everyone might not react the same way."

[identity profile] voiceofserenity.livejournal.com 2010-11-18 08:50 pm (UTC)(link)
Kaylee had a feeling they were going to have to wait a while no matter what. "It'll probly wear off eventually," she pointed out. Hopefully she was right.

"'Cept my clothes not fittin' 'M shiny. Least everybody's mind seems to be workin' halfway decent still."

"I hope you're right." She'd better be. He really didn't want to be stuck like this for any length of time.

Billy nodded. "That's a massive relief. If I'd lost my mental capabilities as well..." Shudder. He didn't want to think about it.

He looked at her again. "Maybe we can find a belt for you?" His own outfit is held together by a series of rags tied around him, almost mummy-like.

[identity profile] voiceofserenity.livejournal.com 2010-11-18 09:18 pm (UTC)(link)
Of course she was right. She had to be right, because there was no way she was wandering around like a kid when there was work to be done. "Could maybe use it for some of the smaller panel work..." It would be easier to fit into smaller spaces like this. The biggest problem, she realizes, would be getting her hands to work the way she wanted.

"Wouldn't be so bad if the torso of 'em wasn't so long. Just twice as big as normal." Yep, forget it. She shrugs out of the coveralls and tugs at her shirt. It's long enough, luckily, that it reaches just above her knees.

"True, but I'll wait to perform more daring maneuvers until we have a better idea of how long this is going to last. We don't need to return to our original forms at the wrong moment and be crushed."

Of course, still being Billy, he blushed and averted his eyes, taking the opportunity to see if anyone was coming. He...really didn't want to have anyone else squeal about what a cute kid he was.

[identity profile] voiceofserenity.livejournal.com 2010-11-18 09:29 pm (UTC)(link)
"Trial run," she agreed. Wait it out, see how long it lasted person to person, and if results were consistent it might be something they would be able to use later on.

Kaylee folded the coveralls neatly, ignoring the fact that they were as dirty and grease-stained as she was. "Just when you think the gorram ship and her crew can't throw any more surprises..."
morphitudinous: (Kid!Billy)

[personal profile] morphitudinous 2010-11-18 09:32 pm (UTC)(link)
"...I think it may have been a crew member or a small group of them," Billy admitted, still keeping his eyes firmly away from her. "Unpleasant surprises from the ship tend to be more direct."

Which worried him. If they were willing to do this, what else was in store? "I just hope there are enough people left in peak condition to defend us. I can invent, but I have much smaller limits."

[identity profile] voiceofserenity.livejournal.com 2010-11-18 09:34 pm (UTC)(link)
And there he went. Kaylee sighed and chucked her coveralls at Billy. "It'll be alright, yeah? Temporary. Have a little fun with it in the meantime, it won't kill ya. And if it does, you got full permission to haunt me and criticize all my work for the rest of my days."
morphitudinous: (Kid!Billy)

[personal profile] morphitudinous 2010-11-18 09:36 pm (UTC)(link)
"Hey!" And there was Billy trying to deflect her blow with his arms, setting the coveralls down as delicately as he could.

Slowly, cautiously, he turned back to face her. "...fun? How would you suggest having fun?"

Billy wasn't very fun as a child.

[identity profile] voiceofserenity.livejournal.com 2010-11-18 09:40 pm (UTC)(link)
Really, Billy? "They ain't china, you can just drop 'em." And to demonstrate, Kaylee grabbed the coveralls and did just that.

"Fun. Don't you know what fun is?" She picked the coveralls back up and started looking around the room. "Games or nothin'? Tag, hide 'n seek, bet we could even fit a playground in the Sensoriums..."
morphitudinous: (Kid!Billy)

[personal profile] morphitudinous 2010-11-18 10:00 pm (UTC)(link)
"...right." Well, doesn't he look embarrasssed.

"I suppose I could play. I've never personally participated before, but I watched others play those games---as long as we don't trip."

Which was really a nice way of saying they hadn't wanted him to play, but that was past now. And Billy was not about to start stripping.

[identity profile] voiceofserenity.livejournal.com 2010-11-18 10:40 pm (UTC)(link)
"Good of an excuse as any," she pointed out. "Give you an experience, if nothin' else, right?"

Kaylee was all about experiences anyhow, and Billy sorely needed some fun in his life. "C'mon, your choice of where to start, even."
morphitudinous: (Kid!Billy)

[personal profile] morphitudinous 2010-11-19 12:26 am (UTC)(link)
"...just what I need. Playtime."

Billy reluctantly caved, knowing Kaylee had him cornered. "All right, I'll play hide and seek. Why don't we start at the office buildings?"

[identity profile] voiceofserenity.livejournal.com 2010-11-19 07:27 pm (UTC)(link)
Exactly what he needed. "Might help you loosen up," she pointed out. "Good stress relief, playin' a game or two. Might have to start the crew in on Calvin Ball after this is done 'n over with."

Office buildings, of course. Kaylee closed her eyes and started counting. "You'd better get movin'...."
morphitudinous: (Kid!Billy)

[personal profile] morphitudinous 2010-11-19 08:22 pm (UTC)(link)
"...Calvin Ball?"

Already, though, she was counting. "I'll ask you later!" he yelled back over his shoulder as he took off. Unfortunately, she now knew which direction he'd run off in. Not good. Once he was far enough, he started sneaking in another direction. It would be pointless if she heard his footsteps, so he had to be careful.

Once he was approximately to the left of her, he ducked inside a lobby as quietly as he could---was the countdown almost done already? Drat. Thinking fast, he located the nearest object. There was a desk, with a cupboard just big enough to hold him on the bottom. Could he hide in there?

After quickly making some contortions, he curled into a tiny ball inside the drawer and closed the door. There, that should do it.

[identity profile] voiceofserenity.livejournal.com 2010-11-20 07:52 am (UTC)(link)
Explanations could definitely wait until later. Kaylee's counting continued until she got fed up with it, and then it was a simple matter of skipping a few numbers to get it over with faster.

Billy was no where in sight when her hands came away from her eyes, and she couldn't help but feel a little proud that she'd actually gotten him to play. Now she just had to find him. Most people didn't stay in the direction they were headed in first, so she could rule that out for now.

Quietly, she began sneaking around the buildings, looking carefully at each door. Occasionally she would investigate one, but she couldn't seem to find him. Either Billy was really good at Hide and Seek, or he had ditched her to go work.

Billy had closed the door well, but some debris might have been rustled outside from the movement. He couldn't fix the disturbance in dust, and...

...maybe, just maybe, one of the desks wobbled a little. He'd wait as long as he could, but it couldn't be all day.

[identity profile] voiceofserenity.livejournal.com 2010-11-28 08:41 am (UTC)(link)
Looking as closely and carefully as she was, the wobbling of the desk, however small, was hard to miss. Kaylee grinned and quietly moved closer to the desk. One hand reached for the handle, and--

"Gotcha!" she laughed, opening the drawer. "Almost had me with that one."

[personal profile] morphitudinous 2010-11-28 03:54 pm (UTC)(link)
"How disappointing," Billy joked, rolling out of the space somewhat painfully. It took a minute to get his limbs comfortable in their unfurled position, but everything was all right.

"Are you hiding, or would you rather play another game?" Billy's foot tapped as he thought. He didn't know very many games, but there had to be something they could do. Maybe building, he thought, idly playing with the items on top of the desk.

[identity profile] voiceofserenity.livejournal.com 2010-12-01 09:27 am (UTC)(link)
Kaylee was patient and let Billy get himself situated again while she took a better look around the building.

"Could hide if you like," she replied, peeking her head through one of the doors and up the stairs in the next room. "Could explore, too, or climb up somethin'..."
