It felt weird to be here in Castle Wyvern, without the stone building's usual occupants present. But, as he reminded himself, someone had to look after it, since Goliath and Elisa were no longer able to, and he was the only person left on board from that world.

Peter entered the library, and, given the lack of light to read by, used his Spider-Signal to hunt around for the lightswitch, and, once he found it, pulled out a book at random before starting to read.

Oh, a castle! Starfire, ever-curious, slipped inside once she had determined that no one would attack her for doing so. This place had been a proud home once, she thought, but it was now quiet.

Not entirely quiet, though, Who was there? Soon, Peter would see a green light followed by a floating girl who suddenly looked apologetic.

"I apologize! I was not aware that this was your home."

Peter sighed. He wasn't doing to good of a job of keeping an eye on the place if people were wanding in without him noticing.

"...it's not really my home. I mean, I guess technically it is because I'm going to be living here for the foreseeable future, but I'm just looking after it since Goliath either got grabbed by GLaDOS, or was put back in a pod."

"Anyways. Hi, I'm Peter Parker, occasionally known as Spider-Man. You?"

"Your friend Goliath was the owner, then," Starfire noted. "It is a large castle to occupy. Even the library is extensive," she smiled at it, briefly floating past one of the shelves.

"I am Starfire, and I am pleased to meet you," she chimed, smoothly offering a hand. "You are the hero with arachnid-based powers, yes?"

Peter shook his head. "He wasn't really the owner either, but explaining that would start a whole lesson on gargoyle culture that I'm not exactly prepped to give."

Taking the proffered hand, he said "That'd be me. And despite any rumors you may have heard, I definitely don't shoot webs out my butt."

"Then he was the guardian, and you are the new one? I intend no harm to this castle," she promised quickly.

Hooray, a handshake! Starfire is delighted. "There have been rumors? I understand the spider's predicament, but who would discuss that? It would be inconvenient for a human body, would it not?"

Great, you have her thinking about this in detail. Thanks Peter.

"Considering you came to me and apologized from coming in, I already figured that much out." He answered. As Starfire's thought process made itself known, Peter started looking a little bit mortified. "...I kinda thought there might've been, because Beast Boy seemed kinda mouthy like that. Just forget I said anything about it."

Starfire nodded, then shook her head vehemently. "No, he has not! Beast Boy is my friend. He is playful and sometimes engages in the role of the trickster, but he would never seek to injure your reputation."

She'll let the subject drop now. "How many of the books have you read?"

"Not a lot. My area of expertise and interest is science, and while there's more than a few books on that here, they're kinda outnumbered by the history books, magical tomes, and whatnot."

Ah, she understood. "The occupants studied magic? How interesting!"

She flitted about, briefly glancing at the spines. "Then you work in the departments of the sciences?"

"Yep. Mostly a chemist, which is actually how I managed to make up for my lack of natural webbing." he replied.

"So, uh, is Starfire you real name or just your superhero name?"

"You created your own webs?" Fascinating! So he's well-versed in tools, like Robin.

Starfire nodded, a small grin on her face. She heard that question about her name rather often. "It is the closest translation of my name in your language. On my planet, it is pronounced Koriand'r."

"It's a heck of a lot better than what mine means. Much like Charlie Brown at Halloween, all I got was a translation of Rock." He quipped.

Starfire disagrees.

"To be compared to a rock is not bad! It means that you are strong and stable, does it not?"
