The Queen's Legacy (Phase Two)

[PLOT POST HERE. Read it!]

As quickly as it had begun, the Tyrant's rampage down in the City was over. He was last seen disappearing into the alleys around Religion Row, where any pursuers were thrown off in the maze of temples and shrines. It was probably better they leave him alone in any case... seeing what had happened to those who didn't.

It had been a few hours. The City was once again quiet, dotted by small areas of destruction and trails of blood where the Tyrant had brawled with crew members. The injured had been gathered and shipped to the Outsider's hotel until they could be moved to medical proper. And though the situation was not over, it was safe enough to go down, survey the damage and start cleaning up.

...Maybe.

A few blocks from the hotel, something was quietly growing in the darkness of a rubble pile.

When the huge plant erupted from the area, Phillip frowned as he saw it from the window. "This is different," he said with a shake of his head.

"Everyone, I'm going out to face that thing," added the young man as he pulled a driver from his pocket, shaped like an L. "Ren, if you would be so kind as to back me up, I'd appreciate it."

And he placed it around his middle as he barked "FANG!"

There was a small dinosaur-like screech as a little device ran out to meet him and leaped into his hand. Pressing it down and flipping the tail over, he pressed the end of it.

"Henshin!" exclaimed Phillip, slamming the Fang Memory into the top of the Lost Driver and throwing it into the L shape.

exclaimed his belt as music played and the suit formed around him, spikes exploding from his body briefly before it settled down.

There was an entirely too smug look on Ren's face as he pulled out his Deck.

"Now let's show you how it's really done," he said, his Vent Buckle forming around him. He crossed his right arm in front of him and shouted, "Henshin!"

He slid the Deck into place on his belt, and reflective images of his armor converged onto him, forming it. Taking out the sword that acted as his Visor, he held it in front of him in a defensive position.

"Let's go," Knight said.

Flipping a cellphone open, Phillip typed in a few numbers and there was a ringing sound to it. Quickly, the rumble of the RevolGarry could be heard as it pulled up and split open. "We're going to have to use mobility and firepower for this," remarked Fang as he got into the already selected HardTurbler mode as he slung his leg over it.

"I trust you've got a cycle of your own?" inquired Fang of Knight as he revved the HardTurbler and the turbine engines fired up as it floated off the ground.

Ren could have summoned his Ride Shooter, but it wasn't suited for fighting. Instead, he selected his Contract Card, scanning it into his Visor.

There was a loud screeching sound as Darkwing exited the mini-Mirror World, flapping wildly. Recognizing Ren's need, he latched onto his back, extending his wings out like a cape. Ren took to the air, heading toward the battle.

Throwing the HardTurbler's throttle to full, the machine roared to life as Fang joined Knight on the way towards the battle. "We should join up with the main assault team. Two of us working together won't be enough," remarked the white Rider.

"Not a chance," Ren agreed grimly. "Do you have other allies to call on?"

"None so far," replied Phillip with a shake of his head. "I haven't gotten out much. There is the other two Riders but I haven't been able to reach them."

"Then we're just leaving this to chance," Ren realized. All they could do was hope that this was drawing attention from enough powerful people so that they would't all die horribly.

Vines began to slip between buildings and alleyways, feeling around to knock any would-be attackers over and hopefully, to wrap around them and throw them in the plant's gaping jaws like wiggling, fleshy Miracle Gro.

Heads up!

"Incoming!" barked Phillip when the Impending Sense of Doom (tm) reared it's ugly head and he threw the flying cycle into a twist to avoid the vines.

Lasers fired from the front of the vehicle as he banked the vehicle about.

One of the vines caught Ren and Darkwing, pinning the monster's wings to Ren's body. Ren managed to slide the blade of his Visor up into the coils. The rapier wasn't particulary sharp, but it could at least help him pry the vine away enough for Darkwing to spread his wings out.

Once freed, Ren began slashing at the vines with his Visor, batting them away as he flew in tight turns, doing all he could to confound them.

And it was working. Quick as they were, vines were just vines and not especially agile. Wrapping around corners and angles made it easy to get them all tied up with one another, so the Riders wouldn't have much difficulty reaching the center of the plant with their speed.

"Ren, let's close in," called out Fang as he made another pass, firing into the mess of vines. "We should meet up with the main attack force by now!"

"Right," Knight agreed.

But first, he needed to make sure he had a good weapon on hand. Soaring high into the air, above the reach of the vines, he scanned another Card.

A lance appeared in the air, hurtling toward him, and he caught it easily in his free hand. Heading back toward Fang, he slashed both the sword and his Visor at any vines that came near them.
