In Which Zetta Trains

Some people had said he ought to train.

Some people seemed to need training.

Some people he wanted to teach.

And the Overlord felt like being productive.

So he'd grabbed a sensorium, shut the safeties off, set up shop, and sent out a call. And divided the sensorium into three distinct parts...

Ruffnut was dancing around the blasts carefully and in a hurry but the last one sent her spinning through the air head over heels to come crashing to the ground at his feet helmet slipping down over her eyes.

"Ow." She grumbled.

Matt swung the weapon down at her forehead and cleared his throat. "Game set and match. So, what have you? Care to learn how to throw lightning like the gods?"

He had a good feeling she was a lightning element, something that tied in close to Quintessence.

Ruffnut blinked and rose slowly adjusting her helmet, "I think I have a concussion...either that or you just said...I could learn to do that?" She asked her eyes as big as dinner plates.

"I wouldn't rule out the concussion but I'm serious," said Matt with a grin. "My magic is all ruled by intent and Chaos Words. The form, intent and need to change and adjust the mana around you by sheer will alone. It's learnable and typically learned by just experimenting with magical force."

He held up a hand and lightning rolled off it harmlessly. "Five elements, five sub elements. You could use any words to ignite it, or just think it. I use gestures."

Ruffnut listened as the majority of his words turned to knots in her head. "So it's magic." She tried to simplify, "Magic I can do?" Yes that was really all she wanted to know. After all just imagine! She could be a legend when they saved their home.

"Pretty much. I'll have to bring you to the Lumia to give you a jumpstart of energy but it'll be a great way to sharpen your skills." said Matt as he let the lightning vanish.

Ruffnut's eyes blazed with a hunger she'd only just recently started to know. "Let's do it! Right now come on what are we waiting for?" She was bouncing on the balls of her feet eager to...learn! Of all things learn!

"Sounds good then," chuckled Matt as he tapped his cane back on the floor. Hopefully he'd be strong enough to walk on his own soon.

"Zetta, you good with she and I taking off to the bus real quick?"

"You bet," Zetta said, immensely pleased. So far this was turning out ever bit as nicely as he'd hoped.

He, however, would lay money that Ruffnut was a fire essence, or something very similar.
