Mission 01 -- Recovery : Planetside: Split up and Fan Out
The door opens to a lush green place. They've landed in a forest glade of some kind. Deciduous in nature, but the leaves are somewhat odd in shape and very, very thick and tall. The grass is a green that's almost a blue.
The sky is blue like a normal sky, but brighter, more vibrant than on Earth. Two moons hang there, so close that they're visible even in the daytime.
The air is fresh and clean-smelling, like after a rain--in fact, the moisture in the air means it may have rained here recently. There's even a cool, light breeze.
Curiously, when they come down the ramp, they'll see that the pod--its umbilical cord spiraling up miles upon miles to meet the ship, floating visibly in the atmosphere--is floating about six inches off the ground.

"If we knew what the conditions were like in this area, I'd ask to be put in the most dangerous. I can fight very well and I'm extremely difficult to kill, sir. That is no exaggeration. I'd rather it be me than risk somebody else."
He looks at Paco, shown only by the angle of his head. "If the captain says," he tells him.

"Although I hope none of you are expecting me to retrieve one of these things on my own."

"Would it not be better if we were assigned?" he asked Picard as he sort of drifted over to follow Dean around. "Begging pardon, but it seems sensible."

Taking a few steps away from the people he was standing close to, Malcolm put on the biggest most winningest smile he could manage. "Don't reckon I take to kind to that idea. Six teams means gettin' th' job done faster. So. Anyone who wants t' come with me is more than welcome to."

She stuck close to Kate and waited for the "adults" to get their act together. She folded her arms over her chest. This might take a while.

She raises her non-cannon arm, "I'll go with you."
This will end well.

Even if it seems a little up in the air as to who exactly is in charge here.
"However, I am capable of rendering emergency medical assistance if required, so should there be any teams in need of someone with those abilities, it would make sense for me to assist there."

"Well, it seems it's time for us to move out," he said.

He scowled heavily, as usual, and waited to be given orders.

Reaching out to grab Geoff by the arm and drag him closer, Dean glances at his new team, and grins.
"So, gang, what does a guy gotta do to get some Scooby Snacks 'round here?"

He's as curious as to what they'll think of him as to what judgements he'll get to make of them.

However, he is for once silent.

Still hadn't made up for all the brainsluggery, but it was pretty freaking cool.

Captain Picard and Doctor McCoy she'd met... But the others? She had no clue who they were, but it certainly was an interesting mixture.

Despite her previous experience in Company bag-and-tag missions, Elle doesn't really have a professional outlook, especially now that she isn't trying to impress her father. As long as she gets to do something exciting, she's happy - and hell, though she wasn't the outdoorsy type by a longshot, it was exciting just getting to walk around this place.
However, she was feeling more and more willing to get invested in the mission and get it right. Why? Because now she believes she's important. Clearly, some sort of future thing decided she was going to do awesomely, and she didn't want to let the future down (or even worse, not get to do something awesome).
Idly tugging on an oddly shaped plant, Elle suddenly chirps in "I want to be on Captain Suspenders' team!" She grins at Mal, tilting her blonde head to the side. He seemed like he'd be marginally more interesting than any of the other team leaders, who struck her as a little on the dull and uptight side. Being one of the cuter options certainly helped.

"Well step on up," the Captain said as he motioned Elle over. "Reckon we get the rest of this group together and we head out soon as we can. What's your name?"
Durr, just realized he wouldn't be wearing suspenders anyway. Whoops!
She resisted the urge to add anything to the effect of "you know, the great hero of prophecy". It would seriously detract cool points.

You're humped, Mal.
