Rage awakened [closed]
Devlin was out of control, there was no doubt about it. With the contagion in his system, he couldn't calm down. In his transformed state, he continued to attack Ben, swinging at him with an arm transformed into a crystal blade.
Their battle brought them to the park, but Devlin didn't seem to notice his surroundings. All that mattered was the fight.
[Since it's gotten so big, tagging order from here on out will be May, Devlin, Ben, Nura, Hikari]

But Devlin did have one thing on his side: complete madness. Without any regard for his own safety, he continued to charge, swiping and thrusting at Ben, forcing them closer and closer to the park.

But this peaceful study is interrupted by the ground suddenly shaking.
Startled, she almost drops the diagnostic pad.
"What the sprock was that?"

So what, precisely, had her jogging in the park in that very moment? She could not honestly tell you. Nor could she say why she had chosen to do it fully armed and armored.
The clash of titans, unseen to her, throws her off her feet, and there's a clattering of metal as she rolls and manages to right herself. It's an unladylike word in Drow that she spews, though. Luckily her ship-mom doesn't know that language...
For the moment, May leaves her sword where it is, scanning the park for the disturbance.

"You--you never...you treat me like I can't do anything," Devlin insisted. He'd already made this point before, but it was getting harder and harder to concentrate. Speaking coherently was already going out the window. "I can do more than you think!"

Ducking under, there was a flash of green light as Ben shifted to Spidermonkey, and fired a mass of webbing at the enraged kid. "Settle down!"
no subject
She descends to the ground, narrowly missing extra webbing. "What the sprock has gotten into you two?" Motherly tone makes its presence known.

Well, if that doesn't break it up, Maydril doesn't know what will. She'll just do her best to look mature (and worried) a few feet back.

So there Hikari was, flying on Nefertimon... to see Devlin and Ben fighting each other. "Devlin! Ben! What are you two doing!?"

"If Pegasmon were here, we could hold him back," Nefertimon commented.
Hikari frowned. "Well he isn't here so we need to try something!"
Sorry for the lateness y'all, haunted house work tonight.
"What in Elee's name is going on here?" she finally found voice to ask.
Re: Sorry for the lateness y'all, haunted house work tonight.
He blasted fire again, this time going with much more force, intent on throwing the others aside.

She sighed, flying up above and behind Devlin and throwing her arms forward, shooting a small beam of magic towards him.

"I will not be put down so easily!" Maydril shouted, though she still did not draw her sword. "I do not want to harm you, Devlin, but you leave me little choice!"
Half of that was bluster. The rest was cover, as she entered the mental state required to cast a diagnostic Life spell. She'd heard about the virus, but Maydril wasn't certain of her ability to affect it.
As she waited for the first spell to take effect, she crafted another--this time a Psi-laced suggestion--weren't you getting so very tired after this tantrum, Devlin? Didn't you just want to go to sleep? If it were successful, it would knock him right out. If not, with any luck, it still might leave him just a bit dazed.
Maydril whispered a murmured prayer to Elee. Please, just let this work!

But he was still getting hit by Ben and Hikari, and that only brought the anger back. Seeing Nura and Hikari flying over him, he went into the air, swiping at them and hitting Nura in the head.

Shifting back to Spidermonkey, he bit out, "I don't want to do this Devlin but you've forced our hand. You're going to calm down one way--" And he clicked the Omnitrix on his chest as it changed form. "Or another!"
Slapping it, his body grew up and up as he shifted form, changing from a lanky primate to a hugely muscled gorilla-like creature with six legs sprouting from the sides of his body as he stood up on it. "ULTIMATE SPIDERMONKEY!" roared the Ultimate as his jaws split open like a spiders mandible.
Ladies? This was your chance to go EEEEW. Don't waste it.

She drew the two-handed sword from its sheath on her back and ran to where Nura lay, tumbling into a sort of ready stance over the prone woman, blade readied.
"I hear you, Ben," she called. "I will protect Nura. Do what you have to!"
no subject
Of course, reason didn't mean much to a rage-infected zombie kid, and he charged at Ultimate Spidermonkey.

"Help me bind him!" called out Ben moments before impact.

She concentrated, moving her hands down to point at Ben as she focused on using her powers to increase his strength so he could hold Devlin down.

This time, she poured a good deal more of her magical capacity into the spell. She'd had the luck to daze him before--hopefully, this time, she'd affect him a bit more than that.
"Elee!" May cried, invoking the name of her goddess as her spell went off. "Strike now, Ben! Strike true!"

He couldn't keep his concentration anymore, and he stopped attacking.

Hikari's buff spun around his arm in a series of digital rings as he crouched low as he reared back. "Falcon...."
Somewhere Captain Falcon sneezed.
"PAAAUNCH!"
Ben's fist flew towards Devlin's gut with a resounding krackle-thoom and a noise much like a screaming dial up modem.
