Movies are but a shared dream [Open to Outsiders and potential Outsiders]
While he would have liked to try his new idea to watch movies using the sensoriums...it was important today's meeting happened at the Outsider headquarters.
He'd set up signs leading people from the front entrance to a conference room that he'd cleared out and filled with any comfortable types of furniture he could get his clever hands on. This resulted in a few sofas, a low table, a pair of ratty looking but comfy arm chairs, and a lamp.
All in all it wasn't impressive in the slightest...but Beastboy was proud of it. The most important thing about a movie viewing room was after all...the sound and screen.
The meeting room had already had a screen for presentations, and after some scrounging about the hotel he found a DVD player projector. The speakers proved more elusive.
He'd taken apart the intercom system in some of the rooms of the hotel and cobbled them together in...what he hoped would be an epic sound system.
Finally the finishing touch? Chili pepper lights along the top of the walls and a disco ball.
Yes...it was ready.

She had to admit though, that the decor of the room leaved a bit to be desired. The room was definitely far from being one of the nicer ones, but Beastboy had done the best that he could, and she smiled weakly at the concentrated effort. Besides, she didn't know what half of the other stuff in the room was anyway, it wasn't as if she could judge him on that.
...Although she DID wonder what the heck was up with that shiny blinky ball thing.
"Hey Beastboy! It looks, uh, great!"

"Bet you never saw one of those back with the Water Tribe ah?" He asked with a grin.

"And WHY would we need that for watching movies, Beastboy?"

Finally he answered decidedly, "Atmosphere. For you know...getting to know everyone." He paused again and looked awkwardly at the door, "Um...if anyone comes." The last part was meant to sound like a joke. It didn't.

She did yawn a little, if only because she was a little exhausted. "What movie did you have planned anyway?"

He was still in the habit of hiding when someone passed by, but he had said on the comms that he'd bring his laptop and try to set up some games to be played. He really had almost no knowledge on how to rig things, but at least he had to try, right? Maybe someone else could help with setting it up.

They had only talked a few times, mostly over the omnicomms, but that didn't mean he couldn't appreciate a fellow gamer. He put his arm out so that Alice could climb down- she had been seeming like she wanted to investigate this new rat- and let Alice approach Beastboy, sniffing at him and trying to figure out who he was.
no subject
"Cool rat dude." He greeted offering a hand in greeting for Alice to sniff.
no subject
"Th-thanks! Her name's Alice."

Finally, she'd come away with a somewhat large bag of potato chips after promising to help with some chores. Grinning, she plopped the bag down in front of the people gathered there.
"I have located the snacks!"
Once that was declared, she observed the decor. "You have been most creative with the lighting, Beast Boy."

Giggling, she turned her gaze around the room. "We will enjoy the film together."
If you guys are not cool with Lash bursting in, I will delete <3
"Hey guys! Guess w-" she looked around, utterly confused at the lighting.
"Uuuuh, what's with the spinning glass ball?" Being stuck in a war field for most of her life, she was completely confused by what it was supposed to represent. "Is it a holographic display for the movie?"
Nah, I love Lash :D

She doesn't announce herself. Simply walks in, with a small smile, and Spot at her heels, observing the decor with a tiny appreciation for Garfield's different taste in decorations.

"Laurie! You made it!"

Spot mimics Laurie's mood, circling Beastboy with his sniffer, and then sitting at the green teen's feet.

Standing up again he couldn't help but meet her eyes and feel a familiar fluttering in his stomach that surprised him. He hadn't felt that in awhile. Pushing it away "So like um...what kinda movies do you like?" He asked cheerfully.
no subject
"I like cozy, too," Laurie says. "Really just homey and warm is my favorite kind of decor." Her room back at the mansion would be proof of this hearthy style.
Laurie smiles at the question. "I like romance movies!" she says in a happy tone. But...like with Axl, she'll have to give some other options. "I also like some action and adventure movies. Maybe even a little science-fiction." Isn't she pretty much living an old science fiction movie at this moment?
