The F Afterglow (Thread takes a ride on the Train of Time [read: Bendy-Timed] to before Mole Plot)

(OOC notes: This might be kind of complicated, so I apologize if I mess something up: Basically, the middle section, for Visiting Hours, is open to anyone and everyone who wants to tag in: The first section is a flashback for Tsukasa, Nanashi, Rei, and Security, while the third is for Tsukasa and Nanashi to snark on one another. And now, with all that out of the way: Let's...Go On!)

Nighttime aboard Stacy: Folks, for the most part, snug as a bug in their beds. Except for a few, of course; like one Tsukasa Kadoya. He was up, taking some nighttime photos, enjoying the darkness. He browsed the city, taking pictures of things that seemed interesting. In a city, though, one can find many interesting things if one looks around. This is a tale of such an instance of looking around.

Deep down, Rei knew that he hated the vampire woman, and that he should never let her have taken his blood. He hated that feeling of having no control. And yet, he kept coming back to her. He kept letting her feed because some sick part of him liked it. The pull of the addiction, and then the release when she fed was the closest he could get to the intense feeling of the time stream. But he knew it was different. The time stream came with a feeling like nirvana, an understanding of all of time... but this, this was more a feeling of being used.

A gurgled cry of pain left his mouth when she first bit into him, in that secluded alleyway of the city, but it was cut short as the pain and euphoria spread through his body. His body went limp and he made no effort to fight her, though one look at his face made it perfectly clear he hated this.

Nanashi supported him in her arms, a faint smile on her lips, even as they wrapped around the skin on his neck as she drew deeply from Rei' natural supply of blood.

She enjoyed it with her whole being, like a human eating a gourmet meal. There was something different to Rei's blood, if only slightly, but it made her glad she had decided to make him her seritavi, even if he was rather resistant to her.

But she was jealous, jealous of that euphoric feeling that she knew Rei was experiencing. Well, even a spoiled queen couldn't get everything she wanted all the time. She would have to count her blessings on this one, at least until she found herself someone who would make a more willing seritavi.

There was something about the drinking of blood that made her feel powerful. It made her feel the full extent of her immortality, her speed, her strength. It made her feel invulnerable, though in truth when she was feeding was the most likely time that she would be lost to the outside world. It was the time where she was the most likely to be snuck up on.

Rei's mind felt fuzzy. He couldn't process his own thoughts as quickly as normally did. It didn't help that many other people's memories were swirling inside his head at once, making it difficult to focus on a single thing. So when he first heard the man speak, it hardly registered.

But then the transformation started. That certainly got his attention, though it was not quite enough to pull him out of the fog in his head. He turned his head slightly to watch the strange little show, though it was difficult to do with Nanashi holding him in place, and her fangs in his jugular. Like a gazelle that had been caught by a lion, there wasn't much he could do. What he could see out of his peripheral vision made him furrow his brow. Was this a hallucination brought on by blood loss? ...Did blood loss even result in hallucinations?

"Wha...?" He said out loud, not quite sure what exactly was going on now.

Nanashi withdrew her fangs and sealed the wound as usual before helping to steady Rei as she turned to face the strangely armoured guy.

Seriously. What was with this boy. She was just enjoying a meal from a 'consenting' party.

Nanashi didn't let Rei go. If she did, he would probably not yet be able to stand on his own. Better to give him a few moments to get his legs back. Then she would deal with this... pest.

With an eyebrow raised she cooed, "excuse me?"

Really. Humans and the way they insisted that she was a predator. She had said it once, and she would say it again. She saw herself as more of a symbiont. If you just played nice, you got one pretty amazing bodyguard. She got a meal. All was right in the world.

It was only when you didn't play nice that she would bother to kill you, and she was far more ruthless than most of her race.

Nanashi actually laughed a bit. It was a cold laugh, but without real menace. She was entertained by this power-suited human pointing a sword at her.

Really? Did this slow creature think it could really fight her? Rei now seemed steady enough to stand on his own, and so she let him go to advance towards Decade. "I am fairly certain he did not particularly desire to be let go. He came to me after all. It is not like I have been hunting crew members. I am fairly certain Stacy would not appreciate such an act."

She stopped and stood in front of Rei, her hands held out, inviting Decade to take a shot at her. Her smile was mocking, egging him on. She might have been keeping herself from making the first strike and looking bad, but that didn't mean she couldn't subtly taunt him. "You did not see Stacy stopping me, did you?"

Rei stood on his own feet for a moment after Nanashi had released him, but the blood loss quickly gave him a head rush and he shook slightly, sinking to a crouch, trying to hold himself together. Recently he'd been starting to question why anyone would want to donate blood, if that process left them feeling as shaky as he currently felt. What weird places the brain can go.

"Hey," he mumbled towards Nanashi, "hey. Don't go putting words in my mouth. I'm pretty much of the mind that you're a complete monster." Yes, he kept coming back. That didn't mean he particularly liked it. After all, junkies have been known to despise their poison.

He didn't take the advice of the guy in the weird suit, at least not yet. He could hardly walk on his own without collapsing, he was in no mood to run. Not to mention, he was very confused as to what was happening around him at the moment.

Little girl? As much of a complement as that struck her as, she hadn't been called that since she had woken up on the ship. Of course, he didn't mean it as a complement, but who was to stop her from taking it as such, even as he tried to attack her back.

She dodged nimbly, "Why, thank you, little one. It has been so long since I have gotten such a complement. However, I do not appreciate it when people strike at my back." She continued smiling, but she drew her own sword from her belt, making a light, high pitch ring echo between the buildings of the city.

Nanashi glanced at Rei, a little irritated at his rebuttal, "You still came to me." Her demeanour changed slightly to have a hint of maternity in her gaze, "It would be wise to run, Rei, explosion or no." She seemed genuinely concerned, though she has been known to be a fantastic actress when she wants to be.

With that she turned her focus back to Decade and smiled sweetly before running at him. She might not have been going full speed, but he would still have to react fairly quickly to catch her blade as she aimed an attack across his chest area.

"I don't take orders from you, bitey-woman!" Rei snapped at the vampire. Besides, his head was swimming. He found himself thinking about an alien city that he had never seen before, but felt familiar. It was just one of the many memories that weren't his that kept coming to him. He'd have to find someone to talk to about that.

He slowly got to his feet, more to just feel out if he could walk under his own power then to avoid the fight. He was hardly even paying attention to it, though he did hear one thing that got his interest. The bit the armored guy said about his vision. That sounded... well, an awful lot like one of Rei's own abilities. He made a mental note of asking about it, if for some reason he ever got the chance.

That seemed to help his mind register that he was witnessing a fight. I don't know who you are, but kick her ass, he thought as he stood there watching with vague interest, wobbling back and forth on his feet a bit.

Nanashi sprung back, avoiding the rider's foot, and shouted at Rei, "Would you eat something, please?" She just wanted him to cooperate and not pass out. Really, that would be a hassle to explain.

Every move before she could make them? Nanashi tried feinting with a down-stroke to the left, but instead brought her blade up from the right side of her body, using her speed to move so fast it would look like she was just appearing in one position or another to the natural human eye.

Rei's brow creased. What did that even mean? Was it something to do with the blood loss? He had no idea, have never lost this much blood before. Or ever seen a doctor about blood loss.

Whatever, she'd let him go, he was done with this. He didn't really care what happened to her, he just wanted to put some distance between the two of them for a while. A lot of distance. For a long while. He turned and began walking away from the fight.

Unfortunately, the sudden movement sent blood rushing to his head. His vision blurred, and he collapsed, catching himself on his elbows and knees. This... this was not good, he decided. He really did need to get to the medbay, like he'd promised the Doctor a few days ago. Why hadn't he gone then? He could remember his reasoning.

Nanashi blocked the sword strike, calling out "Rei!" She needed another seritavi before she wore this one to his death. That was the last thing she needed on her hands. At least if she killed this guy here, then she could say she was just defending herself. Part of her said that she should really get him help, but she wanted this power-suit guy out of the way.

Nanashi sheathed her sword, still watching Decade carefully. She kept her hand on the sheath of the sword, slowly circling Decade like the predator she is. As soon as he moved in to attack, she planned on drawing his sword right into him. She had a hard time believing that he really could read her moves before she could actually make him, but he was fast. Faster than a normal human had any right to ever be.

Nanashi skirted the blast. She hadn't been expecting it though, and was grazed on her arm. The skin took seconds to reform and she seemed unaffected by neither the injury nor the damage done to the building that had been behind her.

"That hu~urt," she mocked, sliding her long hair over one shoulder. She smiled cruelly, "I do not know what a Fangire is, sir, but I am afraid you are mistaken. I am a Vampire. Vam-pie-er. The Queen of Vampires. And am am far better than 'pretty good' pretty boy."

She sped behind him, rushing past him as she drew her sword directly into him, leaving a nice cut across his... armour? Just his armour? There were sparks flying, sure, but did it really not cut through his armour?

Nanashi curled back her lips, turning on her heel, and rushing back at him again, katana out. She sliced it across his chest, but she could feel that it didn't break through. Of course, the sword wasn't meant for heavy armour, but his armour didn't look that heavy...

Rei was not one to curse. He thought it was vulgar, and that breath was wasted on words that didn't have a positive point to them. But when the blast shot past Nanashi and into the building behind her, every curse he knew in Portuguese, English, and Spanish came tumbling from his lips. He probably would have signed some curses too, if his hands weren't preoccupied with keeping him from falling flat on his face. He needed to get out of here. He needed medical attention. He needed to be away from the buildings if the two fighters continued to miss each other and damage them.

The problem was, he was in no condition to be hauling himself all the way to medbay. Maybe he could get himself away from here, get on the comm device and --

Then he realized it. Stacy wasn't stopping anything. No tentacles were coming down from the ceiling and pulling the fighters apart. No warnings were being handed out, no sedative applied... something was wrong here. Very, very wrong.

Rei stayed still for a moment, not sure what to do. Then the Promethean Guild rule book started running through his head. The training he'd had, the procedures he'd helped form under various aliases. In the event of a metahuman battle in public space, follow these steps. He carefully got to his feet, shaking, but willing himself not to fall over. Evacuate all civilians in the area. Retreat to a safe distance yourself. Going was slow, but he forced himself to put on foot in front of the other and move. He couldn't walk in a straight line, and wound up leaned against a building. That was okay. He could use it as support. He moved along the wall, slipping into the space between buildings. He put a few buildings distance between him and the fight. Close enough to hear it, but far enough to be out of range.

Survey the fight. If you are able, get involved and break it up in a neutral manner. If you are not able to do so, call for appropriate back up. He fumbled in his pocket, pulling out his omnicom. He didn't want to try and type something with his hands shaking the way they were, so he dictated this message. (http://community.livejournal.com/trans_channel/227588.html)

If Nanashi had been paying attention to her omnicomm she would have informed Rei that he didn't need a transfusion, but food and rest. Really, she had more control than to take enough blood to make it an emergency. He would just be feeling weak for a while. He'd be fine by tomorrow.

But rather than paying attention to her omnicomm she was a bit busy trying to not get shot. She could survive the blast, but it would hurt. In these close quarters she barely had enough room to dodge, let alone to really fight properly. Not with three opponents at least. She laughed at Decade, mockingly cooing, "Really, is that the fastest you can go?" She turned and began to run at near-full speed out to the street, where it would be more open. She would just have to wait a second or so before running Decade through with her sword. That wasn't too long, right?

Nanashi slammed into the building in front of her, taking out a wall.

Now, that really hurt.

Some snapping and cracking could be heard from among the rubble as things fixed themselves. She wasn't entirely sure what that thing was, but it had a 'time out' He couldn't keep using it.

Nanashi growled and rose from the debris, abandoning her katana in favour of hand-to-hand combat. She used her full force to strike at the over-confident man in a weird suit, and just as he lifted off the ground, she kicked to send him flying into a building this time.

She was really angry now. It was no longer an amusing game. Now she wanted this guy dead. "You cur, who do you think you are?"

((OOC: One shot done with permission of both muns.))

If very little could stand against the kick, then the best place to be was behind the person doing the kick.

Nightwing dropped in behind Decade, escrima sticks at the ready. "Wow. I've been accused of some awful dialog, but you two take the cake."

The fight needed to be ended quickly, before somebody else ended up in the middle of it. Which meant quick, hard hits to knock each of the fighters out. Luckily, he had surprise on his side, letting him get them in before either could go after him as an interloper.

Which left him alone with two unconscious fighters. Nightwing looked at them, slightly surprised as Decade's armor disappeared. "Well. That's at least a hundred pounds I don't have to lug to the precinct."

Which was what he did. Slowly, sure, but he got them both to the precinct. At least by then, he wasn't alone when he needed to get them booked.

[OOC: Realized it would be a good idea to give Mindy/Shard a reference to where Rei is]

After he'd composed the message, Rei had sat down. No, more like slumped against a building and just collapsed. He felt tired, and he couldn't stop shivering, even though the ship was so warm. His heart was racing, and he'd been experiencing head rushes while he'd walked over here.

He could faintly hear the sounds of the battle, and then he thought they stopped, but really, at this point, he didn't really care about anyone but himself. Just staying focused was his main goal right now, and that itself was difficult.

Nanashi folded her arms, casting a dark look at the Kamen Rider.

"Honestly, what is it with you foreign humans?"

Of course she was talking about how they just hated the idea that she might be getting food.

"You could have seriously injured Rei. Not to mention you prevented me from taking proper care of him after the bite. So full of yourselves, unwilling to see things in ways aside from your own."

"First of all," Nanashi snapped, "I am a Vampire. I do not know what a Fangire is. Secondly, I never seek to kill those who are kind enough to share their blood, which leads me to my third point; he is the the one who has been coming to me. If I do ask him, he does not deny me. It, however, is always done with his permission. It is most kind of him to do such. I do not know or understand why this is, but it is."

"Of course I am disputing it! To 'attempt murder' you must have intent to kill, and that is something I completely lack. In my world, killing a human is a crime. It is a crime because I made it to be such. If I did not see it as a terrible thing, would I have made it against our law?"

Rather than just being held near each other Nanashi rather wished she had a way to get at the fool and smack some sense into him.

Re: The F Afterglow / Who's the Hero

[identity profile] sanguineroyal.livejournal.com 2010-09-10 05:53 pm (UTC)(link)
Nanashi settled for smacking herself gently on the forehead, holding her hand there for a few moments with a groan. She had no qualms about being called a monster herself. She had done more than her fair share of horrendous acts, but to call her whole race monsters?

Sure, the nobility were always vying for a way to steal the throne, but the commoners, they were nothing so cruel. Their concerns were of making sure there was enough food being grown for the humans, of making sure their crafts would sell. They were most definitely different from the citizens of the neighbouring country, but they were no monsters.

She had no guilty concience. Chiharu and Kano both jumped on that thought to remind her of their presence, but she ignored them. They were both Vampires, and this was about killing humans.

Her mass murdering had been to purge the ugly from both of the races. It sounded terrible, but it would be best for her country in the long run, she believed. Of course, she had also been known to loose her temper and cause death, but then it was their fault for not being more careful, having known this. Of course, she couldn't deny that wicked streak that enjoyed watching people suffer, and had led to a wide use of the dungeons.

But that was not a common enjoyment among her people. Of course, she could not use all of these as proof, as they would more than likely just hurt her case with this man, as well as ruin the whole 'virtuous Queen' act she had been trying to keep up.

"We are not monsters for reasons far beyond that. We develop attachments, especially to those we feed on, far deeper than you could understand. Even if Rei hates me, I will care about him, and be concerned for him. In my world, many young vampires ended up turning and marrying their first donors, as the act of taking someone's blood is such an intimate one.

"On this ship, there is no human who thinks in such ways. The culture gap is too wide. If this human will keep returning to me despite his professed hatred, then I will accept his gifts, until I meet another who is completely willing, who is not a child."

Re: The F Afterglow / Who's the Hero

[identity profile] sanguineroyal.livejournal.com 2010-09-11 04:11 am (UTC)(link)
Nanashi let out an exasperated sigh. "We do not brainwash anyone! You just refuse to listen to reason!"

She sprung from her cot and began pacing her room at her natural speed. It was usually Kano who got her into such a rage. "Honestly! Does Rei really seem like someone brainwashed? Do you think if I was someone who could brainwash him, that I would do it in such a way where he acted so hostile? No!

"Brainwashing is as morally despicable in my world as it is yours. In fact, we do share quite a few morals! We are freer sexually, but without the fear of unwanted pregnancy or disease, does that come as a surprise? We have the same respect for life, perhaps even moreso, since a Vampire's soul does not continue to exist after death. We do not seek to harm, and when we feed from a human it is required to not only heal the puncture wounds, but to make sure that they are fed and cared for. We make sure that they do not have want of anything. Of course, they are also given at least a week's rest! I cannot understand what makes the people on this ship, even many humans from outside our culture, so judgemental."

Re: The F Afterglow / Who's the Hero

[identity profile] sanguineroyal.livejournal.com 2010-09-11 06:13 am (UTC)(link)
This guy?

Kano snickering in her ear wasn't helping her mood at all either.

She let out a growl, her irritation allowing a second layer of voice to growl as well so that it sounded as if to voices was coming from her at once. Before she had the time to calm herself, she punched the wall, causing the stone to crumble, but the forcefield kept her fist from going all the way through.

"I do not expect immediate understanding or any sort of worshiping! I expect some basic courtesy! Clearly this is beyond many of the passengers of this ship!

"Anyone who is not a human is judged and feared! Of course each world will work differently, but I have done nothing but strived to understand the workings of each of the home-worlds of the people I have met! So far all you have done is pass judgement on me!"

Her voice was rising slowly, the secondary layer to her voice fading in and out of use. Her pretty mask was on the verge of snapping away completely. She was trying to keep that from happening. She was trying to make the case that her race was not a race of monsters. It was rather hard, seeing that she was.

"Pets? Ha! I have not asked you to put my needs before yours, have I? I have not requested it of any on the ship. Take for instance, Katara, or Edward Elric. I am training the both of them in sword fighting because I like them. Edward, as a friend, has been teaching me Alchemy. These are what we call friends." She sighed deeply. Do not let him get to you.

"Do no let him tell you the truth. How like you."
