GLADOS up to her tricks again [So, so open]

There were four people grumbling with various levels of irritation.

Kate frowned, as she made a beeline to the Sensoriums. "I swear, how many of these stupid experiments does she have to run?"

Dean was scowling as well, and already checking his Omnicomm to get updates.

"Sammy? Cas? Kaylee? Dammit, where the hell is everybody?"

Nathan just shook his head, and flew to his office to check with Sasami and his messages.

Peter meanwhile just stopped and rubbed his eyes, "What the heck was that? And where's the cake already?"

(ooc: Somebody want to bring the poor mun and her people up to speed please?)

Cassie was in the area of the Sensoriums herself. She was trying to train her Kythian mole grub, Pinky, and it worked better if Stacy was providing the treats rather than using her own food stores- or the slop. Then she heard someone walk by, when she poked her head out she saw her friend.

"Hey!"

Yeah, totally clueless as to anything going on here. At least for now.

Kate looked ready for some hard training for stress relief, and she whirled angrily toward Cassie.

Her face then calmed a little, "Oh hey."

"Just a sec." Cassie ducked back into the Sensoriums. "Come here, Pinky." Of course Pinky didn't come when she called but that's what they were working on. He did at least hold still and let her pick him up, wriggling a little in her arms as she walked back to Kate. "GLaDoS got you too, huh?"

Kate grimly nodded, "Yeah, again."

She then tilted her head, "Uh... ok?"

Cassie tilted her head back at her. "O.K.? Me or are you asking about something else?"

She pointed to the odd looking pink slug creature. Kate was still understandably wary around anything slug like.

"Asking about that."

It didn't look like a slug! O.K., well, maybe a little. But a cute slug!

"This is Pinky. You know, like from Pinky and the Brain. Only we don't have a Brain. Isn't he adorab-" Then she realized her friend was still giving it that look. "Well, I think he's adorable." She stroked its chin and it started cooing pleasantly.

"I guess," she nervously replied.

"It's not gonna hurt you. I even looked up what information Stacy has on it. It's just a harmless little herbivore from hydroponics. Apparently they make good pets and, well, this little guy seemed to like me." She held him out. "Do you want to hold him? Or at least pet him."

Look, he's making a cute little face at you too.

Kate shook her head, and it took everything in her not to take a step backward.

"Uh, no, I'm good, thanks."

Well, this was turning into a disaster. Cassie held Pinky close against her. "Uhm... is this going to be a problem? If he stays in the room with us..." She didn't want to make her friend uncomfortable but...

She was kind of in love with the thing.

"No, no," And granted it was kind of cute in a weird way. It looked a little too much like.... "It's nothing. Just some bad memories that's all. I'll be fine."

"Oh." Cassie didn't really understand what bad memories it'd bring up- maybe because she didn't really see it as a slug-like type creature. "Are you sure? I mean, I don't want to make you uncomfortable..."

"No, it's fine. I mean the Yeerk thing was a while ago. And uh Pinky's big enough to probably eat one of those things for breakfast if it wanted to."

"Wait- he- he reminds you of a Yeerk?" Cassie took a second look at her newest friend.

...Well, maybe if you closed one eye and squinted... ~~Shut up! She was in love!~~

"A little? Mostly in the shape."

She sighed, "I know, it's stupid right?"

That explained it. "No! No, it's not stupid. I'd be the last one to say that. The mind can make funny associations between things. I can find him a place to stay if you need to get used to him."

"No, you don't have to do that. Uh maybe I'll go crash with Tony for a few days? I want to catch up with him anyway."

"Uh, if you want? I could always just go bother Nate. I don't think he'd mind. We need to do our own catching up." Again. ~~Repeatedly.~~ Ahem.

"Yeah, he's probably worried. I should go check up on him." Plus she was worried about their last conversation together. He didn't think they would survive the Ohm.

"Alright. Go talk to him. We can talk more later. It's good to have you back."

Kate smiled at her friend, "Good to be back. I'll be in touch, ok? You need something, let me know."

Speaking of Sasami, she was busy trying to keep things organized in Nathan's odd absence. It seemed odd that he'd be gone for this long, though. Something must have happened...

...which is why she's a bit surprised to finally see him. "Mr. Petrelli!"

Yeah, something happened by way of an annoying AI.

He had landed and strode toward her, "Ah, Sasami. That GLADOS program had me waylaid for a while. Was just looking for you for an update on things around here."

"GLaDOS got you, too?" Sasami said, a combination of disappointment and annoyance on her face. "Mmmn..."

She sighed and shook her head. One thing at a time... "What exactly do you need to know? I don't want to hit things you might have known..." Nothing bad, she just doesn't want to go over something you already knew.

"Yeah, and not the first time it's happened either." Stupid program.

"I remember the elections, the recent podpop, and things getting back to normal after that. Not much else shortly after I brought you on board, and met with some of the new people."

"Okay, that does simplify things." Sasami said, nodding. "It's been pretty much quiet, really. Councilman Kang and Ronon did another round of training, and... I believe we've finally have some sort of chain of command if I'm not mistaken..."

A bit of it was going over her head. She blinked and remembered something else. "Oh! I've been asked to join the Outsiders by one of their new members. I have an idea, but I'm gonna have to talk to a... Nightwing... about it."

Nathan nodded at that. Quiet's a good sign. He'd want to confer with Captain Leon on further updates, but not bad so far.

"Good. And ah, that group's been active for some time. I understand a lot of the young uh superheroes have joined them. I know him, he's done a lot of good work on board."

Sasami nodded at that. "That's good to know. I just hope he wouldn't mind the idea I had. I was hoping that, if I join in, I could also be sort of a connection between Command and the Outsiders. Granted, I don't want to take Mr. Nightwing's place. I just want to help."

"I would say to check with him on that matter. Otherwise he should remain as that connection."

"Of course." Sasami said, nodding. "Is there anything else you need to know?"

"Well was about to check my messages unless you have any for me?"
