Explorin and such [OTA]

So the first couple of days on the ship? Were more than a little ruttin weird. The sleeping arrangements were just to creepy to even try to sleep much at all and the food tasted to much like the protein he had been eating for months on Serenity. As much as Mal tried to find something to go like he would have done on his own boat he seemed to fail at it either finding the areas restricted in access or just not there. Scrubbing fingers back through his hair he signed and continued his path about one of the busier junctions of the ship.

The Obs deck was where he finally settled at looking up at what was supposed to be the Black but was much more. Oh there had been many times on his ship after Miranda he had sat in the pilot's seat just watching as nothing passed by.. even if this wasn't the same it sort of felt that way. So there he sat, head craned upward slightly staring at space as it flew by. Yep. Totally bothersome as well.

Brenda was totally going to do something evil to him later, but it was SO worth it.

Chuckling, Brenda. Chuckling. He was a guy and thus did not giggle.

"Nice to meet you too, Captain," he said, still grinning.

By the expression that crosses Mal's face he clearly is slightly confused. He even goes as far to poke himself a few times just to confirm that he is real and this has to be real. River would probably understand it the most but, sadly, she wasn't here.

"Gāoyáng zhōng de gūyáng." Raising a hand he ran fingers back through his hair laughing lightly. "So.. in your world I ain't real?"

"You're... fictional in our universe yeah." Brenda feels kind of lousy telling him that. "About half the crew is fictional to other people on board though so don't feel bad about it. It's less about you being imaginary and more about us flipping out that you're real."

She fidgets. "Sorry about the squealing there I just.... blindsided and... you're even hotter in person big fan and all that."

"You'd also be about five-hundred years in our future anyway," Paco added. "But we've got aliens back in our universe, so we're probably fictional to you too. Are you familiar with a guy called Superman? Blue tights, red cape, wears a big 'S' on his chest?"

He'd noticed that a lot of people seemed to have Superman comic books or TV shows or movies in their universes. They had all those two, but they also had the real thing on top of it.

Well that was understandable.

Shrugging a little the captain let the tension between his shoulders relax some. With his right hand raised he tipped an invisible hat to Brenda, smiling wide. "No problem, miss. No harm was done I assure you." Except giving Mal a larger ego. Wait till Inara heard about this!

Glancing toward Paco, one brow started to raise slightly. "Ah.. no? Must be an old Earth-that-was sorta thing." At least he thought it might have been. Out on the Border there wasn't much need for comics.

Outside, Brenda smiled politely.

Inside, she went 'jslkdfjfffft invisible hat tipping oh god!'

"Yeaaaah, definetely an 'earth that was' thing." She shook her head at Mal. "Nevermind about it. Actually, nevermind about 90% of stuff Paco says to you."

Paco just grinned. He knew Brenda was flailing internally, and he was never going to let her live it down. And he was going to tell Jaime, who would also never let her live it down.

"The other ten percent of stuff is totally awesome though, so you have to listen to everything I say," Paco countered playfully.
