Spreading Your Wings Again [Open]

How long had it been since Zokez II? A month? A month and a half? It didn't matter to Vivio - it was a bit too long for her. And despite her injuries (which were mostly healed), staying on the ground for this long was starting to take its toll on her. She needed to get back into shape big time.

Heading into one of the Sensoriums, Vivio brought up one of the various scenarios the other TSAB mages use: an abandoned city block. She let out a sigh as she looked up at Sacred Heart, the plushie device worried that she was doing this too soon.

"It's okay, Kris." Vivio said. "I'm fine now. Still a bit sore, but it's best that I work it out now...!" Sacred Heart nodded slightly. "Alright... let's get to work. SACRED HEART! SET UP!"

A burst of rainbow energy followed suit and Vivio transformed into her Barrier Jacketed adult self, taking off into the sky. A few moments later, a set of drones would start chasing her, following the same tackle and skewer pattern the Shrikes followed in their attack.

She would not let that happen again.

Alessa had been curious as to what had happened with Vivio: she hadn't seen the girl since the skirmish with the Ohm, and now that she was settled on the ship, she wanted a chance to check on the very few smatterings of humans that she actually cared. She was sure that Nanoha, a constant asset to the ship, was fine, so she searched for Nanoha's daughter, and sensed her in the Sensoriums.

She would look different now: the aging of her body as well as acquiring a new set of clothing (http://sinema.nkfu.com/unluler/jodelle-ferland/jodelle-ferland-resimleri-3.jpg) had done much to give her a different appearance. She watched Vivio done her fighting gear and see the drones she set upon herself, following a pattern that reminded her very much of some of the Ohm she'd seen. She avoided the drones easily, having already recognized the pattern: she wasn't going to go around fighting things right now.

She wanted to watch Vivio first.

For the moment, Vivio didn't notice Alessa's appearance. She was too busy trying to dodge the drones as they attacked, launching orbs of magical energy when she found an opening. There was a bit of a noticeable slowness in Vivio's actions - her downtime caused her to be a bit sluggish as a result.

A few minutes later, Vivio would finally take down the drones and had begun waiting for another round before noticing Alessa finally. Her heterochroma eyes blinked as she saw the girl. "Oh...! Hello!" she said, trying to recognize the newcomer.

Alessa waited, watching. She'd seen Vivio in action before: she was usually faster than this, but she was sure that the other girl was fully aware she was a bit more sluggish than she had been in the past: fighters such as Vivio shouldn't need to be told their flaws because it was likely they already knew them.

She was a little amused that Vivio was trying to remember who she was: it was a look of confusion in some people's faces when they saw her older form, saw a familiarity that they knew they should know but didn't.

"Hello Vivio," she said. "It's Alessa."

"Alessa?!" Vivio said, surprised. "You're... older. When did this happen?!" she asked, lowering herself near the demon. It was surprising to see someone she knew change this visibly. Sure, it shouldn't of been with Alessa, but it still had that effect.

"I just decided to do it," Alessa said. "I felt like making a change. My demon self still looks the same, but I wanted my human body to have a bit of an upgrade."

She stretched. "So where have you been? I haven't seen you in awhile."

"Well, then, I think it works out just fine!" Vivio said. "But, it's not about looks, it's how you function, right?" She knew a thing or two about that - it's why she took her adult form when she transformed.

"I decided to keep a low profile while I healed, so I was just busy working in the Media Library. Then GLaDOS took me and a few others..."

"That was another reason," Alessa said. "I find that I'm a bit stronger in my older guise than I am in my younger, while my demon strength is still maintained. It was more of a decision of necessity, not vanity." She knew Vivio would understand that more than anyone.

She nodded. "I healed much quicker than in my last encounter as well. The battle with the Ohm turned out to be in my favor. With thew Nightmare King and his guises, I had more to worry about. In this battle, I could concentrate on my enemy."

Vivio nodded hearing Alessa's reasoning. "I understand that completely." Part of her wanted to motion to her still-adult body, but opted not to.

"I'm glad you got out of that okay... I wasn't as fortunate. One of them got me good. That's why I'm in here now - I've been out of it for so long I need to rebuild what I've lost due to my recovery."

"I can understand that," Alessa said. "At this point in time, the Ohm are the only true enemy I have. If I were to perish fighting them prematurely, I would be disgusted with myself. I can see that you have a desire to fight them as well."

A few of the drones got fairly close to Alessa...and then exploded immediately as they came near Alessa's sphere of influence. Despite that the girl winced as of she'd been injured.

Vivio was about to answer Alessa's comment before she noticed the drones getting near and the demon girl striking them down. She gasped a bit, noticing her wince.

"Alessa! Are you okay?!" she asked.

"Of course," Alessa said calmly, although she did stare at her arm a little. "It just takes more strength to kill things when you're doing it with presence alone. That was why they were destroyed before they even touched me. It's effective, but it takes strength, and the Ohm are a stronger enemy then most that I use it for. I usually have demons to help soften them up."

She sighed. "And I'm still getting used to the way this body responds."

"Don't push yourself, Alessa." Vivio said. "It takes time to get use to what you have! You can't expect to get everything right the first time!"

She had gone into a bit of a training spiel, hoping that Alessa would understand. She knew how a jump in age and body would affect someone.

Alessa stared at Vivio a moment. "Pushing myself is the way to get stronger," she said. "I can heal myself too. Simulations like this are not going to tax me enough to the point of true injury. That only happens in the actual fight with an unpredictable enemy. Why are you so concerned about my well being?"

Yes, despite how perceptive she was, Alessa was still pretty amazed when anyone that was close to human showed her any kind of sympathy.

Hikari wasn't surprised to see Vivio up and about again. In fact, she figured she'd see if Vivio wanted her and Tailmon for a training session, but when she saw what she was doing Hikari figured that she should wait a bit and let Vivio finish it up.

They could always spar while Hikari practiced her new powers later.

After a few minutes of practice, she noticed Hikari nearby. A smile formed on her face as she stopped the training and flew down by the Chosen Child, reverting to her original self.

"Hikari-chan! Hi!" Vivio said. "You look like you're doing much better!"

Hikari smiled. "Thanks Vivio. You're looking better also."

"A little sore, but it's a whole lot better than how I was awhile back." Vivio said, giggling. "So, what brings you here?"

"I figured I'd get some training in... I.. well, got some new powers recently..." Hikari said, trailing off a bit.

"New powers?" Vivio echoed, a bit confused. "But, how did...?"

She trailed off as her eyes went wide. "Y-You didn't...!"

Hikari nodded. "Yep. What's wrong, you seem upset..."

Vivio looked around nervously, then held up the Pactio card she gotten from her little incident with Negi. "...so did I. And... it really was by accident..."

Hikari laughed at that. "I see. By accident, huh? So, have you tried using them yet?"

"I've tested it out when I first got it, but I haven't really gotten to see what I can do with it." Vivio admitted. "It... would probably be a good time as any to try it out, right?"

Hikari smiled. "Yeah, it would. I've been... well, practicing pretty much non-stop since I got them a couple of weeks ago..."

She shook her head, and looked around. "Hey, Tailmon? Where'd you go?"

Practicing non-stop? Uh-oh... Vivio hoped that was just her joking. She wasn't sure what Hikari could do or if she really was training non-stop. Though, when the girl began looking for her companion, she couldn't help but blink and look around.

"...Tailmon was with you? Then where...?" she said, looking around herself.
