Sitting Around, Talking About Doing Stuff [OPEN]
And this was the part of the job that Leon knew would eventually grate on him. Meetings. They were necessary, and usually productive, but they were not his thing. Still, it was part of the job now, so as per his post on the comms, he made himself available at the Precinct. His old office belonged to Samus now, so for the time being he made himself comfortable in the fifth floor conference room.

Congrats, Nanoha, you're making progress.
"Come on in."

"Have a seat," he offered.

But down to business. Only where to start? Well, start simple.
"So how have things been over at the Mystical Department lately?"

She tilted her head to the side, looking a bit sheepish. "I wish I had more to report, but it's business as usual, really. They say no news is good news, though."

That bit about the Ohm was an important detail, but he'd come back to that in a moment. Right now, his priority was to get this ship in order.
"Before, back during the Nightmare King, you had your department offer lessons in basic psychic and magic defense and so on. I want to fold that in to the Basic Training program. Something of a Magic 101 for the crew."
no subject
"I can take a stab at it, but I don't really have much training like that. So if you want to search for someone more, er, qualified, I really wouldn't be offended."

"You don't have to teach it yourself, you can assign whatever people you feel is best, though you will be responsible for putting together the course outline." She would know her staff better than he would, after all. And he was certainly no expert on either magic or psychics.
"The way I want Basic Training to work is for each department to be responsible for overseeing one course, obviously 'Magic 101' or 'Mysticism 101' would be yours. Depending on how many people sign up, we can split everyone into smaller groups, spread them out to different courses, and have them rotate around. The smaller groups should make teaching easier, shouldn't chew up too many resources from your department, and allows any future crew members to jump in at the start of each new rotation," he further explained.

Nanoha frowned slightly in concentration as she took in what Leon was telling her (automatically starting to put together a curriculum in her mind as he spoke). "That sounds smart to me," she agreed once he was finished. "Since magic often varies so severely from world to world, I'll put together some ways to try to test for magical aptitude - but barring that, I'll focus on how to teach people to deal with magic if they run into it. Sound like a plan?"

"Now, speaking of psychologists, there's something else that your department may be uniquely suited to provide." He paused for a moment, as if trying to find the correct way to phrase it. "Let's call it... Individual Spiritual Counseling.
"It's no secret that this crew is a wreck. Aang's mediated talks can help people resolve issues with each other, but virtually member of this crew is damaged in one way or another by themselves. They should at least have a place where they can get some kind of help for themselves."

"In all seriousness, I don't know how comfortable I'd be with amateurs trying to be psychiatrists, but if you meant on a more spiritual level - like, I don't know, making sure their 'aura' is in order - I'm sure I could find someone who has experience in that field. Was that more what you had in mind?"

"I don't expect you to be therapists. But, from what I've seen so far, most mystical stuff is wrapped up in a rather rich religion or mythology, which usually has some kind of wisdom to offer-- ways to keep the soul in balance, I suppose-- even if you can't throw fire from your hands."
