Just Missing a Little Something [OPEN]

Finding her barn and being able to stay at her house were things Cassie didn't think would happen again until after they were done with the yeerk invasion. Arriving here only made her think that she would have to wait longer or never even see them again. It certainly warmed her to find them here, but at the same time it seemed to emphasize what must have happened on her world.

Some nights she would find herself in her barn again. Her memories before anything happened washed over her as she closed her eyes. When she opened her eyes and didn't see the usual sleeping animals or alert eyes of the nocturnal animals, she felt an emptiness.

So today she decided to wander the hydroponics. Looking at the variety of animals and vaguely wondering if she would be able to help out here. There were some animals she had never seen before, but she still felt the same connection to them.

"I'm uh, Chris. I haven't seen you around before. Are you one of the new arrivals?" Chris gave a slight wave as he was always nervous with people he hadn't met before.

"Yeah, I just got here with the last group. I'm Cassie." She kept smiling at him. She could tell he was a little nervous so she hoped that would make him feel a little better.
