[Open] [Location: The City]
Beastboy was not the most goal oriented individual.
After weeks and weeks on the ship (Almost spending a solid week messing around with the sensoriums and the time he'd lost chasing after fictional cake, he had only now gotten around to exploring the city.
And so he was making an expedition of it. Any area that caught his attention would be seen to (even if the area didn't look particularly friendly) as his various animal forms helped him run, bounce, crawl and soar around.
Another fine excuse to meet people or hang out with those he'd already met...maybe they could tell him about some of the places he was seeing for the first time.

"Um, hi, boy," he said, hoping the dog was male. "What are you doing here? I thought that Daimon guy was keeping all the puppies until they got owners."

When Rei's brain began working again after the initial surprise, he cleared his throat, and, trying to be dignified, said, "Daimon is... um. I'm not all that sure, really. I've only spoken to him a few times. Kinda big guy, blonde, kind of intimidating? Currently running around with space puppies."

Rei was relieved that the little green guy hadn't said anything about his mini-freak out. His dignity was still a bit tarnished, but if the shape shifter wasn't going to make a big deal out of it, he wasn't, either.
"It's a she," Rei said - he mostly brought it up because he'd actually had to look up how to tell the sex of a dog, which was both informative and a bit awkward. "And yeah, she's a space dog. I think. Probably not related to a dog at all, but I don't know what exact she is, so that's as good a phrase as any."

And no, he doesn't bother introducing himself in return. It's a bad habit that he really needs to work on.

"I seriously need to get a leash for you..." he said, picking up the small dog and setting it down on the bench.

"Time travel only really messes things up when people who don't know what they're doing do it," he said. He did really hide the judgmental tone in his voice. "And yes, it is complicated. Which is why it shouldn't be used by just anyone."

And of course, once again, Rei had to go and get all judge-y and upset someone. Clearly he hadn't learned his lesson from Jamie. "Uh... sorry," he said, clearing his throat. "I'm not used to other people being able to time travel. I was kind of one of the only few that could do that in my world."

Of course, metahumans had only been known in his world since the 1930s, and as a time traveler, he'd been able to see and experience the times before that. But still, he'd grown up in the 70s, so he was used to them.

That may have sounded more like bragging.
