[Open] [Location: The City]

Beastboy was not the most goal oriented individual.

After weeks and weeks on the ship (Almost spending a solid week messing around with the sensoriums and the time he'd lost chasing after fictional cake, he had only now gotten around to exploring the city.

And so he was making an expedition of it. Any area that caught his attention would be seen to (even if the area didn't look particularly friendly) as his various animal forms helped him run, bounce, crawl and soar around.

Another fine excuse to meet people or hang out with those he'd already met...maybe they could tell him about some of the places he was seeing for the first time.

Rei looked up and noticed the green dog. It looked quite a bit more Earthly then the other puppies had, but it was still green. And something about a green dog just screamed 'alien' in his nerd-brain.

"Um, hi, boy," he said, hoping the dog was male. "What are you doing here? I thought that Daimon guy was keeping all the puppies until they got owners."

"GAH!" Rei shouted (more of a squeal, really), jumping in his seat slightly. A green dog that turned into a green teenager. That was new. Well, the green teenager, not so much, he'd seen metahumans and some aliens of rather odd colors, but the shape shifting was still new, and caught him off-guard.

When Rei's brain began working again after the initial surprise, he cleared his throat, and, trying to be dignified, said, "Daimon is... um. I'm not all that sure, really. I've only spoken to him a few times. Kinda big guy, blonde, kind of intimidating? Currently running around with space puppies."

The space-dog sniffed Beastboy's hand, then happily licked it. It didn't have a tail, but the little antenna on the top of its head moved up and down, almost like a wagging tail.

Rei was relieved that the little green guy hadn't said anything about his mini-freak out. His dignity was still a bit tarnished, but if the shape shifter wasn't going to make a big deal out of it, he wasn't, either.

"It's a she," Rei said - he mostly brought it up because he'd actually had to look up how to tell the sex of a dog, which was both informative and a bit awkward. "And yeah, she's a space dog. I think. Probably not related to a dog at all, but I don't know what exact she is, so that's as good a phrase as any."

Beastboy, enjoy an incredulous look from Rei. "Your name... is Beastboy. Did your parents hate you...?"

And no, he doesn't bother introducing himself in return. It's a bad habit that he really needs to work on.

"Ooooh," Rei said, his expression brightening up. Though, it was probably for the best that Beastboy didn't tell him his real name, or it would have brought on an onslaught of jokes about a certain comic strip cat. "That would make sense. I'm just not used to superheroes using their code names around me. I've actually got a superhero name myself, but I never use it because the FBI gave me a lame -- hey!" He cut himself off to jump up and grab the dog, which had been trying to wander off.

"I seriously need to get a leash for you..." he said, picking up the small dog and setting it down on the bench.

"What? No, I was a superhero." He says it like it's the most normal thing in the world, for supeheroes to work for the FBI. Which, in his world, it is. "Or, I am a superhero. Will be. It gets kind of confusing, all the time travel."

Rei scowled a bit. What was it with people on this ship and experiencing time travel? here there just no Guardians in their universes? Did the Guardians in their universes just really suck at their jobs?

"Time travel only really messes things up when people who don't know what they're doing do it," he said. He did really hide the judgmental tone in his voice. "And yes, it is complicated. Which is why it shouldn't be used by just anyone."

Was this guy really a superhero? Most supers Rei had met, even the nice ones, were a lot more abrasive then this guy.

And of course, once again, Rei had to go and get all judge-y and upset someone. Clearly he hadn't learned his lesson from Jamie. "Uh... sorry," he said, clearing his throat. "I'm not used to other people being able to time travel. I was kind of one of the only few that could do that in my world."

"What? Don't have superheroes? That's so totally boring! What kind of lame worlds wouldn't have freaking superheroes?"

Of course, metahumans had only been known in his world since the 1930s, and as a time traveler, he'd been able to see and experience the times before that. But still, he'd grown up in the 70s, so he was used to them.
