Training [Bendytimed a week later - Open]

Negi peeled the last of his bandages away as he stood in the park area surrounding the city center. "Looks like I'm all healed up Chamo-kun," said Negi as he started to stretch.

"Yeah, you really took it to yourself this time aniki," said Chamo as he finished marking out a circle on the ground, one that had Negi blinking.

"What's that for?" inquired Negi. "I'm not kissing anyone today."

"Insurance aniki! What if a beautiful girl comes along and you just have to kiss her?" Chamo grinned lecherously as Negi facepalmed. "Besides, every time you step out of that bus, you have a good chance of making an artifact."

"I know I know." said Negi as he pulled out his own card. "Adeat!"

In a flash of light, his card case appeared as he pulled out the roster of cards and flipped through them. "I'm going to familiarize myself with these things," said Negi. "Last time I didn't rely on them as much. This time I want to be ready."

Spinning a card around, he slotted it into the top and proclaimed, "Ruyi Jingu Bang!" Spinning the case around it lengthened into a wooden bow with two metal caps on either end. Testing the weight, he began to start a slow kung fu kata, incorporating spear fighting into the motions. So caught up in his workout, he wouldn't notice anyone else coming in to see him.

"EXTEND!" And the pole extended out, striking a tree. "Now grow!" And said tree got smushed. "Whoops."

Hikari giggled, Nyaromon held in her hands as she watched Negi train. "Overexcited much?" Nyaromon asked from her place in Hikari's arms.

"Nyaromon... be nice," Hikari said, looking up at Negi again. "Sorry about her, i think she's a little bit cranky that I picked her up to come out here."

"I would be too, if i was reduced to a talking head," said Chamo smartly.

Negi bonked him on the head with the staff. "Be nice," he warned. Then, turning to Hikari he grinned widely. "It's fine, we're trying to stretch out some of the kinks too. Have you figured out what your artifact does by the way?"

Hikari shook her head and smiled. "No, I didn't. I wanted to try it out with you nearby, just in case anything went wrong. Also, wanted to have both arms first..."

"Ah good plan. In case it turns out to be a giant sword or something," said Negi, leaning on the staff. "When you're ready, say Adeat to summon the artifact in."

Hikari smiled, before placing Nyaromon down on the ground so she could focus. "Alright, I'm ready," she said, taking a deep breath.

Nyaromon took that moment to bounce a bit away from Hikari, turning to look over at her partner.

Hikari smiled. "Adeat!" she shouted, and then there was a giant burst of light from within her along with a gust of wind, and when it cleared Hikari was standing where she was. The young girl was dressed in a sleeveless purple shirt and purple shorts, along with two long detached sleeves on her arms that went up to her shoulders. To finish her new found magical outfit, where a pair of white, shining boots, and two small angel wings coming out of her back.

She grinned. "How do I look?" she asked, looking down at herself in awe.

"Great!" Nyaromon said. "It's almost like you evolved."

Hikari blinked. "I don't think it's that different..."

Negi had to admit, that was one of the nicest outfits that he had ever seen and he flashed a thumbs up. "That was great Hikari-chan! I like it a lot!"

"Two thumbs up on the wings girl," added Chamo. "How do you feel? Anything coming to you?"

"Oh right. One sec." Flipping his artifact around he returned it to the billfold, he slid another card in. "Compendium!"

In a flash of light, Yue's book appeared as he accessed the remains of Mahou.net. "Alright, here we go." And the book spat out a small sheath of papers. "This is your instruction manual."

Hikari blinked, moving over to Negi as she smiled.

And then found herself hovering over to him without thinking about it, her feet hovering a few inches over the ground. "Oh wow, I guess there's that," she said, taking the papers from Negi.

"The wings definitely look a part of it," said Chamo as he glanced the girl over, checking her over with an appraising eye. "Looks like it's tied into the magic flowing around your body, from the wings to two spots on your wrists."

"That accurate?" inquired Negi as he read over the instruction manual. It was nice to see that there was an actual instruction manual for some of those items.

Hikari blinked, looking down at her wrists... and seeing the sleeve move up a bit, revealing two jeweled bracelets on her wrists. "Oh, here they are. So far it looks like it..."

"It's interesting though how a lot of artifacts lately are magic based," mused Chamo as Negi flipped through the rather extensive notes on her artifact. "Sasami got a magical attacker artifact, Katara-anesan got a healing cup. And now you've got those bracelets."

"One is for attack, one is for defense. And seems like the wings give a buff," read off Negi of the notes. "It's definitely not as complex as some of my own artifacts, but it makes up for drawing and amplifying your own powers."

Hikari nodded, looking at the bracelets again. "One for attack, another for defense... and the wings for buffing? That's like, giving some energy to make someone else stronger, right?"

"Yeah, and at the same time I'm giving you energy," said Negi. "Did you get an idea of how to use it?"

He was always interested to find out what others could do with the new items.

Hikari smiled a bit. "Hmm, maybe a little," she said as she flew up higher in the air and flapped her angel wings a bit while concentrating on Nyaromon.

There was a bright light, and suddenly light was leaping off of her and onto the small baby digimon.

And then Nyaromon seemed to explode in a burst of light. "Nyaromon Evolve!"

And then, the light faded, and there was Tailmon, blinking. "I... straight to adult?"

"Looks like we've got a buffer," said Chamo, leaping to Negi's shoulder. "In the way that it's complimented to your existing powers."

"Most pactio cards do that," said Negi with a nod.

Hikari grinned. "Oh, I see."

Tailmon smiled. "So, what's the one for attack for?"

Hikari blinked at that, looking down at it. "Hmm... I'm not sure... I think..."

And she pointed a hand at a nearby tree... and a pink beam of light shot out of it and the tree exploded.

Hikari and Tailmon both stared.

"It's over 9000!" cackled Chamo, hitting the floor in laughter.

"Why does everything around me have pink beams?" wondered Negi, thinking of a certain parallel between the winged Hikari and Nanoha... who was probably looking for him right now.

Hikari and Tailmon both laughed at that. "I don't know. I guess I just do?"

Negi laughed at that and nodded. "Well, at least we're getting to figure out how it works now, right?"

"We'll have to fix the tree," said Chamo as an afterthought.

Hikari giggled, looking over at Negi. "Yeah, that's true. So... I wonder how the other one works," she said, moving her other arm and looking over at the jeweled bracelet she had on.

Negi felt a buildup of magic and almost staggered. Just how much magical power did everyone HAVE here?

Chamo whistled. "Dyaaaa-aaammmmn!"

Hikari blinked. "Negi, what's..."

And then a giant pink glowing barrier appeared around Hikari for several seconds.

Tailmon smiled and laughed a bit. "Oh wow, look, more pink."

Hikari laughed. "Okay, so how do I turn it off?"

"It's a mental effort. Just concentrate on turning it off," said Negi, looking through the notes.

Hikari smiled and nodded, and soon enough the barrier was gone. "Wow, that's... it covers pretty much everything, doesn't it."

"Depends," Tailmon said. "How hard can you hit something with a punch?" she said, walking over to her.

Hikari blinked, then grinned.

And soon enough... a weak punch was hitting on top of Tailmon's head.

Tailmon frowned. "That... you weren't even trying."

Hikari smiled. "It's not like I can really punch you all that well from up here."

"Aniki's good at hand to hand, so we can definitely teaching you how to throw a punch too," said Chamo as he perched on Negi's shoulder.

"I may as well add that to my list of "usual spells" to be taught to people," said Negi. "At least though, I'm only learning Chinese Martial Arts. It's all about counters."

HIkari giggled at that. "That's good to hear. Maybe we should do it some other time though..."

Tailmon sighed. "Might as well do it now, you're already training..."

Hikari pouted. "But I don't think I have much extra strength in my arms from the magic."
