A Numb Feeling Inside... [Open]

If there was anyway of telling that someone was having a very bad week, it was easy to see it with Sasami. Coming off from her injuries after the battle with the Ohm, she ended up snapping and attacking Evangeline over a massive misunderstanding concerning Negi. Then, when it came to the elections, she tossed her metaphorical hat into the metaphorical ring and it completely backfired on her: meeting one of her opponents, he'd tried to convince her to step down and reading some of the messages on the omnicomms, it seemed like her opponents were trying to tell her to back off as well.

You're too young. You're biting off more than you can chew. Why don't you shadow...?

"Why aren't they giving me a chance?" Sasami muttered to herself. "Why won't they? Is it because I'm a kid? O-Or..." she shook her head as she wandered aimlessly into the Media Library. She half-heartedly waved off a working Vivio as she took a seat and curled herself into a ball.

"...m-maybe I should give up..." Sasami muttered, trying not to cry. As she did, Vivio just stared at the poor girl, both mage and Device uncertain on how to cheer her up.

(OoC: Kinda doubling up here. You can speak to either Vivio or Sasami here if need be. Oh, heck, go for both! Don't matter at all!)

Alessa raised her eyebrows, and her hands went to Sasami's. For a second, and ONLY a second, there was a look of actual concern on her face. She knew full well who Evangeline was.

"You are NEVER to underestimate an opponent, much less that one," Alessa said, keeping her voice level. "She is not one to be trifled with. The aura of darkness from that girl is vast. She is one of the strongest beings I've met on the ship, and if I'm saying it, you take that to heart."

She removed her hands, shaking her head. Really, what was that girl thinking? If she had actually made Evangeline mad...

She turned her attention to Sasami's next comment. "I hardly see why. Your speech seemed to embody all that is necessary for one to hols a position on this ship. What's more, you are speaking for a group misrepresented as the weakest link on the ship, the children. What makes you so unsure?"

"If you believe that, you should not run," Alessa said. "Words by people are meaningless in the face of your goals. If you were elected to your position, do you really think you'll have the respect of your peers? These people live to argue, and the best thing they can do in tense situations is blame each other. There is no doubt it is much pressure, and full of more useless garbage spouted by the weak and feeble minded. You said yourself you were a princess. Would you forget your position so easily in the face of adversary, or would you fight?"

"The first mistake was a reckless one," Alessa said. "I've talked with Negi Springfield, so I know now that he is responsible for your power boost. But having power like that is not something you want to pull out, not easily. Whenever you face an opponent, it is important you know what they are capable if, if you're a match for them physically, magically. If you are not, you must find another way to fight."

She cocked her head. "For the second thing, you are being stupid by underestimating a power you already have. I thought well of your speech, and was not at all seeing you as some little child trying to get on council. You had the bravery of any of these stupid adults here, specifically the only one I respect, that woman Nanoha. If you feel you possess the strength and the power to lead, show it. Words can only take you so far, and its equally important not to be beaten by discouraging ones."

It was a strange feeling, if that was what it was, having someone listening to her without their usual threats about attacking her if she dared stepped a toe out of line. It was things like this that reminded her of why she liked Sasami in the first place. She was strong and helpful, but also naive, innocent.

So she gave the girl a hug, keeping her stern face. "If you like, I can help you if this job requires a debate,"

This hugging was still something to get used to. Alessa didn't hug people, nor did she allow them to get close to her if sh could help it. When it came to Sasami, she always made that exception: the girl made her feel at least as of this ship was smaller than it was.

"Then let me know when you need me," Alessa said. "I will be here."

And Alessa, despite not addressing it, cared for Sasami in her own way. Meaning that if Alessa ever finds out who was trying to lower Sasami's self esteem, they're getting rebuked Alessa style.

"I was merely trying to refocus you on your goals," Alessa said, refusing to believe she could cheer ANYONE up. "I'm sure you would, but that is unlikely. Demons do not get depressed. We don't feel most human emotions."
