The Not!Adult!Date
"Table for two?"
"Smoking or non?"
"Right this way please."
Holding out Sasami's chair for her, Negi waited for her to seat herself before he took a seat himself. The restaurant was a fairly high class one for tourists, one that had alien script that roughly translated to "The World Ahead". "Welcome to the World Ahead," said the server as Negi took his seat. "Can we get anything to start?"
"Um..." Negi popped open the menu and scanned it. It auto-translated to what his home language and said, "This bread would be nice. And something sweet to drink?"
"Very good sir. And for the lady? And an ash tray for your... pet?"
"The pet would prefer an ash tray yes," said Chamo with a look at the waiter who blinked his five eyes. "And something sparkly to drink."
"Very good sir."

Sasami sat down when Negi ended up offering her a seat. When she went to order, pretty much the same thing Negi had, she looked down at Chamo after he spoke.
"Really, now... is that any way to treat someone?"
no subject
"Sure you are," chuckled Negi as he smiled at Sasami. "You're very pretty Sasami-chan!"
"Your drinks and bread sir and madam," said the waiter, sweeping in with the food and pouring the glasses full of a bubbly liquid. "Enjoy. I will return soon with the menu."
no subject
"Ah... um... th-thank you, Negi-kun..." Sasami said, blushing at his compliment. She really didn't think she was like that, but to hear it from someone else, it felt great.
Trying to calm herself down, she took her glass and took a sip of the drink.

"The drink is marvelous," he said as he set down his glass and tore off a bit of the bread in front of himself, nibbling on the piece. It was an explosion of sweet fruit and other spices that contrasted well and he didn't notice he was making a "Mmmm!" noise until he caught himself and blushed.
"Menus sir and madam," said the waiter before Negi could embarrass himself further.
no subject
Sasami giggled slightly as she noticed Negi's reactions. She calmed herself, though, as she took the menu.
"I have to admit, the drink IS very good... though, what did you want to eat?" Sasami asked. She was a little curious to see what he was going to have.
no subject
"This egg dish looks good too," said Chamo. "I'll get that myself." And he sipped at the drink in front of himself. "Good stuff."
no subject
"I know I sound a bit unoriginal, but I'll take the same thing he has...!" Sasami said, pointing to Negi slightly. She wasn't going to admit that she had left her usual gear back in the hotel and get Negi to help. Not now at least...!
no subject
Negi smiled as he rested his elbows slightly on the table, folding his hands in front of him thoughtfully. "You know we never got a chance to just sit around and talk like this," said Negi.
no subject
Sasami chuckled as she sat back. "You're right - we haven't. We've been so busy either trying to cheer each other up or trying to help others, well..."
She let out a sigh. "I'm glad we do now..."
no subject
"So Sasami-chan, I'd like to ask a question. What's it like, having a family? You know I grew up being raised by other people than my mom and dad, but I was just wondering how it was for you." He chuckled. "Not that I want to mood-shift the conversation but good memories you know?"
no subject
"A family?" Sasami asked. She smiled a bit before answering Negi's question. "It's a wonderful thing. Even though, I have... well, two families. I have the one from my world... and those on Earth. I'm glad to have both of them, no matter what happens. Maybe one day you'll see yours again, though...!"
no subject
Negi chuckled. "Mom and dad. I never got used to that to be honest, knowing I have a mom out there, somewhere. She's a Queen. I don't FEEL like Royalty."
no subject
Sasami couldn't help but smile. Negi was royalty, too. Small world. Though hearing him say he doesn't feel that way made her relax a bit.
"Not everyone does feel that way. I know I do still, but I like the more simpler things in life..." she said.

Sasami couldn't help but laugh. "I think we both do, Negi-kun... I think we both do."
As she said that, her hand reached over the table, wanting to take Negi's. Part of her was still worried over the earlier outburst.
no subject
His cheeks darkened. "Call this on me then. It's my way of saying that I enjoy your company and um, I really do love what you did for me."
no subject
"A-Are you sure?" Sasami said, a bit surprised. "I mean... I-I did what I thought others would have and... I..."
She looked down, trying her best to hide her blushing and failing. The thought of Negi acting like this over her actions was causing her heart to beat faster... it was odd and yet... wonderful. Kinda confusing over what it could be...
"...okay... if you need me again, though..."
no subject
"Sorry, if I'm being a little forward."
no subject
"...don't be, Negi-kun." Sasami said, laying a hand over where Negi had kissed her. "Besides, I was the one who first kissed you, remember?"
She made a mental note, though - try to make the second one a special one.
no subject
And he smiled, chuckling softly. "Of course, I remember. It was very nice."
"Ah young love," said Chamo and Negi looked at his familiar who made a zipping motion with his fingers.
He blushed deeply.
no subject
Sasami couldn't help but laugh at Negi's reaction before taking another sip of her drink. "You two are quite the pair..." she said, chuckling. "I hope our food comes soon, though. I'm kinda getting hungry..."
no subject
Setting down three plates, Negi sort of stared at the small portions. "This is it?"
"Yes sir it is," said the man. "Bon appetite."
Negi stared and then laughed softly. "I should have known..."
no subject
Sasami couldn't help but gawk at what she was looking at. This wasn't a dinner - it was barely a light snack.
"I think we both should have known...!" Sasami said, her shock turning into amusement. "...I feel like going back and cooking something bigger..."
no subject
He dug in and blinked. "Wow, this is pretty good though."
"Definitely," said Chamo from where he was eating. "Seems about right for me."
no subject
"For something so small, it is very good...!" Sasami said, digging in as well. "Still wish it was bigger..."
It was pretty much simple to see that she was going to go through her meal quickly, especially with such a small portion.
no subject
He pitched his voice so none of the patrons could hear him. "Why don't we order a bottle of this drink to go and then we can go get some hamburgers?"
no subject
Sasami chuckled a bit and nodded. "I agree..." she murmured. "The drink is good, but the food leaves little to work with..."
no subject
"Certainly sir. I'll bring your bill momentarily as well."
He whisked the empty plates away and soon came back with the bill and bottle.
Negi peeked. And let out a low whistle. "Glad I've already bought what I needed."
no subject
Sasami blinked at Negi's reaction. That wasn't good. "Are you sure you don't need help? I still have some left over..."
no subject
He grinned. "It's just a wee bit more expensive than I thought it would be. Course that could be the price of the drink."
no subject
Sasami nodded. "That's true. Though, if you can handle it, go ahead..." She lowered her voice a bit as she continued. "...I'll handle the hamburgers, then."
no subject
Chamo jumped to his shoulder. "Shall we?" said Negi, feeling just slightly unsteady. He must have been sitting too long, that was it...
no subject
A smile crossed Sasami's lips as she reached over and took Negi's hand before standing. There was a bit of hesitance before she did. That was odd...
"Let's!" Sasami said, nodding.
no subject
Flushed and smiling, Negi stepped into the sun. "Let's go find a burger house," said Negi with a cheer.
no subject
"Alright...!" Sasami said, giving Negi's hand a squeeze.
If there's anything she can say about this? Was that the Shore Leave was not a waste. Not at all.
