Katas by the beach [Open]

Kate was dressed in a swim suit for some swimming in a bit. The idea of cool and real water against the skin was a delight. She had already had finished much of the shopping she wished to, and now it was good to relax at the beach. Though before swimming she wanted to do some stretches. Though this turned into going into some of the katas she had learned from her martial arts part of her training. The sand felt good against her feet, as she smoothly turned, and went through the motions and positions.

"It happens often enough in my world. Do you live in a galaxy that has conquered death?"

Kate thought about that for a moment, "Not exactly... most people still die. Some heroes come back, some don't." Briefly thinking of ones like Goliath, Cap, the Wasp... the list went on. There would be no return for her mother, things just didn't work that way.

"Then it is foolish to be surprised when people die in a war," Vader replied, harshly. "They have assembled a group of children to do their fighting."

Kate glared back at that, her blue eyes sparking with anger.

"I'm not surprised, but I'm not so callous to write it off when it does. It shouldn't happen. And this isn't the first war I've fought in. There were plenty back home too, and we so called children can hold our own better than you so called grown ups think."

"If I am callous, then it is only the result of years of experience," Vader said, now openly taunting her. "And I have faced children made soldiers- they are no better than slaves."

"Excuse me? No, no. No. This was our choice. Ok, not the whole thing with Stacy, but what I was before? We wanted this. We wanted to make a difference and help others. Granted some of the wars weren't our idea either, but we could have stayed out of it. We chose not to."

Vader just shook his head. "A world with a police force of children can never be anything but constantly at war. Total anarchy."

"Uh no, actually that was some of the grown ups on my world that we were fighting alongside with. They needed us to keep it from getting worse."

"There is no such thing as good and evil- only power. You were manipulated by them for their own gain," Vader said. "I have seen it before."

Kate snorted at that, "I'll agree maybe there was some of it in the first one, the second? We were all defending our home planet. Biiiig difference there."

"One planet is utterly significant in the scheme of things. Wars do not hinge on the win or loss of a single world," he said.

"When it's beings from one other planet who are only invading yours? Yeah, it kind of is."
