Do As I Say, And Not As I Do [Closed]

This was a conspiracy. However Sherry and Vivio's respective parents had come to the conclusion that it would be a good idea for them to room together, must've have certainly forgotten how much Sherry disliked being stuck in small rooms with people she barely knew.

And a few words here and there when Sherry went to download a new book or watch a movie in the Media Library didn't count as a long and lasting friendship between children. Be nice, her parents had said.

Well, she hadn't said anything particularly blunt lately, did that count? Sherry rolled over to her side in the dark room and looked at the back of her roommate's head. Their parents had done their final check up on the girls before turning out the lights and going of to do whatever it was adults did once they sent their children away.

"Vivio. Vivio. Are you awake?" Sherry whispered loudly.

"They won't catch us." Well, probably. Sherry ticked the reasons off with her fingers as she walked over to the dresser and looked for something to wear. "One: They're going to think we're asleep. Two: I don't know about yours, but my parents are absolutely gross when they're together and are unlikely to notice even if we are nearby. Three: It'd be a total waste to not see what the island is like at night. Four: You can blame it all on me if we do get caught. But we won't, so it's fine."

She pulled a purple sundress (http://www.zoomkidsclothes.com/images/911049%5B2%5D.jpg) out of the dresser and turned back to Vivio. "So, hurry. Time's wasting."

Vivio was still utterly unsure of herself. Nanoha-mama and Fate-mama weren't THAT bad when they were all lovey-dovey. But, still...

"Well..." Vivio said, worried. "...alright..." She let out a defeated sigh. She was going to get in so much trouble, that was for sure.

Hopping out of bed to get dressed herself, Sacred Heart got out of its sleep mode to notice the girls getting dressed.

This wasn't going to fair well.

Sherry tossed off her pajamas and pulled the sundress over her head, straightening the ties on her shoulders and fixing her hair. "It will be fine. I don't see why you're worried." And they'd have the boys with them. If it was something really troublesome, then maybe Vega could just chatter away about his zoid until their attackers knocked themselves out.

Unlikely, of course, but amusing nonetheless.

Vivio let out another defeated sigh. She wasn't winning this battle, no matter how hard she tried. She switched out of her own pajamas and went for a normal shirt and skirt. As she did, Sacred Heart hovered over to her, giving her a worried look.

"...I think it's best if you came with us." Vivio said. The bunny Device just looked, then nodded in agreement.

Though Sherry loved her new parents like no other, she had to admit that the Birkins had given her a taste for the methodical and getting dressed was a quick business. She slipped on her sandals and wiggled her toes before she stood up and slipped her blue leather bag over her head. A quick check made sure there was a spare room key, and her electronic reader, but not much else. Well, that was fine; it wasn't like they were escaping from the undead ~~again~~.

She glanced at Vivio, "Are you ready?"

Sliding on her own shoes, Vivio looked at Sherry with a look that said "Do I look ready?" and just nodded.

"Yeah, I'm ready..." she said. "Let's get going."

Sherry nodded, and quietly opened the door to their room. The hall was empty, there were no noises coming from either side of the hallway, parental or otherwise.

She waved Vivio on with one hand and bit her cheeks to keep from grinning like an idiot. This was going to be so much fun! Well, for her. Vivio looked like she was going to have a cow. The two little girls hurried to the elevator.

Sherry couldn't help but feel a little nervous as it ticked up the floors to theirs. Would their parents be inside? Wouldn't they? "Do you remember which hotel Fletcher is in?"

"Fletcher's hotel?" Vivio repeated "Ah... no, I don't remember right now..." She probably could remember if she wasn't mentally flailing inside.

It was so far, so good - hadn't been caught yet, but that didn't mean that they were going to get away that easily!

"Well, we'll find it. It's fine," Sherry assured her. The elevator opened with a pleasant ding! and was (thankfully) empty of parents. "That was lucky." An awfully beneficial opening to their little adventure, though Sherry chose to be cautiously optimistic about it. There was still the lobby to get through, after all.

They stepped inside the elevator and Sherry pushed the button for the lobby. "When we get into the lobby, keep an eye out for our parents. There's no telling if they might be on their way back up." If they'd even left their rooms at all. "And then we can go explore! And find the others."

Vivio nodded as they entered the elevator. "Okay. Let's hope they're not down there..." she said.

As she said that, Sacred Heart just kept looking worried, hoping they weren't going to get caught. This was very dangerous...

"If they are, don't freeze up." There was a backup plan for everything. "That will only make them more suspicious." Sherry took a little breath as the floor dinged and the doors opened to the spacious lobby. She skittered out beside the door and took a quick look of the denizens before giving a thumbs up to Vivio.

This was going better than she thought. "Quick, to the front doors and on to... well, whatever this place is like at night."

"Okay...!" Vivio said, a LITTLE bit of courage building up. She didn't like it still, but she was almost there, so...!

She followed close behind Sherry, waiting for her next move.

Sherry took hold of Vivio's hand and led them both outside. Here it was. Freedom! Interesting things to look at! Not being in bed!

"See, and you were worried," she almost smiled and bounced a bit on the balls of her feet, excitedly.

Poor Sherry. That excitement would be short-lived, when the doors of the hotel opened, and Claire came running out, immediately spotting the pair attempting to make a break for it. She was actually relieved they hadn't gotten far.

"And just where do you two think you're going?"

Vivio came to a stop hearing that voice. She wasn't too familiar with it, but the fact that it was directed at them two...

...Vivio came to a stop and turned around, eyes wide.

"Ahh...! U-Um, ahh...!" Vivio stammered. Her mind began racing as to figure out what to say next.

Sherry blanched and turned around slowly, "M-Mom...!" She backpedaled further into the street. "You're, um, here." Her first thought was to throw Vivio at her mother and take off, but was quickly ignored.

"...Hi?" Her plan! Her wonderful plan! Ruined.

"Hi." Claire's tone was flat, although it wasn't unkind. She held the door open, gesturing with her other hand.

"It's late, and you two should be in bed, right?" Honestly she hadn't really expected Sherry to sneak off in the middle of the night, sheesh.

"Y-Yes, but..." Vivio began. Her mind was racing, trying to find answers, until...

"...she made me go with her! I wanted to stay in bed, but she wanted to go out!" Vivio cried out, pointing at Sherry. Sacred Heart visibly face palmed.

Sherry sighed at Vivio and trudged to the door. Hindsight was 20/20: maybe she should've just made a run for it, and thrown Vivio under the proverbial bus.

Claire sighed as the girls marched past, closing the door behind them and dropping a hand on Sherry's shoulder as they walked, just to make sure Sherry didn't decide to make a break for it.

"My little ringleader," she muttered quietly, doing her best not to find it funny. This was serious parenting time, after all.

Vivio walked on, hanging her head.

To her, she was probably a dead girl. Or at the very least, a punished one.

Sacred Heart hovered right behind Vivio, wanting to comfort the girl, but held back. If Nanoha came in and saw it doing so, she'd be mad at him as well!

The elevator dinged, and out of the doors came one of the other girl's mothers - who sighed in relief when she saw Claire with Vivio and Sherry in tow. "Oh good," Nanoha exhaled, "You found them. Did they get too far?"

"Barely got out the door," she replied, giving Nanoha a slight smile, steering Sherry into the elevator. She wasn't going to let go of the little girl until they were back upstairs.

Nanoha wasn't the only one in the elevator; Vivio's other mother was also there, and the worry was clear on her face, especially when she saw how terrified Vivio seemed to be.

"Are you two okay?"

Vivio cowed a bit, looking down, shuffling her feet.

"...we're okay..." Vivio said.
