Shore Leave Part 2: THE SHORELEAVENING

Eventually, the Obs Deck made its way through the planet's atmosphere. There was a notable lurch, and then gravity returned to the Obs Deck.

Several minutes pass, and there was a loud thoom as Obs Deck landed. A large section of wall opens up to become a wide access ramp, revealing the bright, blue sky.

As the crew stepped out of the Obs Deck, they could see that they were on a landing pad of some sort. To the side, they could see another hatch on the side of the Obs Deck pod open, with large tendrils reaching inside and pulling out the vehicles Stacy mentioned earlier.

Out in the distance, they could see a large, technologically advanced city, and even further down they could see the long tracks of beach, filled with hundreds of tourists of all different species.

As they stood around, taking in the sights, a rather perky looking, green-skinned alien attendant came up to greet them.

"Greetings, everyone!" she said. "Welcome to Zokez II! My name is Kyzket, and I'll be your liaison for the duration of your stay. I'll have to ask everyone to please leave any weaponry you may have on your person aboard your vessel, as all weaponry is strictly forbidden on the planet's surface."

"Your ship's AI has already handled all the booking, and has keyed your communicators to have a line directly to my own if you need any help."

"Now, does anyone have any questions?"

"Booking?" Tycho questioned. "Places to stay?"

[identity profile] capture-worlds.livejournal.com 2010-06-12 05:11 am (UTC)(link)
"You've never heard of a hotel?" Tsukasa asked, before mounting his Machine Decader.

Tycho's face remained impassive, not so much as flickering at the kid's rudeness. "There are various types of accommodations that could have been arranged for us," he said mildly. "I was merely wondering about the specifics. Perhaps I did not word my question well enough for my meaning to be clear. My mistake."

The response was completely polite, and classic Tycho.

"Remember this," Tsukasa said, pointing a finger toward the Path of Heaven skyward. "Always speak clearly so people will understand. This way, you won't have to correct yourself."

"Thank you." Tycho smiled kindly at the attendant. "Is there a local network from which we can access information on the available options?"

"Also, I have another question, if I might. Since we're not allowed to bring our own weapons, I was wondering, what are the security arrangements on planet?"

"Is there a place I can get...home improvement supplies?" Tsukasa said, with a look of earnest on his face...like finding the supplies to fix the Hikari Studio was a matter of life and death to him.

Axl made a face at the mention of weapons. "Ugh. Guess no weapons makes sense for a resort, but I still feel kinda naked without 'em."

At least he still had his copy chip to fall back on.

[identity profile] gunslinging.livejournal.com 2010-06-12 05:31 am (UTC)(link)
"Not a big deal. I get the feeling this place isn't nearly as crazy as home, anyway." (Or at least if it's crazy, it's completely in the 'drunken revelry' kind of way and not the 'Maverick attacks, must be Thursday' kind of way.)

Axl shrugs, but then adds, "Actually, now that I'm thinking about it. Are you guys used to catering to mechanicals, and not just organic life? There's a couple things I wanna stock up on."

Indigo glances around, scanners taking everything in before she questions Kyzket. "I desire watercolor paints and dance clubs. Could you please indicate the locations where I could discover them on a map?"

[identity profile] indigoblueberry.livejournal.com 2010-06-12 05:29 am (UTC)(link)
"Thank you." She smiles, a warm one rather than the strict politeness in her tone.

The booking thing was easy enough to understand. People with enough status on Krynn could reserve a room at an inn if they so desired, but it rarely happened except for in bigger cities like Palanthas.

"Not even a dagger?" Kang asked, uncomfortable with the no weapons thing. Even if he didn't intend on using one while on the planet (which, from what he could see of it already, was amazing), he just felt... better with one on his person. Old habits die hard.

"I don't like it, but I'll follow the rules," Kang's wings rustled.

"Where would I find local clothing shops?"

If she was going to be here, and with money no less, she wsanted to know exactly where she could get something new to wear. It was one of the few luxuries she knew she'd have.

Sokka piped up from behind Katara.

"Where can we get meat? Like, real meat? Honest-to-goodness, cooked on a spit and dripping with deliciousness meat?" His mouth is already watering at the thought of something that isn't mush.

[identity profile] kaya-waterwave.livejournal.com 2010-06-12 01:26 pm (UTC)(link)
Katara nodded enthusiastically. Normally she didn't share her brother's affection for meat, but considering the lack of real tangible food, she was all for finding some real food.

"There HAS to be fish here, right?"

Red snout stared at the alien for a moment before he spoke.

"Is there anywhere we may hunt live prey? I wish to stretch my legs and taste the hot life-blood of my prey as it spills into the dirt." Yeah. Way to be creepy, Red Snout.

[identity profile] raptorwithagun.livejournal.com 2010-06-12 10:33 pm (UTC)(link)
Red Snout actually steepled his foreclaws together at that.

"Excellent. Most excellent, yes."

Well, this is good to know. Is it open late?

"Where can we get swimsuits?"
