There is an AI on the ship that goes by the name Bender Stack. It only pops up now and again, and now its function may finally be somewhat clear.

"Hey. Hey meatbag!" says a grating voice.

Bender Stack chases people away from work when they've been doing too much of it.

This is why Brainiac 5 leaves the Special Weapons Division and by the time he gets up to the Living Area (having decided to eat anyway if the irritating AI is going to heckle him out of work) he's about at his wit's end.

"--For the last time, I am not going to build you a robot prostitute! You're an AI, not a mechanoid, you couldn't interface with it anyway."

The playful expression is gone. "Would you stop that?"

"I think you've mistaken me for Paco. This is the first time I've pointed it out."

"Your tendencies to annoy being the primary facets of your personalities make you nearly indistinguishable. My apologies."

"I object to that statement. I'm loads funnier than Paco is. Besides, y'know. if you just admitted it we wouldn't bug you about it."

"There is nothing to admit," Brainy insists, now annoyed.

"I said the same thing about 1500 times about my grilfirend, but it didn't make it true."

"As your observational skills seem to be lacking, I'd like to note I am very clearly not you, and Supergirl is very clearly not your girlfriend," he says. "She's an acquaintance. Nothing more."

Brainy starts walking.

"My personal affairs are also clearly not your concern."

"Brainy, I'm just trying to help."

"I do not require your assistance, and my preference is that my personal life stays personal rather than becoming a matter of public speculation," he says, the tone of his voice making it very clear this is a sour point.

The annoyance fades, and the snappish tone goes away.

"Back home, I am used to...attempts to pry--however, my team-mates that make said attempts are usually more proficient at understanding when not to."

"That would be why I'm making whenever you reach the Annoyance Critical Mass very clear, and intend to keep doing so in the future."
