Paradox of Being
Title: Paradox of Being
Location: Stacy; City Park
Note: Things may get confusing in this but one thing to remember: This is not magic that's being dealt with. This is pure Emotion, so when things like "Sadness" or "Euphoria" are mentioned, they are perceived as very solid, very tangible and very, very real. Expect the unexpected.
Renne had had to think through many things of late.
He'd wandered like he always does and confronted the things his mind put to him. He analysed everything in keen, close detail with full intent of extracting logical solutions. Except for many of his thoughts, logic hadn't fit the equation.
Emotion fit where Logic had not.
In exploring and analysing this massive ship (or as much as he knows by now), Renne settles on a spot "outside" in the City. He sits for a short while in meditation and hopes perhaps, that whatever he can give, it may be enough.

So he sits beside his brother, quietly trying to relax.

Which by the way, isn't a bad thing. Coming smoothly up out of a meditative introspection, the oddity's ears give a perk. Sniff. And then he simply grins, barely resisting the urge to pounce the Human right here and now.
"Bee!"
no subject
Oh yes, he always wants to know what's going on. For better or for worse.
no subject
"Eee. Rrr-enne go heee-rrre. Rrrr-enne thin-k Rrrr-enne trrry teea-ch haow do Feel." Chitter. It may well be a difficult thing to teach but it shouldn't be anymore difficult than...well...being what he's about to teach willing life-forms to do.
no subject
Not that many things have been impossible for them.
no subject
There's a moment of silence as the oddity considers his next words. Thoughts like this often are the object of long meditation sessions.
"Rrrr-enne wahn-t be use-fuhll. Li-ke Bee is."
no subject
It intrigues him, actually.
no subject
"Eee, Rrrr-enne wahn-t hell-p, eey-ess."
no subject
He smiles then, ruffling the hair. "So when did you plan to start teaching?"
no subject
And then forward twitch his ears. A thoughtful purr later, the oddity sits back on his big feet and grins.
"Whe-n Bee wahn-t?"
no subject
Question for question, he thinks with a playful grin.
no subject
"Rrr-enne go-t ti-me. Wha-t Bee thin-k?" There's the beginning of that impish "prelude to pouncing" look on his face.

Like Billy, Katara had no desire to break Renne in his meditative state: she knew all too well how important it was to stay in that frame of mind. Aang was the same way, and would get cross when he was interrupted. Like Billy, she sat near Renne, closing her eyes, taking her breaths to calm herself.
She hoped she didn't bother him.
no subject
His ears give a few twitches and a few minutes later, his big eyes blink curiously open.
"Eee?"
no subject
"Sorry for bothering you," Katara said. "I was actually curious about what you were doing. You looked like you were in meditation I'm curious: how do you do it, where you're from?"
Which was just a precursor for "what are you doing?"
no subject
Renne gives a nod and for a moment, unfolds from that twisted-lotus posture. Don't be alarmed by the series of rather loud bone-cracks. They're quite all right in him and while the sound of it might make a chiropractor squirm, the imp gives a relieved sort of purr.
"Rrr-enne do, eey-ess. Wha-t Tarrr-Tarrr mean?"
no subject
Katara was a little concerned about the bones cracking: after all, in healing, she had learned a bit of basic things about the human body in the ability to heal. When she heard the purr, she relaxed though. She was glad that whatever he was doing, it wasn't hurting him.
"Well, meditating is different for everyone. When I meditate, I take breaths. I slowly ground and center, and then I start to allow my mind and body to sort of feel an inner calm wash over me. It's what I do before I prepare to do a kind of out of body work, like dreamscaping, or before I train. What about you?"
no subject
Chirping, he untangles himself in one last painful-looking stretch, then moves into a kind of reverse-lotus position. His ears come up and forward and his head lifts so his chin is parallel to the ground.
"Rrrr-enne show Tarrr-Tarrr, if Tarrr-Tarrr wahn-t. It hell-p Rrr-enne do figh-t."
no subject
"Show me? Show me what?"
no subject
Chitter. His ears give a backward-flick upon that admission. He'd told one other just how Emotion can be employed and how a life-form such as he understands it.
no subject
"How do you fight that way? I've told you how I've fight, you've even see it. But I'm still not quite sure how you fight with feel."
no subject
He always asks when dealing with this kind of thing. When dealing with the bare-bones of what he is, how he works, how he fights...it can be overwhelming at times. It can even, by some, be considered unnatural and in the past, it has. So he had studied his Tenets as well as he could to ensure neither side confronts any danger.
no subject
"Please," she said, "Show me."
no subject
His chirp's a low-toned sound. Amid this and a nod, the oddity allows a sequence of things to unfold. First of which, comes a memory, specifically of a war...
Renne had seen war before -- This one, between Xyvoria and Malicant was one of those in a larger scale. The two nations had Mages, foot soldiers and cavalry but Xyvoria had one thing Malicant did not: It had Renne and he threw out what he understood against the Malicantians. This was a naive time for him, when he did not know how easily sides could shift and how twisted politics could become.
The Malicantians had been defeated but Renne had staunchly disobeyed one key order: He had never touched civilians as Xyvoria's queen had demanded. So she had turned on him, displaying her vanity to its full potential. She was a beautiful woman, but that vanity and her sheer prejudices twisted it. And he was indeed, a convenient target.

Sloooowtifs. Sorries!
Re: Sloooowtifs. Sorries!
Katara's Lesson
And telling the Multiverse "Bitch, please" hasn't always worked.
Still, the calm creature chooses his lesson and reverts his voice into the Low-Tongue translations the twins had taught him how to do. It's notably more difficult with English but he hopefully manages with this.
Thee, hear One?
A pause.
Thee, have Feel. In One, this, thee touch. Thee must un-der-stand, what thee Feel, thee Touch. Yes?
Another pause.
To demonstrate, the creature partially Transcends, then seems to lose himself for a moment in what appears to be a very, very fond memory. About two minutes later, he holds something in cupped paws. It...looks....a lot like very shiny, glowing goo of some kind but to touch this is to know euphoria. To touch this strange, starlight-liquid-glow is to know bliss.
