Paradox of Being

Title: Paradox of Being
Location: Stacy; City Park
Note: Things may get confusing in this but one thing to remember: This is not magic that's being dealt with. This is pure Emotion, so when things like "Sadness" or "Euphoria" are mentioned, they are perceived as very solid, very tangible and very, very real. Expect the unexpected.

Renne had had to think through many things of late.

He'd wandered like he always does and confronted the things his mind put to him. He analysed everything in keen, close detail with full intent of extracting logical solutions. Except for many of his thoughts, logic hadn't fit the equation.
Emotion fit where Logic had not.

In exploring and analysing this massive ship (or as much as he knows by now), Renne settles on a spot "outside" in the City. He sits for a short while in meditation and hopes perhaps, that whatever he can give, it may be enough.

It's funny how Billy's feet always seem to lead him to his friends. On a walk back from checking on the various building, he sees Renne meditating in the park. Ever-curious, he goes to investigate without disruption. Breaking a meditative state would be rude.

So he sits beside his brother, quietly trying to relax.

"Hey," he smiles back, somewhat unfolding from his meditative stance. "What are you up to?"

Oh yes, he always wants to know what's going on. For better or for worse.

"Teach how to feel? To use and process emotions as you do?" Color him intrigued. "Is that even possible?"

Not that many things have been impossible for them.

"You want to share one of your skills with us." Billy makes a soft affirmative noise in understanding. "You're already useful---as one of our best cooks and a healer. If you want to do this too, though, I definitely won't object."

It intrigues him, actually.

"Then I completely support you. If you ever need anything from me, you know you only need to ask."

He smiles then, ruffling the hair. "So when did you plan to start teaching?"

"When are you ready?"

Question for question, he thinks with a playful grin.

Billy wasn't the only who was able to sense Renne: Katara, without realizing it, could get an impression of Renne now, though even she didn't quite understand how it happened: she just felt it. When she stepped near the City Park, impressions led her to believe that Renne was here,m and she followed those impressions until she saw him a few feet away, meditating.

Like Billy, Katara had no desire to break Renne in his meditative state: she knew all too well how important it was to stay in that frame of mind. Aang was the same way, and would get cross when he was interrupted. Like Billy, she sat near Renne, closing her eyes, taking her breaths to calm herself.

She hoped she didn't bother him.

[identity profile] kaya-waterwave.livejournal.com 2010-05-29 11:14 pm (UTC)(link)
Katara would have known exactly what Renne was talking about: she hardly has time to herself to actually meditate the way she really wanted to, and there was barely any time to just make a quiet space for herself. When she heard the "Eee" from Renne, she knew that he had woken from his trance at well.

"Sorry for bothering you," Katara said. "I was actually curious about what you were doing. You looked like you were in meditation I'm curious: how do you do it, where you're from?"

Which was just a precursor for "what are you doing?"

[identity profile] kaya-waterwave.livejournal.com 2010-05-30 01:28 am (UTC)(link)
"I'm glad for that," Katara said. "I was afraid I was bothering you."

Katara was a little concerned about the bones cracking: after all, in healing, she had learned a bit of basic things about the human body in the ability to heal. When she heard the purr, she relaxed though. She was glad that whatever he was doing, it wasn't hurting him.

"Well, meditating is different for everyone. When I meditate, I take breaths. I slowly ground and center, and then I start to allow my mind and body to sort of feel an inner calm wash over me. It's what I do before I prepare to do a kind of out of body work, like dreamscaping, or before I train. What about you?"

[identity profile] kaya-waterwave.livejournal.com 2010-05-30 03:40 am (UTC)(link)
Katara was going to have to ask him how it was that he did that: it looked pretty remarkable, although a little painful too. But at his next few words, Katara turned around, looking a little startled.

"Show me? Show me what?"

[identity profile] kaya-waterwave.livejournal.com 2010-05-31 02:33 am (UTC)(link)
Katara listened carefully, although she was still gathering her ideas on what exactly Renne was and what his powers were. With feel. That was new, but at the same time she was getting a clearer idea of what Renne was talking about.

"How do you fight that way? I've told you how I've fight, you've even see it. But I'm still not quite sure how you fight with feel."

[identity profile] kaya-waterwave.livejournal.com 2010-06-01 04:33 am (UTC)(link)
Katara understood the gravity of what Renne was asking of her without so many words. The pieces of what that was stayed in her mind, and made her wonder about what Renne was fully able to do. She calmed herself inward a moment: whatever was going to happen next, she had the power to back out now.

"Please," she said, "Show me."
