Itadakimasu~! [OPEN PARTY]
If the Mess Hall normally smelled like anything, it was the bland, flavorless glop that the crew was accustomed to eating. But if you were to pass by the room today, you might notice a different smell. A good smell - the smell of actual food.
Nanoha Takamachi and Miku Hinasaki have been hard at work cooking up a feast of authentic homemade Japanese cuisine, and the entire ship is invited. Have at it!
(ooc: Thread amongst yourselves; Nanoha and Miku will be tagging around and making sure everyone's having a good time, but it's a party!
There's pretty much every type of Japanese cuisine here that they thought non-Japanese would enjoy/be familiar with: Hand-rolled sushi, some gyoza potstickers, udon bowls, agedashi tofu, and a variety of other dishes. If you're familiar with it, they probably made some.)

Re: The Front Lines!
That at least meant she wasn't stupidly naive like some people on the ship.
"May I have one then?" She asked. "I have not had anything like this Japanese dish outside of fish."
Re: The Front Lines!
The uncharitable line of thoughts continued with the chill that quietly and continually spread over her back and put gooseflesh on her arms under the suit. She applied Cargn's training to it. If she couldn't even withhold her revulsion of Alessa, she had even less of a right to go poking around through the memories of people's sacred objects. She needed to hate the act, but not the person.
Even if it were easier to just disregard Alessa entirely. Miku caught a glance of Steve coming into the mess hall and smiled. There, there was a worthy goal at the end of this; she just had to make it past cooking and horrible little vengence-driven demon children first. Then, she could sit next to Steve and be happy.
"If you like, I think we made a few bowls of kitsune-udon, try it after to note the differences in the taste of the tofu," Miku suggested and popped two more pieces of tofu on to the drainer. She arranged three into a bowl, and ladled the broth over them, then sprinkled the dish with the daikon and ginger. "Eat well."
Re: The Front Lines!
Which was why she was here, to a certain extent. She knew well enough that Miku had no love of her, and she was fine with that. Few people here did. She spotted one who did though: Sasami, the alien girl she'd met, and gave her a wave. At least there was that to make her feel a little less scourged. She could act as if people's clear dislike of her meant nothing, but this ship was all she had right now: it would help to feel somewhat comfortable here.
"I'll do that," Alessa said. "I was not aware that different ways of preparation enabled different tastes."
And while it irritated her to no end, she asked this next question anyway.
"You and that boy you just smiled at...you were both well, after the Nightmare King attack?"
Re: The Front Lines!
Miku felt a streak of electricity run through her at the thought of Alessa bothering Steve. Protectiveness, maybe? "We're fine," she answered. "And even if something isn't fine, we at least have each other to talk to about it."
As if to combat the chill of being around Alessa, the warmth of being near Steve made her chest ache. "Why do you ask?" she couldn't help the slightly suspicious raise of her eyebrow.
Re: The Front Lines!
Alessa raised an eyebrow. "If you're comfortable with each other in that way, of course." What was Miku getting defensive about? She didn't think she would ever understand this girl.
But at what she said next, Alessa felt a surge of actual anger there. Had she forgotten that she'd actually helped them, even though she'd been virtually diminished in strength? That was almost insulting.
"Nevermind," Alessa said duly. "Forget I asked. I was making conversation."
See if she ever did something like that again. Now she actually felt as if she could hear other demon laughing at her, wherever they were now.

Re: The Front Lines!
This explained why Sasami was so nice: she was an alien to Earth. They were all so predictable that way anyway.
"Anyway, you're here having your nice time. The food is decent."
