Engaging In Plotting...

In Nathan Petrelli's office, a small group is assembling. Some of them are there for information, and others are there to provide it -- and hopefully to get approval for a plan already in action.

Elfangor, Ax, and Tobias arrived independently of Marco, just in case. None of them wanted his cover as a Controller blown, and spending time with known Andalites would do that very quickly.

The Chief's out of his armor for this meeting, more out of concern for the furniture than anything. He's decided it's better not to test whether the chair was designed for a half ton of MJOLNIR suit and Spartan-II.

He eyes the assembled group. "Who wants to start?"

< I believe it would be better to be straight forward in what today's problem is, > Elfangor said. < There are Controllers on board. >

Marco wasn't saying anything yet - just folding his arms and eying Elfangor and the Chief critically. He did not like this idea. They shouldn't be bringing anyone else into this. Trusting anyone else with it was to risky. Except everyone else had made the decision without him - or, from the sounds of things, Elfangor made the decision, which Marco liked even less - and now they just had to hope that these guys wouldn't screw this up.

He watched the Chief and Nathan carefully.

Tobias had mixed feelings about it, the same way Marco did. He was just as used to guarding things closely and didn't really like bringing outsiders in that much either. At the same time, though, he trusted his father's judgement.

He perched carefully on the outer edge of the desk, feeling one of the disadvantages of his hawk form.

< I'm being careful...I won't leave claw marks behind, I promise. > he had said before. He was unsure what to say now about the task at hand, though.

Finally, he said < One may ultimately not be that dangerous...but we don't know for sure. The other is definitely a problem. >

Nathan had offered his office, figuring it was a neutral spot. He was leaning against his desk with his arms folded in front of him, coolly assessing the gathering.

"Well we sure as hell don't want a repeat of last time. Whole thing near turned the ship upside down."

< It shouldn't be nearly that bad, > Ax said. < There are only two Yeerks here, in entirely normal human hosts -- and one of those hosts is a child. >

He pressed a few buttons on his omnicom and set it on the desk next to Tobias, and it projected a hologram of Tom and Karen's faces. < These are the two Controllers. The little girl is named Karen, and the Yeerk in her head is known as Aftran. We believe she is from a point prior to her making contact first contact with us -- after that point, Aftran releases her host and allows her to live her life uninfested, and later goes on to found the Yeerk Peace Movement, whose members refuse to take unwilling hosts. The teenage male is Tom, Marco has told me that the Yeerk infesting him is named Iniss. He is not particularly dangerous at the point that he was abducted from, but according to Marco and Tobias, he eventually becomes the right hand of the Abomination -- the only Andalite Controller -- and then betrays him for his own ambition. >

< And any Yeerk that is like Visser Three, or Visser One as he will be called, is a Yeerk to be considered a threat. He is aware that some know who he is due to a mishap, but he also believes Marco to be a Conotroller from his fast thinking when he first met him, > Elfangor explained. < Aftran, given what she is inclined to do, could be approached more reasonably. Iniss, however, is not one to take chances with. Using Marco's act, we plan to capture him and restrain him where he will be forced to surrender and leave his host, and given survival in stasis, or to be forced out. >

< We thought it wise to tell others of the Command Staff first, to be on the safe side. > However, there was nothing in his tone that said he was willing to change their plan.

"Iniss might not be dangerous physically, but he is dangerous," Marco said, disagreeing with Ax. "He's power hungry, and he'll manipulate everyone and anyone to get what he wants. He wouldn't think twice about sending everyone on this ship to their deaths if it benefited him. And you can bet he'll move to a more powerful host if he gets the opportunity."

Marco sent a tiny glare to Elfangor - he didn't like the idea of giving Iniss the chance to survive in stasis either - before turning to look directly at the Chief and Nathan. "He needs to be dealt with."

Tobias had little to say, but he listened intently. When Marco finished, though, he did speak up.

< I'm with Marco. Iniss won't just manipulate. He'll kill. He...after the cube fell into Yeerk hands, it was Iniss's snake morph that killed Rachel. > He felt a rush of anger, flexing his talons in response.

[identity profile] mynameisax.livejournal.com 2010-06-26 08:50 pm (UTC)(link)
< Of course he's dangerous, > Ax agreed. < However, when Chief and Nathan encountered the Yeerks, they were members of this crew -- admittedly, members of this crew who did not have any particular 'super powers', but the point is still relevant. Iniss and Aftran will be much easier to capture and restrain than, for example, Robin. >

He cast his main eyes toward Chief and Nathan. < I do not mean to indicate that he is not a danger to the crew, merely that he does not at the moment possess the ability to morph and that he is cut off from his usual base of power. Considering what the crew knows of Yeerks, I believe that he would have some trouble gaining allies, but I would not put it past him to manipulate and lie to people to make things easier for him. We include you in our plan out of respect for the command structure on board this ship, but we are entirely capable of dealing with this situation on our own. You need not get involved. >
