Thrill Ride [Open]

Today was different. Today wasn't about exploring the ship, keeping in shape, or trying to learn more about the Ohm. No, today was about indulging in one of her favorite pastimes - racing through the canyons outside Crevasse City on her classic JR-4 swoop. The fate of Alderaan and the upcoming battle against the Ohm had been weighing heavily on Reyna of late, and she felt in dire need of a distraction.

So it was that she found herself in one of the Sensoriums using her memories of home to conjure up the appropriate terrain, her swoop, and an attractive racing outfit to temporarily replace her plantsuit. Once everything was ready Reyna pulled on her helmet and mounted the swoop. She revved the engine a few times to get a feel for the controls, grinning as it all came flooding back to her, then sealed the helmet's visor and took off at breakneck speed for the nearest canyon.

Her heart pounding with excitement and adrenaline surging in her veins, Reyna weaved her way in and out of each gorge and ravine, climbing and diving and twisting and turning with reckless abandon. The knowledge that she was in no actual danger of getting hurt was lost in the thrill of the ride, and the feeling of flirting with disaster only heightened Reyna's enjoyment of it. She came bursting out of one particularly deep canyon at the last second, whooping with joy at the narrowly averted crash.

She ended her run with a quick dash across a nearby lake before circling back to her starting point at a leisurely pace. Leaving the swoop idling beneath her, Reyna took off her helmet and tucked it under her arm, laughing and smiling as she shook her short brown hair away from her face.

[OOC: All are welcome! Feel free to join Reyna for a wild ride on her swoop, race against her, just hang out and chat, etc. Basically whatever sounds like fun that you can convince Reyna to participate in.]

Having found one of the many sensoriums open the ever curious dragoness had decided to enter, stepping out onto into the world beyond. Pausing a moment to take in the canyons that surrounded the area, the whine of what Celena assumed was some form of engine closing in the distance, no doubt the occupant of the Sensorium. Time to go investigate then, spreading her wings wide she lept into the air.

Her powerful wing muscles propelling her high over the canyons briefly as she scanned the canyons below for the vehicle, her sharp eyes quickly picking out the small vehicle speeding amongst the gorges and ravines below. Tracking it with her eyes as it sped so recklessly through the canyons. A grin given to herself at that, how many times had she sped down through twisting tunnels above he city.

As the vehicle below raced out of the canyons and over a lake, she decided to go meet the rider as they came to a stop not far from where she herself had entered. Swooping down nearby she flared her wings at the last second to kill her momentum to land gracefully even as the other was removing their helmet. A wide smile on her snout as the identity of the rider was revealed.

"Not an unskilled rider in the least I see, Reyna," The Linar greeted with a soft grin as she padded over, the sensorium allowing her to appear her full size, now around nine foot at the shoulder, "It is good to see you again,"

"It does indeed my friend," She replied with a soft chuckle before shaking her head with a mirthful grin at her curiosity,"Unfortunately not, that is one ability I've not yet been able to achieve. This is my natural size, or at least a seeming of it aided by the sensorium," She replied in way of explanation.

Her golden eyes taking in Reyna's current attire and the form beneath, a fine form for a human she had no doubt. Her curious gaze drawn then to the vehicle Reyna had just dismounted, "I've not seen its kind before, a vehicle from your worlds? Along with this world itself would I be wrong in assuming?" she asked with a soft grin as she took in the sights around them for a moment.

A soft chuckle given as she realized that once more her curiosity had gotten the better of her for a moment as she turned her attention back to her friend, "In any event, how have you been since that particular time?"

Celena nodded and followed her gaze to the vehicle as Reyna explained what it was, higher speeds and complicated maneuvering, that sounded a rather nice vehicle to Celena, if she were capable of utilizing such vehicles that is.

"It looks a beautiful world, if this is anything to go by," She replied with a smile before it turned more somber at her mention of her rescue, all here had lost their worlds to the Ohm, and all dealt with it differently. Turning her caring gaze down to her human friend as she spoke...blinking softly as she spoke of the destruction of her planet Ohm or no, "Destroying and entire planet..killing so many, for such a reason as that? That is beyond cruel," Celena shook her head as she spoke, almost to herself.

"Reyna, I am sorry," The Linar spoke softly, "If there is anything I may do I would gladly aid, at least to take your mind off," Leaning her snout around to give her friend a caring bump to her shoulder with the end of her snout. A light tilt of her currently large snout as she thought, "Have you found suitable lodgings aboard?"

Celena dipped her head with a smile at her comment, a soft little happy rumble drawn from to be able to provide Reyna with such a friend. A grin soon forming on her snout at Reyna's request, "It would be my pleasure to take you flying again, Reyna," Replying with a chuckle unfolding her wings a little, flight was one thing she'd rarely refuse.

"Indeed? I've not made use of the crew quarters myself, but I am glad that they have proven suitable for you. I've taken up something of a residence in the city of this ship myself, atop one of the taller buildings,"

Celena smiles warmly at her friends brightened mood, watching on as she banished the swoop. Crouching down for her so it would be easier for her to climb on up, offering her forearm as something of a step to help. Wings unfurling to their full wing span as she would climb up. Once she was up and ready Celena would nod with a grin over her shoulder, "Hold on back there then!" With that she would bring her wings up high, and propel herself skyward with her powerful hind legs, wings swooping down to propel them higher.

After a moment she leveled off, not far above the height of the top of the canyons, using her tail and Tail fins as a rudder to turn them toward the ravines. "The City is a very interesting place indeed, buildings from many different worlds lie within its cavern, many are currently damaged from an event previous to our arrival, however," A smile given back to her passenger, "The top few levels of the building had suffered damage from that same event, I've with a little effort..modified the area within, to ensure it is safe, with a few additions it has proven comfortable. Also has a good view over the city, almost reminds me of home," she explained as they flew, adding that last bit a little more softly.

Celena grinned as she glanced back over her shoulder to her passenger before taking her gaze to the simulated world around them, that familiar feel of the wind beneath her wings as they beat powerfully every now and again. Flight was one of her many joys, and one of the few things she would rarely if ever refuse, loving the freedom it gave. Her gaze lingering back to the ravines as if sizing them up as they flew, drawing closer.

"Very much so, there are so many wonderfully interesting things to be seen," She called back easily over the wind, a bob of her head in acknowledgment, "It is still a work in progress, but it would be a pleasure to have you by Reyna, though getting up to it by foot is currently not the easiest of tasks," a rumbling chuckle rolling from her chest as she spoke.

Celena paused thoughtfully a moment at the question as if deciding something, flying quietly for that brief moment before she finally replied, "My home, while not on the surface above was that of the City of Irthir, a vast city of my people built far beneath the mountains above, it's caverns stretching as far as the eye could see, the crystal sun illuminating it all, few outsiders have ever set foot within and remembering the tale," the Linar spoke with some pride though her tone solemn by the end.

Brightening though as she looked back to her passenger and friend, "Your world is a beautiful one from what is before us," She replied with a smile before grinning, "The ravines below do look like they could use some closer 'inspection', what would you say?" A grin and a look over her shoulder giving the hint that inspection may mean something more akin to Reyna's previous personal run through the ravines except this time on wing.

((OOC: Sorry about the delays recently, Uni and work have left me with little time/ability to think on tags properly, will try and speed things up though))

Celena smiled and dipped her head at her friends reply, "It is a magnificent place..and indeed, we have our methods," answering cryptically as she tilted on wing toward the entrance to one of the closer ravines, "Hmm they sound an interesting species indeed, perhaps some time I could show you my city so that you may compare," She replies after a moment of thought.

A grin forming though on her snout at her passenger's reply and the mischievous grin the other gave, "Well then, hold on back there and we shall have quite a thorough look indeed!" The Linar called back to her friend, giving her a moment to get a better grip before she flared her wings wide and arched her back and tail, swooping up and over before drawing her wings in to dive, aiming them towards the mouth of the nearest ravine.

At the last possible moment she flared her wings once more to level out and shoot into the mouth of the ravine at high speeds.

Celena grinned as she sped low through the ravine, excitement she derived from such daring flight rushing through her as she wove through the canyon so skillfully. That grin only growing wider at her friends daring suggestion, happy to oblige as she called back, "Sounds a fine idea to me, shall we?" Giving her that second of warning before she tilted their course to bring them closer to the wall.

Closing rapidly for a moment it might seem that they would crash into it, that is before she arched her path, tilting on wing tip so that they flew parallel to the wall, her claws mere inches from the surface of the cliff face. Holding that course to swoop so dangerously close between a rocky pillar that stood out from the floor of the canyon, with just enough gap for them to make it through. For a brief moment longer she skimmed the cliff face before she would return her course back down the cliff face to level out just as close over the floor of the canyon itself, picking up speed with powerful beats of her wings as she set her path along that of a river flowing at the bottom of these canyons, toward one of the deeper ravines Reyna had previously been driving.

The Linar's grin widened at Reyna's shouted encouragement, calling back over the wind, "With pleasure!" A quick glance given over her shoulder before she would angle up ever so slightly, a ripple of red light flowing down along her form as she drew her wings halfway in, diving through the entrance of that deep ravine, their speed increasing even further than would normal for such a dive.

Wings flared out once more, the markings along the membranes alive with light, with energy, not much but noticeable in the shade of that deep canyon. An unseen force aiding in holding her friend in place on her back, even as she pulled near neck-breaking turns and maneuvers through the tighter parts of that winding canyon. At one point, pulling wings in to spin under a bridge of stone joining the sides of the canyon. One to show off, no certainly not. She was enjoying this, very much so.

That familiar thrill, the exhilaration of such daring flight flowing through her very veins as they shot through that canyon. All too soon that ravine opened up, the pair shooting out at near ground. Roar echoing joyously from Celena as her wide spread wings carried the dragoness and her passenger mere feet above that nearby lake. So close that Celena let her talons graze the surface briefly, "Enjoying yourself back there?" The Linar called over her shoulder with a wide grin.

((OOC: Sorry again about the delay, next few days should be able to respond a bit more quickly, then exams, after that will be quick though, hopefully))
