Thrill Ride [Open]
Today was different. Today wasn't about exploring the ship, keeping in shape, or trying to learn more about the Ohm. No, today was about indulging in one of her favorite pastimes - racing through the canyons outside Crevasse City on her classic JR-4 swoop. The fate of Alderaan and the upcoming battle against the Ohm had been weighing heavily on Reyna of late, and she felt in dire need of a distraction.
So it was that she found herself in one of the Sensoriums using her memories of home to conjure up the appropriate terrain, her swoop, and an attractive racing outfit to temporarily replace her plantsuit. Once everything was ready Reyna pulled on her helmet and mounted the swoop. She revved the engine a few times to get a feel for the controls, grinning as it all came flooding back to her, then sealed the helmet's visor and took off at breakneck speed for the nearest canyon.
Her heart pounding with excitement and adrenaline surging in her veins, Reyna weaved her way in and out of each gorge and ravine, climbing and diving and twisting and turning with reckless abandon. The knowledge that she was in no actual danger of getting hurt was lost in the thrill of the ride, and the feeling of flirting with disaster only heightened Reyna's enjoyment of it. She came bursting out of one particularly deep canyon at the last second, whooping with joy at the narrowly averted crash.
She ended her run with a quick dash across a nearby lake before circling back to her starting point at a leisurely pace. Leaving the swoop idling beneath her, Reyna took off her helmet and tucked it under her arm, laughing and smiling as she shook her short brown hair away from her face.
[OOC: All are welcome! Feel free to join Reyna for a wild ride on her swoop, race against her, just hang out and chat, etc. Basically whatever sounds like fun that you can convince Reyna to participate in.]

After a moment she leveled off, not far above the height of the top of the canyons, using her tail and Tail fins as a rudder to turn them toward the ravines. "The City is a very interesting place indeed, buildings from many different worlds lie within its cavern, many are currently damaged from an event previous to our arrival, however," A smile given back to her passenger, "The top few levels of the building had suffered damage from that same event, I've with a little effort..modified the area within, to ensure it is safe, with a few additions it has proven comfortable. Also has a good view over the city, almost reminds me of home," she explained as they flew, adding that last bit a little more softly.

"The City sounds fascinating," Reyna said when Celena turned to look at her, raising her voice above the roaring of the wind. "I shall have to make it a priority to explore it more fully. If nothing else it would be a good excuse to come visit you and see your new accommodations." Reyna knew it would be good for her to get out more, and not just to escape into the Sensoriums, so she resolved to visit Celena as soon as possible.
"What's your home like?" Reyna asked curiously, pausing to pull a strand of hair out of her mouth that had lodged there thanks to the wind. "Since this simulation is based on my world it should give you a fair idea of what it was like as we fly, but feel free to ask me anything you like about it."

"Very much so, there are so many wonderfully interesting things to be seen," She called back easily over the wind, a bob of her head in acknowledgment, "It is still a work in progress, but it would be a pleasure to have you by Reyna, though getting up to it by foot is currently not the easiest of tasks," a rumbling chuckle rolling from her chest as she spoke.
Celena paused thoughtfully a moment at the question as if deciding something, flying quietly for that brief moment before she finally replied, "My home, while not on the surface above was that of the City of Irthir, a vast city of my people built far beneath the mountains above, it's caverns stretching as far as the eye could see, the crystal sun illuminating it all, few outsiders have ever set foot within and remembering the tale," the Linar spoke with some pride though her tone solemn by the end.
Brightening though as she looked back to her passenger and friend, "Your world is a beautiful one from what is before us," She replied with a smile before grinning, "The ravines below do look like they could use some closer 'inspection', what would you say?" A grin and a look over her shoulder giving the hint that inspection may mean something more akin to Reyna's previous personal run through the ravines except this time on wing.
((OOC: Sorry about the delays recently, Uni and work have left me with little time/ability to think on tags properly, will try and speed things up though))

"Irthir sounds like a beautiful and wondrous place! Your people must be quite skilled to be able to fashion such a place out of the very mountains themselves." Reyna shifted a bit where she perched behind Celena's back, settling herself more comfortably between the Linar's wings. "Where I come from there are a race of beings known as Sullustans who carved their dwellings out of the caves and fissures beneath the surface of their world. It wold be very interesting to compare their cities to yours!"
Celena's suggestion that they take a closer inspection of the ravines below make Reyna's eyes flash with excitement and brought a mischievous grin to her face. She made sure her seating was secure and tightened her grip on Celena's scales.
"I think your assessment is highly accruate and I agree that we should examine the ravines as thoroughly as possible!"
[OOC: Thanks for the FYI. I totally understand. :) Slow is fine - no worries!]

A grin forming though on her snout at her passenger's reply and the mischievous grin the other gave, "Well then, hold on back there and we shall have quite a thorough look indeed!" The Linar called back to her friend, giving her a moment to get a better grip before she flared her wings wide and arched her back and tail, swooping up and over before drawing her wings in to dive, aiming them towards the mouth of the nearest ravine.
At the last possible moment she flared her wings once more to level out and shoot into the mouth of the ravine at high speeds.

"Hey Celena!" Reyna had to shout over the roar of the wind to get her friend's attention. "What do you think about seeing how close we can get to one of the canyon walls?" Flying with Celena made her feel even more daring then when riding her swoop, and Reyna had a serious urge to make things just a little more dangerous.

Closing rapidly for a moment it might seem that they would crash into it, that is before she arched her path, tilting on wing tip so that they flew parallel to the wall, her claws mere inches from the surface of the cliff face. Holding that course to swoop so dangerously close between a rocky pillar that stood out from the floor of the canyon, with just enough gap for them to make it through. For a brief moment longer she skimmed the cliff face before she would return her course back down the cliff face to level out just as close over the floor of the canyon itself, picking up speed with powerful beats of her wings as she set her path along that of a river flowing at the bottom of these canyons, toward one of the deeper ravines Reyna had previously been driving.

That turned out to be nothing compared to what came next though. They came so close to the jutting pillar that Reyna instinctively ducked her head as they passed by it. It just thrilled her even more though, and she was once again laughing and shouting for joy when Celena eventually leveled out. Reyna started to reach up to brush away a loose strand of hair but quickly thought better of it and maintained her grip. A mouthful of hair was preferable to a tumble to the ground!
"Faster!" Reyna shouted encouragingly between bursts of excited laughter. She could see where they were headed now and was grinning eagerly in anticipation.

Wings flared out once more, the markings along the membranes alive with light, with energy, not much but noticeable in the shade of that deep canyon. An unseen force aiding in holding her friend in place on her back, even as she pulled near neck-breaking turns and maneuvers through the tighter parts of that winding canyon. At one point, pulling wings in to spin under a bridge of stone joining the sides of the canyon. One to show off, no certainly not. She was enjoying this, very much so.
That familiar thrill, the exhilaration of such daring flight flowing through her very veins as they shot through that canyon. All too soon that ravine opened up, the pair shooting out at near ground. Roar echoing joyously from Celena as her wide spread wings carried the dragoness and her passenger mere feet above that nearby lake. So close that Celena let her talons graze the surface briefly, "Enjoying yourself back there?" The Linar called over her shoulder with a wide grin.
((OOC: Sorry again about the delay, next few days should be able to respond a bit more quickly, then exams, after that will be quick though, hopefully))

"Without question!" Reyna called back, grinning hugely. "That was incredible! You are a truly magnificent flier!"
[OOC: That's okay. I'm kind of swamped at the moment though, so I'm probably going to be slow for the next several days. Sorry!]
